Im on the rev 2 board and used the hacked IONetworkingfamily.kext

it's still there and I cant find a vanilla kext anywhere. all you guys using the RealtekRTL81xx.kext, did you just selete the realtekR1000SL.kext and drop this one in there? do you still use the vanilla, Apple IONetworkingfamily.kext? and if so, could someone please send this to me.. as I still have about a 15 second gab before my ethernet works when I come back from sleep. Also, my connection is called "Ethernet" and not "en0" like it used to be called on my rev 1 board.

got it taken care of.

has anyone gotten istat to display gpu fan and temps?

slightly of topics

but again my credits to kdawg , fka and d00d

Was on an OC session yesterday with kdawg´s rev.2.0 DSDT , that works really fine.

@ 4, 2 @1,36 V QPI/VTT 1,35 on air ...I got 14666 ..nice

though not for 24/7 ..temps > 85 degrees ..all fans full with Linx (Win7)

950er CPU is a nice batch ..boots in Win 7 @ 4,5 , finished a 32 M superPi , Cinebench and 10 Linx Runs .

MacOS boots fine too , but panics @ Cinebench and Geekbench

I am pretty sure I would get it working with 1,4 V vcore , but thats academic , cause temps are to high .

Anyway , i like this new rig , and as I am mainly interested in Graphics i would like to

point you to my post over in the graphics department with some interesting

OpenGl and OpenCl results and a comparison with the new 2010 PowerMac.

maybe someone is interested here

greetings

from the Blackforest.. Germany

What went wrong ?, sorry no clue

best

armin

The Info.plist file that you show in the editor isn't the one being loaded, and if you want it to show 1.39f11, use <01390f00 0011>.

Thanx champ

that worked out of the box .... and that leads to my main N00B-motocyclist- question :

installed last cham (Fabios install) yesterday evening

tried to boot with my ATI HD 5770 with AtiRom in bootlist and my rom.file in E/

brrr.rr.... instant KP - fan 100%

bootet in Win 7 and copied my trusted Kabyl HD 5770 boot over and it worked instantly again without AtiRom

just with GraphicsEnabler= Yes , like ever

bootet back in 32 bit mode and fired MSR tools and got this screen :

mmmhhh: no multiplierchange .... what went wrong ?

all energy saving options are enabled

<key>DropSSDT</key>

<string>yes</string> in bootlist

kernel[0]: AppleIntelCPUPowerManagementClient: ready

kernel[0]: AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement: Turbo Ratios 1112 *

*is this the multipler ratio : i have 14x

kernel[0]: AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement: initialization complete

istat shows : 38 degr. C

Here's another multiplier question. Does anyone see any other p-state multipliers in Mark-i other then the min and max for their core i7 processors? For my 930 all I ever see is 11 and 21. Just wondering if Mark-i picks up the in between ones. My p-states appear in the ioreg and my CSTInfo=0x1240105.

Hey, Dawg!

You did not even told us the news on your hardware ahn?

Just a PS: CSTINFO is in a 7 digit algarism muuuuch likely an ioreg without the hex option

So maybe if you research about this number in HEX ( 12 EC 29 - you may have 2 zeros before or afftar if its a 4-byte wise declaration) you might find more on your researches.

Good luck! ,

Yeah I just recently got the X58. Figured it was time to graduate. I've been laying low otherwise.

Hay mate

Try with voodoomonitor, works for me 32 and 64.

Kext in S/L/E

VoodooMonitor.zip

D

Strange all it does is crash my system. I get a KP. I removed ringaccess.kext of course.

I went back to look at the console and I see a buttload of this.

Obviously v is voltage but what does REG represent?

Mine does but I have an Nvidia card. I don't recall there being an ati plugin just yet, but I very well could be mistaken.

hmm im on a gtx 260 but it doesnt seem to show my gpu temps or fan speeds in istat. if i remember correctly my gts 250 on my old system showed both of these. how did you manage to do it? My system has my card coded into the dsdt and i dont use graphics enabler or anything like that.

also has anyone managed to flash a gtx 260 to a quadro fx card? Id love to use my card for some premiere rendering..

Nothing special as far as I know.

I have these as my plugins for my FakeSMC:

CPUi.kext

FakeSMCACPImonitor.kext

FakeSMCIntelThermal.kext

FakeSMCnVclockPort.kext

FakeSMCSuperIO.kext

I'm using GraphicsEnabler with Chameleon RC5 Rev515, but also had my fan speeds using an efi string with RC4 when GraphicsEnabler wasn't working for me.

dropping it in SLE isntead of EE added a ton more features

istat still only shows 4 cores though for temps, even though istat shows 12 threads and i get 20k in geekbench. also it only shows the temps of one of my gfx cards.

anyways to edit these things in?

Hi all

I looking for some help to use this dsdt file, as I am completely lost... After installation of the dsdt.aml I have lost sound, video other than 1024x768 and most important: the sleep feature... :)

First of all, here is my configuration:

- GA-EX58-UD5 with F12 bios

- Core i7 920 @2.66 (no overclocking)

- Nvidia 9500 GT

(see my signature for full configuration details)

Nothing really exotic, so I tried with the DSDT_GA_EX58_UD5_F9m_S3_920_W3520_v2.zip file from dood's first topic.

My system was running fine using digital dreamer script, so here is what I did:

As I am not familiar with building extendions.mtext, I decided to use DD script with modified directory content.

So I got the latest version of its script, and clean up directorues to keep only the following kexts:

/_ATA => IOAHCIBlockStorageInjecter (to fix the orange icon issue)

/_Audio => LegacyHDA

/_Networking => RealteckR1000SL

/MiscPatches => fakemsc

I ran dd script and performed the following operations:

- Installed Chameleon 2.0 RC4 R684

- Run kext/kernel installer (option 5 in DD script) to put

- IOACHCIBlockStorage, LegacyHDA and fakemsc in /Extra

- RealteckR1000SL in /system

- Uninstall existing kexts (such as SleepEnabler and some others kexts)

I run the "normal build cache" option to build a new Extension.mkext in /Extra

I then manually edited :

/Extra/com.apple.boot.plist to add the "DropSSDT =Yes" entry

My smbios.plist was already correctly set up with SMProductName=MacPro4,1 and SMcputype = 1281

An of course, I put dood's dsdt.aml in /Extra

So what did I miss ?

The most important issue is the sleep which is not working...

I guess the video problem (only 1024x768 available) could be fixed with an EFI String, as well as the audio (I used the LegacyHDA from DD script, which may not be the correct one)

Thanks for any help.

I found I needed to keep platformuuid.kext to prevent KP on waking from sleep.

Well, in my case, I do not have any KP.

The "sleep" option in the apple menu have absolutely no effect.

reply I have the same mobo and cpu as you, and an nvidia gfx card. my setup has fakesmc in system not extra.

I'm using the asrere branch of chameleon.

Every thing works for me. search my posts for details of my setup.

If all else fails maybe try a new install.
