Pensive
Hi all - IdDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 is a great release, however its not quite working for me yet! MOBO: Asus P5k Premium Black Pearl CPU: Intel Core2Duo E6750 2x2.66 running @ 3.0Ghz for a year faultlessly RAM: 2Gb DDR2 HD:SATAs DVD: IDE Graf: ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT Aud: Creative X-FI Xtreme Audio - Onboard mobo sound disabled. Other: One Canopus EZDV card - legacy firewire gear for old format video captures. LAN : Onboard, and another realtek card, both enabled. FireWire: Onboard I have not set the SATA controller to AHCI yet as the installer works great. I tried two different kernels, default and ....another one which also supported SSE3 (i dont recall which one) I have installed it twice now flawlessly - on an extended partition on the same disk as my XP boot C: drive, slecting various options. When I reboot I set up the dualboot menu on my C drive, select Leopard and it restarts immediately. I then try again, press space for options and have to manually point it to use the MAc partition. Then it attempts to boot. -V reveals crashing at two possible points: 1) when the "JMicron" text pops up on screen 2) when "Asus P5k PRemium" text pops up. I have chosen the Jmicron compatible option during install. Any ideas? Can anyone tell me which options worked for them for any of these bits of hardware? IF I can combine all of your experience perhaps we can get this to work! IF it finds hardware it doesnt know (i.e. EZDV, XFI) what will it do - just ignore them? Thanks to the iDeneb team for giving me the opportunity to try this. Great job...... Long time PC user, First time OSX tester...... ironduke
I just installed this over my old install, I expected to start from fresh but all my old stuff and account was still there, the bad news is it appears to have changed my account to standard so I no longer have admin access, how can I change this please? madhias
I love iDeneb! Keep the good work going on! 10.5.4 worked nearly out of the Box with my Mobo (P5B-E), had to install only: - Orange Disk fix - ATI 2600 Pro Restart, Sleep and Shutdown works! But after fiddeling with JmicronATA.kext around it didn`t worked any more, had to install fixes. I hate my IDE DVD Drive, today i`m gonna buy a SATA Drive (hey, it is only 20€), and leave this IDE $%&§$% Then i try today the 10.5.5 release Greetings, a happy iDeneb fan! kmikase
I don't understand, I've the iDeneb v1.1 installed on my laptop, and it works great. The kernel is updated to the 9.5 But impossible to install the V1.3, i'm stuck during the first boot :'( Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/127841-ideneb-v13-1055-released/page/18/#findComment-953508 Share on other sites
Guest bkpatel7
Wonderful Install! Great Results I've had with this over Kalyway and iAtkos. Is iDeneb installation capable of doing Apple Software Updates through the Apple Software Update System w/o any issues? Thanks, Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/127841-ideneb-v13-1055-released/page/18/#findComment-955445 Share on other sites
madhias
Hay everyone, as i told before, i re-installed now the 10.5.5 Version instead of the 1.1 one, and it works similar to the old one! Perfect! I have bought a new SATA DVD Drive instead of my IDE drive, because all the JMicron Kexts are causing restart and shutdown problems. So i only had to install the Orange Disk fix and my Graphics Device (HD 2600 Pro). Sound isn`t working, but i don`t need it here now. I think i`m gonna buy in a few weeks a external Soundcard instead of my M-Audio 2496 Pci Card. Horay! Greetings! applehacker
I am happy to report that it boots on my Thinkpad T30! However, the installer crashes much too often as it installs. Kernel panics are never in the same place, so I really have no idea whats going on. If this is a fixable issue, please let me know! JohnAJ
hey ive tried installing this version a few times on my dell inspiron 1525 and each time i get the same result. I am able to successfully install this onto one of my partitions but when i reboot the screen goes black after showing the apple logo. I have installed kalyway 10.5.2 successfully before on this computer and with that version i had to let my computer sleep and then wake it up to finish the post installation. I have tried doing the same with ideneb v1.3 but each time it falls asleep the screen stays black even when my computer comes out of sleep. I can tell that the backlight on my lcd is on but there is no signal. I have tried installing it with the intel 3100 driver and without it. If anyone has any ideas where i could be going wrong it would be appreciated. Thanks. argotron
I have installed the latest iDeneb release and everything works fine: network, USB, system updates (from Apple) and sound (sound recording does not work, but I can live with that). I intend to use this release as my main OS, do you know any reason I shouldn't do it? Do you guys use iDeneb as your main OS? Any ideea if the updates from upstream (Apple) will stop wrking someday? When new iDeneb release appear, do I have to reinstall from scratch? Thank you. FishMate
Same here! Someone with a fix? The easiest way to fix your password being changed is to boot from the install cdrom (iDeneb 1.3) and after you have chosen the language go to top menu and chose "Password Reset". Rest the password to your liking and save. Exit the install. That should take care of things. FYI: If you are restoring from a time machine backup you have to do the same as well. Its an Apple implemented security measure Peace! buridda
hi all, sorry for posting here but really I've already googled so much and tried installing iDeneb 10.5.5 almost ten times now (and iAtkos, and Jas 10.5.4, and iDeneb 10.5.4).... but I still can't boot properly the osx install (that goes fine) because of my GMA900..... it is fully working with qe/ci under kalyway 10.5.2... but I see no point in using 10.5.2 when 10.5.5 is available and I am sure someone is running it fine with the gma 900. what I get is always the same {censored} blue screen when the install customizing wizard should appear.. always the same with and without the vga dongle/paperclip trick that works fine in kaly, and trying with -x -v -f. if I connect a external LCD monitor, what I get is a black screen on the built-in LCD, and "frequency out of range" on the external LCD. is there please someone so kind to explain me step-by-step how to get my laptop to boot properly with my gma 900 under 10.5.5? i'm really getting crazy with this.. thanks in advance, bye PS: isn't it possible to add a GMA900 driver directly in the OSX installer? JaS.. Layne_... don't forget us GMA 900 users please do something!! This card is fully working under Leopard since June 2008..... ChiefWiggum
Thanks for this release ! This is the best one I have used till now. Almost everything works straight away ! Only issue was sound : Initially no sound, then after some trawling throuh search I fixed it by adding the "ADS70" string into AppleAC97Audio.kext Now sounds better though the mp3s play a bit faster than normal , so sound a bit squeaky !
