You need a SpeedStep kext. Look in my signature. Or use Superhai's kext (look here).

Thankts for your fast replies. I've installed the Speedstep.kext and the app. Played a bit with the config and it has reduced the sound but I still hear the fan humming. System runs more silenced with vanilla but some stuff doesnt work any more so I dont want to change back...

While I appreciate you compiling it with a new version (the diffs do go in cleanly and voodoobuild just needs 1 line to create this) it is absolutely 100% useless. Voodoo kernel has this file embedded into the kernel and thus voodoo never uses the file on disk.

Who can help me? I install Voodoo kernel, but my system dont load anymore... I used iDeneb 1.3, AMD 5200 + proc. Mainboard MSI K9N Ultra....

What i need to do? Thanks!!!

What is tiogadriver (or tlogadriver?) ?

It is attempting to execute an illegal instruction (or SSE3 instruction - does your CPU support SSE3?), and consequently crashing. Remove it and it will work.

As I know this is : /System/Library/SystemConfiguration/PrinterNotifications.bundle/Contents/MacOS/tiogadriver

That is PPC thing. First of all you should check whether Rosetta is installed properly.

To do this, launch a Terminal & type:

/usr/libexec/oah/translate

If it doesn't work and says "Illegal instruction", "Bus Error" or something similiar, try this attachment:

Rosetta_Translate_Fix.pkg.zip

Ok i remove tiogadriver, but problem not decide (((( the same problem .... dont load after install Voodoo kernel.... any ideas?

I didn't mean remove the tiogadriver binary, what I meant was remove or fix the whole thing. Like if it were a package, removing it would remove kernel extensions and associated files. I am not familiar with what it is so I can't give more specific instructions.

The crash is happening because something in the kernel is trying to run either an SSE3 instruction or another illegal instruction which your CPU does not support. Voodoo's built-in emulator can not catch or emulate stuff running inside the kernel (like one of the kexts required for tiagodriver).

Anyone knows why Call of Duty 4 SP crashes upon launch?

It was mentioned earlier in this thread, someone with the exact same problem.

Multiplayer work flawlessly...

Could this problem be related to the Voodoo Kernel?

The other guy said he didn't have any problems when running the earlier beta version of voodoo...

Anyone knows why Call of Duty 4 SP crashes upon launch?

Could this problem be related to the Voodoo Kernel?

Yes, it is most probably an incompatibility between the app and the kernel. In particular, a problem with the custom-dyld component of the on-the-fly opcode patcher, while loading one of the dynamic libraries required by COD4. This happens with certain other apps also, we have several bug reports and crash logs (thanks), and we're trying to fix this with high priority.

If you have a pre-patched AMD install, the workaround is to boot with patcher_opts=0 OR type the command sudo sysctl -w hw.optional.patcher_opts=0 before running the game.

Ok thanks for the info

I'll try the workaround like you said :)

Hi guys,

I've been working on porting the Voodoo XNU kernel sources for XNU 9.6.0.

I've just succeeded in this. :)

The installer is included in the two StuffIt archives.

The rest is the diff for the xnu sources.

Happy new year everybody. :D

Voodoo_XNU_9.6.0_V1.1.pkg.part01.sitx

Voodoo_XNU_9.6.0_V1.1.pkg.part02.sitx
