  3. Active researches are being done for years, but still no success in acceleration. As you said, shl628 succeeded in booting without acceleration. And he also succeeded in loading framebuffers. All we have to do is to wait, you know. macOS Drivers for Iris Xe hasn't ever been provided unlike Radeon GPUs.
  4. I was searching for more info about differences between 35W and 65W HP EliteDesk Mini motherboards and found this discussion. As my testing demonstrated, the i7-8700 (65W TDP) does NOT run reliably on the 35W board. My testing has also shown that a 65W board will not work at all without the three MOSFETs and Power Inductor Choke Coil that are missing from the 35W board. I'd like to test a 35W board after adding the missing VRM components, but I don't want to remove them (again) from my one spare 65W board. Is there anyone with knowledge about discrete components who can provide sourcing information about the VRM parts that are missing from the 35W board (listed below)? Does the Primary and Secondary identifier of the parts need to be an exact match? MOSFET: Manufacturer: Alpha Omega Silicon, Primary Identifier: 6414a, Secondary identifier: GL9B4B, Quantity: 1 MOSFET: Manufacturer: Alpha Omega Silicon, Primary Identifier: 6794, Secondary Identifier: GV9G1T, Quantity: 2 R22 0.22UH/R22 SMT Power Inductor Choke Coil, Quantity: 1 I have found similar parts on AliExpress and other sites, but the MOSFETs have a secondary identifier that I listed above and I don't know if I need to match the secondary identifier. For example, I have found MOSFETs manufactured by Alpha Omega Silicon with Primary Identifier 6414a, but not with the secondary identifier GL9B4B. I don't know if I need to find exact primary and secondary identifier matches when ordering the parts, or if it is sufficient to match only the primary identifier. Thanks in advance for any help. If I can order the missing parts, I'll solder them to a 35W board and test again with an i7-8700. EDIT: Photos of actual components R22 6414a 6794
  5. Enterprise: Jooyontech, South Korea Model : J6F CPU : Ryzen 5 4500U GPU : Radeon Vega(APU) Motherboard : Clevo 6-71-NL5R0-D02 Audio: Realtek ALC293 OS : macOS Ventura on OpenCore 1.0.0 ' What works : Graphics Acceleration by NootedRed.kext Internal Speaker Output by AppleALC.kext Battery Detection with ACPI Patch Wifi via USB Dongle Trackpad with Multitouch & Gestures by VoodooI2C.kext(polling mode) Though Korean enterprise Jooyontech would be unfamiliar, this laptop uses a Clevo motherboard. So, it's not so different than Clevo laptops. I bought this crippled(?) laptop for cheap, and it works flawlessly even on HDMI. I'm attaching an Aliexpress LCD soon to make it a budget MacBook
  6. See ioreg how devices connected each other. Anyway your TB is not Apple TB.
  7. Hello everyone, I set up a triple boot between Windows, macOS and Linux and unfortunately my Linux installation comes up on boot as Nobara-0.39-Linux-latest-whatever instead of a simple Linux label. How would I go about to change its boot label?

    Opencore MOD

If at all possible go ahead and install Windows first, but remove the Drive you intend to install Sonoma. The reason is, Windows tends to put if not all but part of it's boot files onto any other Drives it finds which could cause problems. After the successful Windows install, you can proceed to install macOS. At this point there is really no need to remove the Windows Drive for the macOS install but if you're feeling cautious, you can just to be safe. For future reference, it will be more helpful if you gave a full list of your specs attached to your signature. That way it helps other members to give affirmative ideas/tips to your queries, also helps you from forever listing them with your posts. Good luck on your project, we are all here to help in anyway possible.
  9. Ok, I see tutorial here https://www.olarila.com/topic/24542-opencore-no-acpi-how-to-use-this-fork/ That sounds like what I need. Though would be great if regular oc could be made to work this way.

    Opencore MOD

Hi, I am trying to figure out best way to use opencore to boot windows 11 and Sonoma where CPU is 14700k. For Sonoma I need bootarg -wegnoigpu. But that will mess up windows if OC launches it. So someone suggested opencore mod, I also see here windows_install_app. Is there preferred choice in my situation? For what it is worth, I have separate SSDs and am installing windows first.

  13. Hi - If I understand your query correctly, you can find the OCAT app here - https://github.com/ic005k/OCAuxiliaryTools If you're asking about OC 1.0.1 version, follow @Anto65 post above.
  14. Would these sorts of devices allow one to truly test functionality? If I use tb to USB adapter and a USB device plugged in works, is it guaranteed that it is working via functioning tb, versus working by virtue of the interconnect compatibility between USB and tb?
  15. You should think nothing. Just use buildme. The default toolchain is GCC131. If you have no gcc then buildme will create new one from sources 14.1. Without asking you "do you want version 13 or 14?". With what version of xcode do you really use XCODE5 toolset? Did you ask Acidanthera about Xcode version? Toolset is toolset and it has own enumeration.
  16. Thanks @Mieze, good advice. I wouldn't want to waste any more money on this. After more digging around on my system looking at DMAR and VT-d I'm coming back around to suspecting that the kext patch needs an update. EDIT: I downloaded the installers for 14.5 and 14.4.1 and am currently comparing the binaries for the kext in question. 0F845003 0000 is still in the binary for 14.5. I'll keep looking...
  17. @J Lamp The Sonet Solo is whitelisted in the Aquantia driver which makes it an OOB solution but it has a sever thermal issue. I bought one 3 years ago but it didn't survive a single week in my home server where it replaced an ASUS card which used to work flawlessly more than 2 years in the same slot. No need to explain that the card was returned immediately. This was also the reason why I switched to Intel X520-DA1 with fiber optics SFP+modules or DAC cables.
  18. @Slice, thanks for the link to the DMAR discussion. I've got a feeling that this is where the issue lies after the update. I'm still looking into it. @etorix, I appreciate the alternate card suggestions. I'd rather not spend money on this, but this card has stopped working so many times after updates that it may simply be time to try something else. If either of you or anyone else can clue me in on how to extract the binary from the prebuilt partition I can look into seeing if the patch has changed. What I find interesting is that a AQC107s https://www.sonnettech.com/product/solo10g-pcie-card.html apparently does work (in real macs anyway.) The "s" supposedly stands for security (I don't know what exactly that means in context of the hardware itself.) Macs are supposed to load the firmware on an AQC in a similar fashion to what they did with Broadcom hardware. Maybe the issue is that the card isn't getting the firmware properly?
  19. Download OC 1.0.1 from here https://dortania.github.io/builds/?product=OpenCorePkg&viewall=true&version=1.0.1&sha=7af12eca7814565a66a2fc9bb260c817f0952e65 Import then to OCAT https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pdSfFr6zN-vpQ-WhPoERUWqZ3tuTu1Cq/view?usp=drive_link
  20. where did you get the 1.0.1 version of OCAT? I can only find the version for OCAT 0.95 from December 2023.

  22. What would be advantage? The git page doesn't seem to have much in the readme. Thanks
  23. I don't understand what you means. Can you explain (I'm a newbie, sorry)?
