It comes with 256 mb ddr2 memory (pcie) And here is the screenshot about my version of ATINDRV.kext Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/17767-borisbadenov-ati-x1000-series-solution/page/24/#findComment-121453 Share on other sites

cardinal
Does anyone have TechTool Pro/Deluxe? It supposedly can check video memory. Would be interesting to know what it says for people who have artifacts. EDIT: never mind, it is PPC only. cyclonefr
I just tried call of duty, runs without any problem. My osx version is 10.4.5 myzar, +10.4.6 upgrade(not the official, but v3)+samba fix.But just to check out, I extracted the original 10.4.6 ATINDRV.kext from the OFFICIAL 10.4.6 update, and copied over.So my ATINDRV now is exactly what aberracus has.(<string>ATINDRV 1.4.26.11 (1.0f204)</string>) ok and did u try then running a game? or before? whatever if u have a link to download the upgrade im gonna try and everyone will know if it works depending on the HARDWARE or not Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/17767-borisbadenov-ati-x1000-series-solution/page/24/#findComment-121491 Share on other sites
munky
Update on the system Sleep situation. With the AppleACPIPlatform.kext as installed by Myzar 10.4.5 / Quixos 10.4.6, Sleep makes the screen sleep, but the machine keeps running. I cannot re-awaken it from this state. With the AppleACPIPlatform.kext from 10.4.4 or from 10.4.3, the machine seems to go into a proper sleep. Pressing spacebar or power button seems to initiate resume, but the display never comes back up. Also, the wlan card never seems to come back up - machine wont respond to ping in this state. Apologies if this seems off-topic, but im trying to figure out if the framebuffer drivers affect system sleep or not. EDIT: hmm.. I wonder if the wlan card is preventing it from reawakening properly? /me goes off to take his computer apart yet again... EDIT2: Nope, that didnt fix it. However, with the older AppleACPIPlatform.kext, I notice my processor speed is reported correctly. hanschien
Update: JaS 4.6 with Myzar 4.5 ATINDRV.kext Things seem to work alittle better now. DVI to VGA side lets the display sleep AND resume!!!! Albeit a little slow to resume like w/ my GMA 950. Display is detected as "VGA Display" in system preferences. Cannot get 1680x1050, but unplugging the vga connector and plugin back in and 1680x1050 magically appears, WTF. If I click on Detect Displays, 1680x1050 dissappears and goes back to 1400x1050. cardinal
OK, my Jas 10.4.6 install with ATINDRV from 10.4.5 fixes my artifacts and crashes. Everything seems to work OK visually (don't have any games to stress the system), but still no DVI and energy saving. I would like to try to replicate someone else's software setup. If you have Intel 945P chipset, a dual core CPU, X1600 card (pro or xt), and you have no problems, including working DVI and energy saving, I would really like to see output of your kextstat command so I can try to load the same versions of all drivers (ATI, PCI, IO, the whole thing) as you have and compare the results. That would help determine if variants of video cards make a difference. cardinal
Cardinal, it shouldnt be me, no? You would be a perfect candidate. Our systems are almost identical and it works for you and doesn't work for me. What I would like to try to do is bring my kexts to same version as yours, and if that doesn't work, get the same graphics card (I just got this one, so I should still be able to return it) and see then. Either way, we'll get further in figuring out what works and why. Black Knight
Still no clue as to why my X1800 is being detected as 0x5a34 instead of 0x7109? It only does this when it tries to load ATINDRV.kext of either 10.4.5 or 10.4.6. Black Knight
I did a ioreg and found out that 5a34 is the device ID for my PCI2PCI bridge, though I don't really know why it's loading that as my display driver. Superhai
Have anyone here played with /Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver.plist ? Ater downloading an app called Pref Setter and played with it I am sure that file is a big part of the clue to all this. From that app you also easily enable 2D QE. miejas
Just curious: does anyone here has a SiS chipset AND got their x1600 working? About dual monitor: I noticed the x1600 has a ven/dev id and subven/subdev id, right? Some brainstorming: ven/dev id is linked to the primary monitor and subven/subdev to the secondary??? What about including those two strings in the kexts? Or is this stupid thinking... Installed callisto version 3 (reapaired) 2 . installed koverg patch 3 . how do I get the QE/CI/OpenGL KEXTs to work with Callisto? Look in your /System/Library/Extensions folder for ATIRadeonXXXXGA.plugin/ (XXXX depends on your card model). Edit its Info.plist, under IOProviderClass key change IONDRVFramebuffer to CallistoFB, update or delete Extensions.mkext and Extensions.kextcache, then reboot.
