Well I tried build 003 and no luck 002 works fine but not 003. I get a kernel panic when I try to change the res. Now I am not using the DVI because I do not have a monitor that uses it.

I have an X800XL AGP (4A4B) and a BenQ 17" LCD using the analog out

EDIT: I lost the files to build002 can someone send them to me.

ATI All In Wonder X800 XT AGP (Device ID: 4A4B) not working here with b003.

Everytime I try to change resolutions, I get a gray message telling me to reboot my computer.

b002 worked, but most of the times I used to get the white screen with blue stripes.

Also, in both builds, the card is reported as PCI, instead of AGP.

Tks

*** Forgot to mention: Mac OS X 10.4.4 and 19" Widescreen Acer AL1913W LCD monitor through analog 15pin connector. It doesn't have DVI.

Here is my status on 003.

IBM thinkpad t42 1400x1050 Resolution.

Installed callisto 003.

on reboot, it works perfectly for me.. no problems with normal display. all resolutions now work.

using omni faq #11, enabled the QE in the ATIRadeon9700GA.plugin.

rebooted.

magic.. QE and CI is supported and working.

Im very happy.

only one extremely bad side effect of the QE enabling.

When moving windows around, the redraw within the window fails and the the background texture appears jumbled in the application window.

using desktop manager and switching to another virtual screen and back fixes the problem until the windows are moved again.

Thanks and keep up the good work.

Hopefully this description will help you determine if this is a problem in your driver and track it down.

I get reboot screens on any type of video change with 003.

The worst thing is I went back into winblows xp and got an ati video error and had to reboot. After reboot I could not get into my XP Pro anymore. So I am writing this message from a fresh install of XP. I have unpluged the power to the OSX86 drive till I figure out what happened?

On build 002 I just got the garble.

Used Build 003 and Koverg's patch. Some mouse tearing, but eh ;)

Damn, doesn't work for me.

10.4.5 install, X550 card. LCD screen connected via VGA cable.

Callisto v2 worked well, the screen would go a little nuts on some reboots (double screen etc.) but changing resolution down and then up again always corrected the problem. I ran 1280x1024 with QE/CI enabled.

But now with v3, I got a successful first boot into 1024x768. But when I tried to change resolution up a notch, the screen went black and the monitor said "mode not supported". Moving the cursor down to change back to 1024x768 didn't fix anything. Now I couldn't get any modes at all to work. Only black screen.

Could there be a difference if I connect my LCD with a DVI cable? Does it change anything?

I had modified both ATIRadeon9700GA.plugin and ATIRadeonGA.plugin with CallistoFB to get QE/CI working, could that have screwed things up (I don't think it should).

Any ideas? The monitor is recognised as CRT on boot-up. Ideas please.

Hey all !

I want to ask every one who have gabled screen or White screen with blue stripe, if they had modified their ATI bios to change default refresh rates as this post help to ?

http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=3469&hl=

Because I restored the Original backup of my bios, and Callisto 002 is working fine since I have done that !

Using ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128 Mo 256Bit.

Well it says on omnis site:

"Remember, if you are using DVI2VGA adapter, get rid of it and try a direct DVI connection to the card."

It appears I only have one video-in port on my LCD screen, and that is a D-SUB analog 15pin.

Does that mean I am screwed?

romaincs by working fine u mean u dont have any scramble even after reboot? maybe we have to use ATI BIOS?

Before, I used to have garbled screen or white screen with blue stripes at each 9/10 reboot.

No don't modify your bios. I done that to reach a greater refresh rate than 60Hz. No more need now with Callisto.

I restored my bios as I said, also I removed every windowserver plist files. Maybe the solution is in that last thing for callisto 002 garbled and blue stripes ...

EDIT : I use a DVI2VGA adapter, and without I get back with my White screen with blue lines ...

for all those QE/IC enabled, is that true that koverg patch has to be applied?

No, Just change

<key>IOProviderClass</key>

<string>IONDRVFramebuffer</string>

to

<key>IOProviderClass</key>

<string>CallistoFB</string>

in the ATIRadeon9700GA.plugin/Contents/Info.plist as the Omni's FAQ say ...

Tried that on Radeon Xpress 200m, doesn't work.

What's the problem ? Doesn't work is very vague ...

I'm using 10.4.5

While I know it's vague to say, it doesn't work, you must understand, that that is jsut it... Callisto 003 drivers work fine, i can change resolution (and it's wonderful to see macos in my native res)... edited the ATIRadeon9700GA.plugin/Contents/Info.plist file as described by omni. Deleted two extension files as said, rebooted... CI / QE still doesn't work.

I wish it did though, so I could watch movies on here. Kinda difficult without CI / QE, as it's too choppy!

This is on JaS' 10.4.6, by the way.

A.

ok i had the chance to speak french with romaincs that solved this problem using the DVI2VGA adaptator (ironic isnt it?) on the same system configuration as mine, the only difference was he has a CRT monitor and im using LCD.

So i decided to investigate futher...

After hours, ive noticed that b002 (b003=out of sync for me, so i cant test anything) works flawlessly BUT under SAFE MODE !!! : no screen scramble, no white screen + non blue lines 1/4 time. Ive made this test 10 times : changing resolution, changing Hertz etc

I guess there is a conflict between a kext (maybe or maybe not the original ATI's driver from Apple or another one) which seems to be a non essential, as it works fine under safe mode = -X

I think it's a good think to dig, because if we find where the conflict is then we can remove the kext and have a working driver :)

ps: maybe this kext is iondrvsupport.kext

OK, I've installed v003 on my Dell e1505 with an x1400. Card is recognized just fine, but callisto apparently thinks my laptop has a crt screen..?

Anyhow, 1024x768 works fine, switching to my default 1280x800 gives a light blue screen from which I can only escape by hard resetting the computer. I've read about others with this problem, but I can't find any solution. Apparently deleting all other ati-kexts is ineffective (haven't tried myself). What to do about the blue screen when switching resolution!?

I've also been fiddling with qe/ci, but to no avail.

u must be using beta003 no? i said it worked using beta002

else boot -s

then type:

fsck -fy

mount -uw /

rm -R /System/Library/Extensions/Call*.*

rm -R /System/Library/Extensions.mkext

rm -R /System/Library/Extensions.kextcache

reboot

Just because Callisto drivers load properly doesn't have to mean you can use QE + CI ?

Cause i have a ati radeon mobility 7000 and the callisto driver recognizes and initializes properly, but i have no QE + CI.

It ahs been mentioned multiplpe times in this very thread how to enable QE and CI, just search for it. QE and CI will never be part of the callisto driver, because it's a different part of osx.

I need some help please: I have a mobility x700 and applied Koverg´s patch, didn't work for the resolution but it did enable CI and QE... Then, I applied Callisto b003, but now I can´t change resolution (1024x768) but also CI and QE are out... I just need the instructions to "uninstall" Callisto from my system. Thanx...

By the way, why Callisto affected my CI/QE???
