iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 not working.

Installs fine. Tried many different customizations, no help.

On reboot, get's to apple screen and then "do not enter" logo appears.

Used Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD.

First custom install and it worked with networking. Sound and video patched.

system:

Gigabyte p35c-ds3r motherboard

8800gt 512mb

500gb wd hd

Any help. I have read a lot of other people experiencing this error, usually on installation. Have tried switching bios to AHCI before install and still no-go.

Pretty happy with current install though.

Tried iDeneb on my HP zv6000, system doesn't get passed "Waiting for root device", seems the AppleVIA drivers included on the DVD don't want to play nice (The ones on Kalyway 10.5.2 work just fine), same with Leo4allv2/3 and v5 (server 10.5.5).

I'm stuck at localhost mDNSResponder[28]: Couldn't read user specified... etc.

I have disabled onboard LAN, Audio, Firewire, IDE etc.

The only reply so far in this thread was someone mentioning "Attansic NET". What

the heck is that  there's no such thing in my BIOS.

System specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (3GHz).

MSI P35 Diamond (with modded BIOS, Kalyway 10.5.2 works with both cores).

Corsair 2x1024MB DDR3 1333 MHz.

Gigabyte 9600GT Heatpipe (062210de).

Western Digital SATA 500GB

Samsung S223Q SATA DVD-RW

BIOS-settings:

AHCI: on

HPET: Enabled

Execute bit: Enabled

Power saving mode: S3

MPS: 1.4

Using Vanilla-kernel and ICHx fix.

Is there really no one with the same problem as I have?

Safe mode works, but everytime I try a normal boot, it gets stuck at

"mDNSResponder[28]". When upgrading from Kalyway 10.5.2 instead

of doing a clean install, the message is different, but the problem

remains:

I get the same EXACT mDNSResponder error even when booting with safemode. I have to use the -f switch if I actually want to get to the log-in screen.

I even tried a clean install WITHOUT any ethernet however I still get this problem. It would be great if anyone knew what I could do to rid myself of this.

I have no connection to the INTERNET on this PC when booting up the hackintosh HDD.

AgeveOSX: did you get this problem using Kalyway? I've got an older motherboard, Asus p5w DH delux with WIFI. Support is supposed to be 100% for that board, I just can't figure it.

It smells like some ethernet related problem.

I removed the AppleRTL8169Ethernet.kext (or renamed it to fartingforfreedom.allo*) because

it was the last thing that appeared on the screen before freezing, but it made no difference.

I left it for over an hour but nothing happened.

thanks for the release! trying hard to make it work though :)

tried to install ideneb v1.3 several times (replacing kalyway, that had no lan & poor audio support) but after installation i couldn't boot it.

sometimes it freezes with 'still waiting for the root device' message, sometimes stops at mDNSResponder ping, doesn't boot with no internet connection either, or appears to have 'don't enter' sign on top of the apple when loading... doesn't boot in other words... had all the proper drivers chosen for the installation...

looks like a lot of people have the same issues with pretty different hardware configurations. there should be a solution for it.

i must admit that my chipset isn't nForce but JMicron so i'm wondering if relevant patch is applicable here?

C2D 6420

ASUS P5B+

2GB DDR 800

ATI x1950pro pci-e

2 Seagate SATA HDD's 300 / 400 GB one for XP one for MacOS

what would you suggest?

iDeneb 1.3 fails for me, but 1.1 works fine which I am using now and upgraded to 10.5.5 myself. Something must be up with the 1.3 DVD.

agreed.

I think there is problem with display config on v1.3.

with v1.3 we have to install injector for VGA to avoid iDeneb wont boot.

so if we want to use GFX string after install, then the injector should be removed.

But we dont have to select any VGA driver/injector on v1.1, iDeneb will boot normally.

so it could be helpful if added EFI/GFX strings on next release/ppf like iATKOS 4.1i th_iatkos41i_install.png <--click

I've tried installing this release on my system at least 20 times now, and I still cannot get it to work.

Upon booting, I either get:

- A kernel panic during the boot screen

- A "Do not enter" icon during the boot screen

- Or the boot screen simply freezes

My system specs are:

- DFI DK P35-T2RS Mobo

- Intel Xeon E3110

- 250GB Seagate Barracuda HDD

- 1GB Crucial Ballistix RAM

- EVGA GeForce 9600GT

Would anyone be able to recommend me some Customizations during the installation?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

I am new to the forum but very interested in running the mac os. I have installed iAtkos 4 on my system without any issues. It runs great. I have tried to install iDeneb 1.3 and after the install I get "Still Waiting for Root Device" I see many others are having the same results and am wondering if anyone knows why this is happening and how to fix it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Lindemann

Installed fine & worked great (for the most part). My DVD Drive that wasn't working with iDeneb 10.5.4 now worked in 10.5.5 but my internet (wired) via my Intel PRO Wireless drivers (ethernet) stopped. So I downgraded to 10.5.4 & now my DVD drive still works & now my internet is back as well. Funny thing was that both installers to me were the same...

AFAIK.. currently no driver for 9600GT, it will run in VESA mode only without CI & QE. ~CMIIW~

so you should change your VGA. I suggest to use VGA that support EFI strings.

you can add EFI strings with OSX86Tools by PCWiz, here is the list http://paste2.org/p/89657

But if you still with 9600GT, then try iDeneb v1.1.

Hi, i'm thinking about installing this!

SPECS:

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-N650SLI-DS4L (nV chipset)

Memory: 2GB

Processor: Core2Duo 1.8GHz (@2.52GHz OC)

Graphics: NVidia 8600GTS 256MB

Network card: RT8139? i think

Does anyone have any idea if this will work, at all? I've tried and did suceed on iAtkos i think but this was a while ago, had problems with network card (dropping out) and could never get my graphics to work!?

Cheers... Any tip on the GFX would be nice!
