When I Reboot nothing happens. Can someone help me?

Best regards

Slum, are you using the x1000 kext, for x1000 cards the 9700 one wont work if you are using x1000, have you tried a hex edit?

Hi:

I have a ATI X1300 pro card. Where can I get teh x0-1000 kext. And do you know if CE and QI will work for this card? Thanks

This is in reply to what I said about x1000. the x1000 kext was only added in the 10.4.4 release so to use it you have to have .4 or .5 . It should work on pretty much any x1000 series card. just add ur device id to the info.plist in the kext. if that doesn't work, you may have to hex edit the binary. I don't have networking in mac so I can't provide the kext, you will just have to upgrade to 10.4.4 sry.

hope this helps

I followed this ...

Please keep in mind that the above guide refers to Moss' X850 XT - in order to match your Radeon card you have to modify steps 4 and 10 according to the device ID (5653 should be correct).

Neolein, what card do you have and what is your device id, if you have an x1000 card, you have to use the x1000 kext. and an x850xt 5d52 will not work. but otherwise it should work.

I uses the Ati Radeon X700 128Mb mobility. In Windows the Device ID is 5653 and in apple it's the same.

2 Steps in the guide does not work:

14. Enter "

" (enter)

15. Enter "

" (enter)

but I do not think that these are important steps, are they?

Actually, these steps are important but they can be confusing. I found a way to do it manualy though. Just go to /system/library and you should see 2 files in there, one is extensions.kextcache and the other is extensions.mkext select both of them and drag them to the trash. doing this is the same as doing 14. and 15. (its important to do because if not mac won't reconise any change in the kext) then repair perms reboot and good luck.

Hi,

I have a laptop Asus A6Ja with an ATI Mobility Radeon x1600

Did anyone know if it's working ?

I've tried to add 0x71C51002 in ATIx1000.kext but it didn't work.

Any suggestion ? Here is what MacOS tells me.

Type: VGA-Compatible Controller

Bus: PCI

Slot: PCI

Vendor ID: 0x1002

Device ID: 0x71c5

Subsystem Vendor ID: 0x1043

Subsystem ID: 0x10b2

Revision ID: 0x0000

I have tried with my ATI Radeon X130 PIC-e 256MB DDR2 and it freezes after restart.

I did all things after check my graphics board ID and... Freezes! Then I replace the edited ATIRadeon9700.kext with the original.

I have added on com.apple.Boot.plist these two lines:

<key>Graphics Mode</key>

<string>1280x1024x32</string>

My graphics board information:

Type: VGA-Compatible Controller

Bus: PCIe

VRAM (Total): 256 MB

Vendor: ATI (0x1002)

Device ID: 0x7146

Revision ID: 0x0000

Kernel Extension Info: No Kext Loaded

Displays:

Display:

Resolution: 1280 x 1024

Depth: 32-bit Color

Core Image: Not Supported

Main Display: Yes

Mirror: Off

Online: Yes

Quartz Extreme: Not Supported

I have used to patch:

sudo ./patch9700.sh 71 46

and on ATIRadeon9700.kext I edited 0x5E4B1002 to 0x71461002.

So, what is wrong???

I dont understand, after type in terminal this command : "kextcache -k /System/Library/Extensions"

I have this message :

"2006-04-02 13:37:22.498 kextcache[525] CFLog (0):

CFPropertyListCreateFromXMLData(): plist parse failed; the data is not proper UTF-8. The file name for this data could be:

(UNKNOWN)

The parser will retry as in 10.2, but the problem should be corrected in the plist."

Whats wrong ??

ps : scuse me for my ba english, i'm french ...

bonne chance

English Translation,

Rereduck, there is another way to do the confusing command, kextcache -k /System/Library/Extensions, it doesn't always seem to work. Instead, you can go to /system/library and find 2 files called extensions.kextcache and the other is extensions.mkext. select these 2 files and drag em to the trash. doing this is the equivilent of doing that command and it really helped me.

good luck
