Wig72 Posted May 27, 2006 Share Posted May 27, 2006 Hi all I installed to my friend 10.4.6 JAS DVD just with SSE 3 and intel patch ..... and security update 003 with boris method's all works at 100% DVI OUTPOUT WORKS TOO He has a xt 1600 agp pro brand HIS 71c0 and and SONY monitor 19 inch I'm disgusting about my card xt 850 urrrrgggh I tried with a 1600 xt but my Cinema display doesn't works ..... Without adapter ? As mentioned above I've installed 10.4.6 JAS DVD this afternoon on a seperate Partition. Just SSE3 and Intel Patch selected. No security Update. But still no dvi Output. Maybe it's bios or slightly different pcb design or something, I mean, if it is driver related problem, how come some brands of x1600s all work and others do not? I attempted to use that version, and nothing broke, but DVI is still a no-go. Instead of trying to peicemeal solutions, fixing dual monitor support, correcting loss of framerates, DVI, login, etc, what we should all be looking for is the holy grail; how to make our system fully identify our video card so that it will work as native. I can only get it to work from bottom plug with VGA adaptor, to my 24" Dell LCD. It seems so far that only people with Jas 10.4.6 and Sapphire x1600XT are having working DVI, no visual glitches, no crashes and working GL. Is anyone with Sapphire x1600XT having any problems at all? There has to be more to it than just modding kexts. Obviously, during boot, the system checks the hardware, we need to find out what it checks, what we can override, what we can patch and fool the system. Ideas? Monitor is recognized by name in System Preferences, and all resolutions are available. Actual modifications depend on your Device ID for your particular card. Read this thread carefully, or at least first 3 pages, and in System Profiler under graphics you will see your device id (something like 0x71c0), and modify appropriate files as instructed. I just thought it might be interesting to find out what is the full scope of functionality for those who it is working for, compared to defects for people who are having problems.
