try installing without gfx card in pc i got the still waiting for root device everytime it was installed

be sure to install ur chipset driver to just in case thats the prob u never know:p

I can't remove my graphics card as I don't have integrated graphics. I wouldn't be able to do much if I can't see anything :(

I've tried with and without the chipset drivers. With them, I get that "mDNSresponder" error.

This release doesn't seem very refined...

Ugh. iDeneb 1.3 doesn't work with my hacked AppleHDA... I get no sound.

I have Sigmatel 9205 on a gateway M-6846. The AppleHDA paulo-131 provided in the "Sigmatel 9205 with iATKOS" post worked perfectly under Kalaway 10.5.4, but now i get this error at startup:

AppleHDA.kext failed to load: unable to locate 'layout-id' property.

Disk Utility goes bezzerk on AppleHDA when I repair permissions too. Mostly "should be -rw-r--r-- , they are -rwxr-xr-x" stuff. Still even after permissions repair I get the same error at startup.

Hello eveyone...I am sort of new to this forum. A system admin by trade i have no problem working out the kins. I have a system up and running and i love it. Thats hard to say being a MS person for so long.

My question is when these new releases come out am i able to do a simiple upgrade or do i have to start over from scratch?

Just installed on a BadAxe2 board. PATA DVD/RW onto a SATA HD. Everything but audio running out of the gates. had to run the patcher and the mic input doesn't work, but this is how it has been since tiger. The only thing that isn't 100% is in About This Mac, my overclock speed isn't showing. If that is my only gripe, then I'm a happy camper! It seems to boot and shutdown a whole lot faster than with other builds too. Everything within the OS is VERY responsive, and I haven't had any kernel panics or beach balls.

Congrats iDeneb, you've got a fan!!!!

Always glad to see folks that haven't given up on the BadAxe2 mb. Glad to hear everything is working fine for you. I pretty much have played around with all the BA2 boards and the different releases. I haven't finished dl'ing iDeneb version yet but should get it finished this evening or tomorrow morning. Was there anything special you had to check to make this version work?

BTW, if you haven't seen it yet lately, there is a complete fix for the audio. I ran this on my vanilla system and it worked perfectly. Both audio sound and mic in are now working. That was the only piece of the pie to make everything work. Here's the url to download the fix:

Hope this completes your system for you.

Installed iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 three days ago.

Everything works except my gigabit ethernet and my 8800GT

The osx recons my card but my fps is low and sometimes i see strange lines.

So my first thing is to get that card working properly and then im going to fix the ethernet

System specs:

how to copy ApplePS2Controller.kext manually from DVD to HDD ?

During install my trackpad and PS/2 Keyboard working fine. On reboot after install, I have only my trackpad but no keyboard... I've a screen to plug a Keyboard and detect it. :D

iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 on Lenovo Y310 notebook.

Sorry for my bad english :)

doesn´t work even with the "socalled" most compatible board Gigabyte EP-45-DS 4

kernel panics all over

back to Kalway 10.5.2

No working without flaws beside screensaver and Sleep :)

Don't know what's happen to you man but maybe you have to try it again ...

Here is my method with the same motherboard

BIOS:

SATA AHCI enabled

Power on S1

HPET enable and 64bit support

Parallel Port Disabled

Serial Port Disabled

-Booted from DVD

-Made a full GUID partition (no MBR)

-Then Erased in the erase section :)

-Then choosed customize before installing

and choosed: SMBIOS 800 (DDR2 800) / ICHX fix / NVINJECT / no Audio driver used (get the one for PCwizz Gigabyte Center) / No ethernet Driver used (get the one for PCwizz Gigabyte Center) / No Jmicron driver used ( if only you are using IDE get the one for PCwizz Gigabyte Center) /

Then install/ Then Boot and installed all needed fix (Ethernet/Audio/Shutdown that's it)

It worked for me ...

hi guys and gals, i am having trouble booting into the installer.... :) i got the same exact thing with kalyway 10.5.2....

I'm stuck at localhost mDNSResponder[28]: Couldn't read user specified... etc.

I have disabled onboard LAN, Audio, Firewire, IDE etc.

The only reply so far in this thread was someone mentioning "Attansic NET". What

the heck is that :( there's no such thing in my BIOS.

System specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (3GHz).

MSI P35 Diamond (with modded BIOS, Kalyway 10.5.2 works with both cores).

Gigabyte 9600GT Heatpipe (062210de).

Western Digital SATA 500GB

Samsung S223Q SATA DVD-RW

Using Vanilla-kernel and ICHx fix.

Hey I made a breakthrough with the mDNSresponder hang. It turns out that even if I didn't select any nVidia drivers at install, it was still loading nVidia related drivers at boot and it was causing it to hang(which makes sense that it only booted into safe mode).

So to get around that, I did this (after booting into single/admin user mode by typing in -s at Darwin prompt):

/sbin/fsck -fy
/sbin/mount -uw /
rm -R /System/Library/Extensions/Ge*
rm -R /System/Library/Extensions/NVD*
rm -R /System/Library/Extensions/NVinject.kext
exit

Once I did that, it boots fine and I can get to installing audio. Again thanks Layne for the release.

hello

i am using iDeneb 10.5.5 and it work very well for me , i have a hp pavilion 6880 laptop , but vga output is not working for me , when detect for it , system is crash and not working and it shoud be power off !!! :censored2:

please help me , and sorry for my bad english :( !!!

well, almost everything here is going 100%, I only have a small problem with the video, I'm using a DG35EC.

BIOS-settings:

JMB368 AHCI: on
HPET: Enabled
VT: Enabled
NX: Enabled
EIST: Enabled
XD: Enabled
Power saving mode: S3

apparently it works, after installation, when the system is just beginning on a black screen, and checked the log of the plant and saw that is climbing the kext "NVDANV40 and NVDANV50" at the same time.

I tried using NVinject 0.2.1 256MB and 512MB and give the same problem of black screen.

I'm using an XFX Nvidia 8400 GS 512MB

grateful

I'd remove all video drivers and then go to this thread http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=132089 and use those drivers. while the main topic of the discussion is GF9 series, it should help some as the drivers posted there came from the latest macupdate I believe.

I can't remove my graphics card as I don't have integrated graphics. I wouldn't be able to do much if I can't see anything :censored2:

~David,,,,,,I had the same problem on my 1st (2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.) install of iDeneb 10.5.5.

After a little digging (and a lot of reading in the forum), I tried a suggestion from another member----try clicking on the "ICHX" fix on your next install attempt.

When I first tried the install, I was getting the "Do not enter" sign and no matter what I tried, it would not go away and let my machine boot. Three or four install attempts later, I finally clicked on the "ICHX" fix and (wonder of wonders) was fully up and running a short time later. No panics, no crashes--it was great. I did a few kext tweaks to get wired ethernet and my P/S 2 stuff working again, but it has given me no trouble ever since.

Hope this helps.

Installs fine for me here, but I have yet to get it to boot up in not safe mode. I believe it has to do with my video card, Diamond ATi Radeon HD 3870x2. I get a garbled screen and it appears frozen. Safe mode works...

My bios settings are pretty minimal, AHCI is ON and my IDE controller, Serial port, and Parallel port are all OFF. HPET is on, Execute disable is on, Virtualization is on. I do not use any PS/2 hardware.

I have a GA-P35-DS3L Latest bios and Radeon HD 3870x2 video card.

I have checked the

ICHx fix

ALC888 fix

3870x2 fix

and have not selected any kernel so I can use vanilla.

This should work, right? Or why doesn't it?

If I select base radeon HD driver and not 3870x2, I can get in normal mode with sound and all, but I can't change resolution from 1024x768...

Hello,

I've downloaded and install iDeneb 1.3 and works great. I had to click the JMicron patch on installer screen but now works great. The only problem I have is that I got no sound. I have a P5B Deluxe Asus Motherboard and I've try selecting from BIOS HD and AC97 on on-board chipset for sound plus selecting the specific patch from the installer, still no sound. Do you have any ideea how I can make it work?

Thank you.

Thanks so much for the help on this. I did what you said and it is all working great. I had the "Still waiting for root device" and now I am running the 10.5.5 without any glitches. Great work and thanks again.
