I've been using OSX as my primary on my PC for a while now... Since the JaS 10.4.8 disc was released. Works better than XP ever did on my machine, and install's easier to. I have to install less drivers to get my video/sound/etc work correctly then I do with XP as well, so that's a big plus!

Unfortunatly I don't know if OSX would work on my laptop so it's still running MCE2005.

Yes my hackintosh is my primary machine, but as much as I like my "Mac", I can't make my Avid work in it, and combustion installation is not behaving well. So it's pretty much a 50/50 deal between Mac and Win.

Hackintosh is becomed my primary OS from 10.4.6 version.

I've broken XP's CD-ROM when I've found in a Mac a seriously alternative

to protect my personal documents and a new use of OpenGL, abandoned in

windows what use DirectX.

Oh HELL yes!

My main systems are as follows:

Fujitsu-Siemens T4210 (Now fixed),

Medion 1900 P4 1.9 Slackware workstation,

Powermac Yikes! G4 400,

iBook G3 700 14".

The T4210 is obviously the main system, as the most recent by about 5 years. It has Linux on a partition that hasn't been used since I installed it, Windows on a partition that hasn't been used since I got the machine back, and Mac OS X on the second partition. It's also the OS I use constantly. Now that my Pen works, most of what I want to do can be done. I'll readily admit that ome of the mising hardware is pretty important to me, and getting it working will make my life easier - but the tablet is far more useable without Wifi, Sleep, Rotation or Cardbus than Windows ever was!

Mine isn't - just a week into Mac OS X. Yes, LOVE it. I have a small video editing box with Matrox Parhelia 2 screen + TV - now I did not see any support or info on this ANYWHERE on the net. I mean for OSX86. The USP Web Cam does not work and is not recognised, and other such plug-and-play things seem not to be working. Too much delving into the guts of definitions and drivers to get my test-bed Evo 510 (2GHz SSE2) graphics to switch to 1280x1024... the DVD would 'not initialize' and I cannot play DVDs...

Still like it better than windows. yes, I accept being a hackintosh many things may not work... but as a taste of the OS, much that I like it, it does not inspire desire to fork out on proprietory Mac h/w to get 'the full monty'.no. deffinetely not. would LOVE to be able to BUY a copy of OSX that would work on the PC...any PC...Alas, that is not available... What to do? I like the flexibility and freedom for re-configurations, expansions and upgrades that a PC gives me. I would feel constrained if I depend only on Mac h/w - no competition, no alternatives for different h/w options - just Mac, and just at the price they decide to put... sux really... so for me the jury is still out...

I use my hackintosh as my primary machine, the ONLY time I have to use windows is to play games, and when parallels has dx9.1 hardware support, then I will probobly delete windows.

I develop with osx running, windows in parallels, and linux in parallels, that way, I can test websites in windows, linux, and osx, with all the browsers all locally, without a problem. It really is nice having 4 gigs of ram and a core2duo. =]

im actually gonna dual boot with vista and osx this weekend. my hackintosh setup was buggin out, kept freezing up on me so i went back to windows. ive been missing osx ever since. :D how much more stable is jas' 10.4.9 release?

I'm running the new kernel on 10.4.8 on my hackintosh. I couldn't say about 10.4.9, although it is on my G4.

yes,but i also use Xp sp1 for some of multimedia, producing and games

Why SP1, and not SP2?

I'd say both XP and OSX get used evenly. OSX has useful software (Maple 10, iMovie, XCode) and so does XP (Guilty Gear XX, MultiSim, Visual Studio). I use XP more often due to all the hardware being supported. If the 3945abg driver, Finepoint driver, and X1400 driver were up and running, I'd remove XP entirely.

because i dont to on net from win,so i dont need firewalls and other sh**s,thats why is sp1 faster for use.

It depends, I can make a PIII running SP2 fly. Bootup in 15 seconds or faster.

Take a look at this: http://www.nliteos.com/index.html

It lets you strip stuff out of windows too. You can get XP Pro Sp2 down to about 200mb if you know what

to take out. You can remove all IE, and ActiveX functionality too.

I'm like you, I don't trust windows on the net either. I can't afford to.
