Well it only fair to say that you wold have to include the Program and Giles folder as well for how big a windows installation is but seeing how much stuff I rdy added to it I can;t give ya a real install size

c:\windows = 9.89GiG

c:\program Files + my other installed stuff = 2.01 GIG

c:\ever thing eles windows addeds during the install - User Docs = 9.73GIG

Rough adding 23GIGs.

now keep in mined this is including programs I installed after words like Adobe Creative Suite 4 master collection. and other programs

My Music, Docs, Download< videos are stored on a differnt drive so there not included in the above. nether is any of my pc games installed...

upgrade and all vista Drivers worked.....

how ever Daemon tools + Achole 120% + STPD.SYS do not work under under windows sev7en yet. any thing that relies on the sptd driver will not work right now.

Call of Duty 4 when playing on line spits out a unknown Windows API Error

anything else so far works

the sidebar is not on the side anymore except sidebar.exe is till a running process and not integrated into explore.exe so it still lags and uses a lot of ram of using sidebar gadgets

Im be here for all your full questions

well the fact that windows seven is based on the Vista 6.1 Kernel with the MinWin Kernel that the DVD uses on boot up its is safe to say infact it is fully supports all hardware that vista support minus the sptd.sys Driver.

I personally use it for a my main PC and will be porting it to my laptop to see the laptop support.

I would say yes infact I would go ahead and use it for mainstream and keep upgrading to the newest builds as they come out. this gives a huge leap in software compatibility and driver compatibility.

if the pc is not for Real work that requires getting paid to use or any other major situations that require 100% uptime or 100% usability then fly at it

hey, i'm getting the 6801 x64 edition. do you think that at the beta stage it will replace vista or should i install on a seprate partition?

Yea.... this is pre-beta after all so at this time I wouldnt recomend making it your primary for a while. But when we hit beta 1 Ill be making it my primary OS. I did the same with vista at build 5381 I think it is - good times lol.

As alternative for daemon tools, poweriso has been reported as working under win7, I myself am using virtual clone drive, under win7 x64 works fine.

Vmware 6.5 network stack is messed up when running under win7 x64 as a host, bridge networking isn't working, nat seems to be working (I can ping and resolve DNS) but IE8 cannot connect to any site.

Good that I had this 3com USB wireless stick lying around, so I just connect that to the virtual machine :)

expect the problem of fined a alternative for deamon tools it the fact that deamon tools emulates all protections system like starforce and soo on. no other Virtual device can't do this.

so running pirated copy's of that download CnC 3 red alert sucks right now. ( yes I know theres HotFix exe files but meh not my point ) but the best alternative is Virtual CD 9.2 < can even emulate burning a black CD,DVD, BlueRay disc

so riping that DRM out of Itunes got easyer since you don;t need to wast a black cd..

whats nice aobut windows sev7en it looks nothing like windows... or linux or mac... its quick littery a all new look on its own

For any one intrested here the new wallpaper schemes . you now can select multi baclground and have it change any were fomr 10 seconds to ever 4 hours and anything inbetween
