  1. Hi everybody I am currently running Mojave on a GTX660 with 2 displays (one is 1920x1200, second one is 4K retina) Since I upgraded to Mojave, I get some very annoying glitches on the display. From what I saw on the Internets this is a common issue with this nVidia card (I temporarily switched to a GTX650 which works fine but does not support my 4K display) So I am willing to switch to an AMD graphic card for better compatiblity (as Apple now only uses AMD graphics on macs). For budget reason I will probably go for a RX580 rather than a Vega, but from what I read trough the forum, some people are facing issue with FCPX and this card (export to H264 does not work) I guess that this is because the GPU is not correctly handled, and that FCP X is not able to user hardward acceleration for rendering. As I am using Premiere pro, I was wondering if there was such issues with Premiere ? And more generally: does Premiere Pro will take benefit of this card, or will I get same performances with a cheaper RX570 or even RX560 ?
  2. Thanks for your comments, it was cristal clear. I followed your "instructions" and change my Clover configuration accordingly (replacing my DSDT and config with yours, and using the kexts you mentionned). The only things I didn't do, was to put the ApplePCIIDE (as I don't have any IDE device). and I did not follow you nvidia instructions, as my GTX660 is not handled by nvdia drivers (only GTX680 is). Instead I used the NVCAP string I was already using in my config.plist So the Graphics key looks like this (in case it may help people having the same graphic card: MSI N660 Gaming 2GB/OC TwinFrozr ) <key>Graphics</key> <dict> <key>Inject</key> <dict> <key>ATI</key> <false/> <key>Intel</key> <false/> <key>NVidia</key> <false/> </dict> <key>NvidiaSingle</key> <false/> <key>NVCAP</key> <string>050000000000FFFFFFFF00000000000E00000000</string> </dict> It works perfectly, with 2 screens: one is plugged in DVI, the second which is 4K using display port I also kept the VoodooHDA kext, until I investigate the toleda patch thing. Anyway, everything seems to works perfectly (sleep, poweroff, network, ...) Thank you very much.
  3. Could you share your Clover kext configuration ? (I guess your DSDT is the DSDT_GA_EX58_UD5_F9m_S3_v6 you shared few posts ago) With my EX58-UD5/Bios F13/Clover/Yosemite 10.10.4 I have an issue with the sleep/power off. - Sleep does not work: machine goes to sleep but crashes (sometimes with a BIOS reset/corruption*) at wakeup - Power off does not work half of the time (everything goes fine, I get the "CPU Halted" message, but system fans never stop) Here is my CLOVER/kexts/10.10 content: - AppleRTC.kext - FakeSMC.kext - NullCPUPowerManagement.kext - RealtekRTL81xx.kext - VoodooHDA.kext I will try the clover config you shared, but before I would like to be sure I don't miss (or have useless) kexts. Thanks *: The BIOS corruption leads to the following behavior at startup: When I press the power button, the motherboard starts (internal leds light up, all fans start) and after less than a second, everything stops. And then it restarts again... and stops again after a second, and so forth... Symptoms look like an hardware issue, but clearing CMOS with the "Clr CMOS" switch solves it.

    nvcap nvidia 660GTX

Hi guys, here is an update on my NVCAP issue As I have a Mavericks partition where my GTX 660 is correctly working, I grabbed the NVCAP from this working environment, using the following command in the terminal: And I was able to grab the correct NVCAP from my MSI N660 2GD5/OC And the magic value is: With this NVCAP set in my clover.config, I was able to get my second monitior (a 4K/retina one, using the DisplayPort output of the video card) to work. For information, here is the graphics section of my clover.config <key>Graphics</key> <dict> <key>Inject</key> <dict> <key>ATI</key> <false/> <key>Intel</key> <false/> <key>NVidia</key> <false/> </dict> <key>NvidiaSingle</key> <false/> <key>NVCAP</key> <string>050000000000FFFFFFFF00000000000E00000000</string> </dict> And here the result in About This Mac / Graphics

Hi all, I am facing the same issue, with the same kind of video card (mine is an MSI TwinFrozer Gaming) NVCAP maker does not show any output string. I attached my bios.rom I extracted with the nvflash tool. Could somebody help me to get the NVCAP from by board ? bios.rom.zip
  6. I would like to install Clover (and Yosemite) on my EX58-UD5. Is there any tutorial for this board ? I did not found any...
  9. Yes, the kext dev mode was set to 1. Regarding Chameleon, I am using the one included in the latest version of Digital Dream script which is r2395, I should consider an upgrade (but it was not neccessary, see below) Following the Known issues (Kernel panics on boot section) recommendations (which I did not checked before, I should have...) I put all my kext in the /System and use the kernel cache (UseKernelCache=Yes). And it worked My only issue was then the App Store which was not working. I googled this, and it appears that it was related to my ethernet port being en1 instead of en0 I simply changed my mac model (changing from MacPro5,1 to MacPro4,1 in the smbios.plist) and this issue was solved. Thanks for your help
  10. Hi all, Mavericks is running fine on my machine, so I tried to install Yosemite... and hopefully, I did it on another drive! Here is what I did (I followed the steps from the first post of this topic) 1- Create a USB boot disk installer: Moved the "kernel" file from HackInstaller/Kernels/10.10_Yosemite to HackInstaller/Kernels/ Started script Menu 1: OSX Installer, Option 1: Boot Disk Selected by USB drive Kext install: Y Efi String: N Keep Graphic flag to No (as I am using with Mavericks) Option 1, Grab DSDT from this machine No change in the DSDT patch selection screen 2- Booted from the USB drive, checked with Disk Utility that the drive was GUID patitionned, and installed Yosemite 3- Rebooted on Mavericks, rerun script: Installed Chameleon (Menu 2, Option 2) (no change in the module list) Installed Kexts (Menu 3, Option A: Standard Boot) Patched DSDT (Menu 5, Option 1: Grab and patch from this machine) 4- Rebooted on Yosemite... And got this error message: Unable to find driver for this platform= \"ACPI\".\n"@/SourceCache/xnu/xnu-2782.1.97/iokit/Kernel/IOPlatformExpert.cpp:1590 My mobo is a GA-EX58-UD5 (see signature for full machine specs), same one as MAJ, so I did not change anything in the scripts settings and kext configurations. Any idea on why it is not working ?

Cheapest 4K/UHD card with DP working OOB ?

I know, but it was not planned to change my graphic card. (a Nvidia GT 610 which is working very well, and cost me only 30€) The story is that I won this 28" 4K monitor in a store sweepstake, and I would like to keep it (and have the retina experience on my hackintosh) , but in order to use it correctly I need to change the card. And as it was not planned, I don't have money to do so... Spending 200€+ in a graphic cards is not an option... 120€ would be the very maximum I can afford. What about the GTX 750 ? I found this one: http://www.zotac.com/uk/products/graphics-cards/geforce-700-series/gtx-750/product/gtx-750/detail/geforce-gtx-750-zone-edition/sort/starttime/order/DESC/amount/10/section/specifications.html

Cheapest 4K/UHD card with DP working OOB ?

Thanks for your feedback, and happy new year to all of you The R9 280, 280x, 290 and 290x are to expensive for me... I looks like I may have to forget the "working oob" option What about the R7 250 ? It is affordable (<100€) and it supports 4K (over DisplayPort) and is fanless
  13. HI all, I just got a 4K monitor, but in order to be able to have 4K@60Hz, I need to change my graphic card for one with a DisplayPort output. I am looking for the cheapest one (I don't do any gaming, 3D or anything that needs power) but I want it to run out of the box, in order to be as reliable as possible. Any idea ? I am completely lost in all AMD references... Thanks.
  14. Thank you very much! The option was not set. Now sleep/wake works fine
  15. Almost... No more cmos reset, but it reboots instead of waking up.
