new pcı efi lion+snow dual boot works perfect you only need delete sleepenabler.kext

i have a question lion DP3 relased ? i colud'not find

DP3 is actually just a update available only through Software Update.

Question for Andy or others:

So, this bootloader will load kexts in /Extra (mkext file or E/E setup) and then the kernelcache in /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup?

What if a mkext file of S/L/E were in that same directory (like in SL) - would it load that, too, or just expect a kernelcache?

The new PCEFI bootloader works great here. but i have some small problems. After 10 / 15 mins use, the computer just shuttdown. No error message, just shutdown.

i have this:

DSDT in extra

Extensions:

AppleHDA.kext

AppleRTL8169Ethernet.kext

FakeSMC.kext

JMicron36xATA.kext

Legacy889HDA.kext

Someone know what to do??

i use the same DSDT for my snow leopard setup!

in my method, I spoke to create 2 partitions on MBR, one in MS-DOS for XPC and other one in HFS for Lion !!!

Therefore you should re-format that where it is XPC and to install PCEFI 10.6 over !!!

If that doesn't work, re-format your DD in GPT, install Lion over and then PCEFI 10.6!!!

FIRST option you described is what i am using right now,

are you sure that second will work?

i tried it once gave me this screen with your packagepost-695907-1303916879_thumb.jpg

IMG_0044.JPG

NVEnabler::probe fails

nstat_lookup:entry failed:2

nspace-handler-set-snapshot-time: 130391595

put nvenabler kext in extra folder, should work, problem with nvenabler kext

not having time, I had just wanted to see if the new PCEFi was going to work for me , Therefore I just re-formated my HD in GPT and installed Lion and PCEFI over !!!

So , yes that work !!!! :(

thx for conforming.

anyone with some above noob knowledge here can explain-----my graphic card (in signature) was working pretty well on boot without even specific kext while on this new pcefi thing with chameleon its not even with kext, can anyone think of a reason?

display.tiff

strange thing its still working nicely with boot,so ne pcefi is not that good. image as proof you can see my boot usb in pic too.

display_iBOOT.tiff

this also proves none of the bootlaodes still is good enough and needs work, until we can see SL stability.

Has anybody found a fix for the twice as fast time/speed of animations or clock in Lion some reported here previously? :)

Please consider posting your solution to this thread as well:

[HELP] Very Strange Problems in Lion

btw. I am happy to say the latest Chameleon Boot loader works for me with a GTX 570 as well and I don't need to delete caches every reboot!

Thanks for that! :)

We've worked hard on making a non-double faulting bootloader (the credits go to cparm for this).

I've constructed a PC EFI 10.6 that will work on both Lion and older.

It is no longer required to use the kernelcache (you can use also Extensions.mkext or just .kext files)

This is only the first step in the line, next will be an AnVAL and I'm sure cparm will release stuff too :D

I've also attached atom / new Celeron patched kernel but it'll only work for 64bit cpu's (apple is dropping their legacy 32bit support since Lion with every step...).

Even with DP1 and perfect bootloader and patched kernel it'll halt execution after launchd is launched so...

I've done the same test on an i7 and it loaded very fast without issues...

Patch for Snow Leopard PC EFI 10.6 is also included...

Kernel for DP2 Atom / New celeron 64bit:

CAN YOU PLEASE TAKE A LOOK PROBLEM I M HAVING AFTER YOUR FILE ALTHOUGH NO NEED OF FAKESMC EVERYTIME AFTER USING YOUR BOOTLOADER , THX IN ADVANCE

Having returned from a week away I see there have been lots of recent developments here.

XPC 0.83.02 works great.

Chameleon trunk 752 with Andy's patches for Lion and Snow Leopard

I've just tested this and can successfully boot 10.6 and 10.7 without problem. :)

Thanks for posting this MaLd0n and thanks to everyone involved with the problem solving and coding which led to this point.

Are you guys using the new PC EFI on a partition or installed directly to your Lion disc? When I try to boot with this installed on my Lion Disk I get past the boot screen select Lion and I get a black screen with fans running at full speed. Thanks for any help.

ATI Card?

Try setting Graphics Enabler to No in your com.apple.boot.plist and adding this to your S/L/E folder

http://netkas.org/?p=640

This particular ATY_Init.kext is working for me with Lion, my ATI 5870 and the latest PC EFI

Works perfectly here, no more DFs. Thank you, Andy.

Power off and reboot OK with EvoReboot.kext.

Going to sleep causes computer restart.

Um, yeah it happens with #####, XPC (some other guy said so) and Chameleon (I am saying so).

On the other hand ##### and XPC had no DF error, only Chameleon had. So this time it seems all bootloaders are affected.

Sorry, I don't know how to enable your graphics card.

FYI, I can't look at your attached image files neither.
