  1. PREFACE I’ve used a 2015 15” MBP as my main system since it was released. I do photo and video editing in the Adobe suite regularly and have been eyeballing the performance of the latest MBP models. I’m on the road all the time, so a laptop is basically my only option. After the whole mess with the CPU VRM hardware flaws being made apparent by the poor power management profile shipped at release with the 2018 i9 MBP I’ve been more weary of the hardware design of MacBooks. That’s before I account for losing all USB-A ports, losing the SD card slot (‽), losing reliability and tactility of the keyboard, and losing the ESC key to the touchbar; if I compare the 2018 MBP to my current 2015. Given these flaws, I have been researching the performance situation comparing the 2018 MBP to the X1 Extreme, XPS 15 9570, and the Razer Blade 15 2018. These are essentially the only options for a road warrior that needs a high quality panel and the best CPU and GPU that can be crammed into around 4lbs (1.8kg). I used to use a ThinkPad T42p and loved it when it was new. So fast forward to now and the release of the ThinkPad X1 Extreme. It’s a truly tempting machine for an artist, given that the 4K UHD version offers just about the best color gamut available on any laptop panel. I get back the USB-A ports, get one of the fastest SD slots on any laptop, and get one of the best laptop keyboards on the market. That’s before even considering power management and modularity. I’ve been dabbling in learning Machine Learning, so a system with an nVidia GPU (CUDA) is a bonus on that front as well. For me the best color reproduction on a high resolution display panel was most important. The X1 Extreme has that, so I’ve ordered one. I got it with the fastest i7, base SSD and memory, and have separately purchased two 1TB Samsung 970 Pro M.2 SSDs and 2x16GB DDR4-3200MHz memory (just in case it’s possible to overclock the memory on the X1 Extreme). I got the system for $2,100 from Lenovo USA, and the SSDs ($390 x 2) and memory ($330) from Amazon US for a total of ~$3200. These are easy to install on the X1 Extreme as the bottom cover is easily removed to reveal the M.2 and SODIMM slots. To compare, the 2018 MBP with the fastest i7, 32GB memory, and 2TB SSD is $4400. So I can save $1200 and get a faster system (on all counts) with a better panel and better connectivity by going with the X1 Extreme. The only thing I’m compromising is losing the big beautiful haptic touchpad and a bit more refined hardware aesthetic. Though, to be honest, I’ve kept a big thick dual-layer Tech21 case on my 2015 MBP. So I’ll actually be going down in volume and weight by moving to the more rugged ThinkPad. I think I can live without the touchpad. Oh, by the way, the 4K UHD panel of the X1 Extreme has touch and decent pen support! Another bonus vs. the MacBook. Though I keep a 12.9” iPad Pro around for my pen work and can’t imagine using a laptop similarly. It’s still nice to have a laptop screen actually respond when I go poke at it accidentally after switching back and forth between laptop and iPad. TOPIC So I want macOS with proper discrete GPU support on a 2018 MacBook class laptop. That’s not possible on a pure Hackintosh as things stand, but via a macOS virtual machine it looks like it could work with what looks like some relatively bleeding edge support of PCIe UEFI passthrough. People have been doing this on Linux hosts to Windows VMs with some great success recently: https://gist.github.com/Misairu-G/616f7b2756c488148b7309addc940b28 And it looks like that’s coming for macOS VMs as well: https://github.com/kholia/OSX-KVM/blob/a4fb2fd5aae871bdbc371b0cd31d4d8129d0f9ac/UEFI/README.md The X1 Extreme, XPS 15 9570, and Razer Blade 15 (2018) are essentially direct competition to the 2018 15” MBP. I would really like to see these three systems get some nicely fleshed out guides for getting maxed out compatibility and performance in macOS running in a VM for these systems. When I get my X1 Extreme I’ll start working on it for that one. I will post updates here. I hope to inspire others with the other two systems (or looking to get them) to do similarly. 15” MACBOOK CLASS LAPTOP COMPARISON I chose the X1 Extreme largely because of the excellent 4K UHD HDR panel (100% of 2D AdobeRGB and 85.5% of 3D AdobeRGB, basically unparalleled), good mix of thermal performance and noise management, and overall ruggedness and connectivity. If I were a gamer I would go with the Razer 15, but the fast low-gamut 1080p panel just doesn’t work for my purposes. If I were most concerned with aesthetics or battery life (97Wh battery for it vs 80Wh for X1E) I would go with the XPS 15. I am aware that the second 2018 refresh of the MBP is coming ~Nov 14, with the new AMD Radeon Pro Vega 16 and Vega 20 GPUs, and it looks like the latter might offer up to a 60% performance boost over the Radeon 560X. Maybe it has even given Apple enough time to update the CPU VRM along the way. This could make the performance picture more comparable for the 1050 Ti based X1E and XPS 15. I believe the 1070 Ti based Razer 15 will still win out though. Still, if you compare the fan and heat pipe solution put into the X1E vs the MBP the MBP just looks wimpy in comparison. MBP has smaller fans, less venting, and only one (smaller, thinner) heatpipe. It’s also more difficult to access if you want to put a better thermal paste or liquid metal on it. Put simply, the thermal hardware on the MBP is basically the same design for the last 3 years and it can’t keep up with the hex-core processors. So even with the Volta 20 GPU making the MBP competitive again on the graphics end, the MBP will still be falling short on the CPU performance plane. This is before we even look at tuning options. Getting into tuning, it’s possible to improve thermal performance of all the laptops in this class by around 15-20% by using either a best in class thermal paste like Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut or (if you’re willing to deal with all the caveats that come with using a conductive fluid that permeates other metals) a liquid metal interface like Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut. The liquid metal gives you the best possible conducting interface, and the paste is more forgiving and easier to apply. Further, it is often possible to stably undervolt the Coffee Lake i7/i9 available in this class of systems to further improve performance, thermals, and power consumption (generally another 10+%). Apple has deliberately made it impossible to undervolt the CPU on the MBP! This has been true since the first Skylake CPUs a few years ago. You used to be able to use a program called Volta to undervolt your CPU on macOS. This is a huge peeve for me and, combined with the general power and thermal underdevelopment, is one of the main reasons I want to get a competitor’s hardware. As a primer, the default voltage of modern CPUs is typically set conservatively high for the sake of production efficiency. With the current generation Coffee Lake CPUs it is commonly possible to set the CPU voltage about 100 to 150mv lower safely. This allows the CPU to run cooler and consume less power. For laptops which are thermally limited (basically everything in this new 6-core 14nm era), this also translates into better performance. It’s a tweak that actually improves reliability of your CPU. So it’s just stupid that Apple has deliberately made this impossible. Shame on them, someone else take my money. Wrapping up, my biggest quibbles with the X1E (before actually getting it) are that the 4K panel’s responsiveness is about the slowest I’ve seen on a modern panel, and it’s just really not suitable for gaming. There’s also what I consider an annoyingly high level of backlight corner bleed that I’m sure will be distracting during blackboxed video viewing. Hopefully these two issues will be fixed in next year’s iteration. FOOTNOTES MacBook i9 Thermal / VRM (below-baseline throttling/thrashing) Issue: https://www.macrumors.com/2018/07/24/throttling-i9-macbook-pro-power-delivery-chip/ https://www.kitguru.net/lifestyle/mobile/apple/matthew-wilson/macbook-pro-2018-throttling-fix/ This was mitigated with software that works around the poor hardware design, but the system would still ultimately perform better if the CPU VRM were redesigned. Non Mac systems with the similar CPUs don’t have this issue and get better sustained performance. 2. So. My laptop: Asus k55a I installed Mac OS X on the pendrive and now when I turn on the laptop and clicking esc bios it does not detect it. And now I have a question for you what settings I should set up to make everything good
  3. I successfully installed macOS 10.11.6 and Windows 7 Pro SP1 in UEFI mode on the laptop. I know, there are detailed guides here and on osxlatitude.com but I was not agree with them and carefully check and test every step to tune my Mac. Hardware Intel® Core™ i5-3320M CPU @ 2.60GHz, speedstep works with Clover default settings Chipset Intel 7 series, no patches needed Video: IntelHD4000 or NVS5200M switchable in BIOS, work in both cases LAN; Intel 82579LM, works with IntelMausiEthernet.kext v2.2.1 Audio: IDT 92HD93BXX, works with VoodooHDA 2.9.0. SDHC reader O2Micro; works with native AppleSDHC.kext with Clover Arbitrary properties. USB3.0 works natively if not disabled in DSDT PS2 keyboard and touchpad works with VoodooPS2. WiFi: Dell Intel WiFi was replaced by Dell DW1520, Broadcom BCM943224HMS. DeviceID=4353 LCD Screen 1366x768 BIOS A12. Initially was A02. Then I flashed A23 and found it is quite bad. The screen is full of artefacts. Flash A12 and all is OK. Not tested other versions. For some reason BIOS can switched from Intel to Nvidia by itself so I have to do my solution working independent on this state. WiFi It is not working OOB although it has DeviceID known to Apple. The reason is WhiteList in the driver. I set MacModel as MacBookPro10,1 while the WiFi will work on MacBookAir. I make a patch in Clover. As well a patch for channels. I deleted a kext Brcm4331 because it has the same DeviceID. Let kext Brcm4360 to work alone. VideoCards In Bios we can set Optimus = Enable/Disable If Enable then we have two videocards Intel first and Nvidia second. In this case additional SSDT-3.aml will switch off Nvidia. If Disable then we have only Nvidia card. It will work if Board-ID taken from iMac13,2. But here there is contradiction with WiFi with required Board-ID from MacBookAir. So I take MacModel as MacBookPro10,1 which is most close by CPU IvyBridge. Set BoardID like iMac13,2 to make Nvidia working. Patch BoardID in Brcm4360 to make WiFi working. Now I have Inject-> ->Intel=YES ->Nvidia=YES and SSDT-3.aml in ACPI\patched folder. This SSDT will switch off Nvidia if Intel card ON. For Intel graphics there is a patch against 8 apples at start. Brightness No special kexts. The brightness controlled by keys F1,F2 and slider in Control Panel in both case Intel or Nvidia. Details here #72 DSDT and SSDT This is very long story and finally I have working sleep in both cases Intel or Nvidia. Sensors I use my HWSensors3 with FakeSMC 3.5.0. I got monitoring: CPU temperature GPU temperature GPU main frequency GPU shader frequency Battery state % full, time to charged or time to empty. Battery voltage dinamically. Battery amperage dynamically. I can see it changes on heavy games. HDD temperature. Audio I like VoodooHDA and have no problems with it. The sound is clear, loud, and switchable between internal speaker and headphone. Mic is working. Bluetooth Just tested with BTFirmwareUpdate.kext and it works. I not needed it so switched off by wireless switch at right side. Keyboard, Touchpad and Touchstick Post #14 My config, ACPI files and kexts are in attachment. 05.12.2017 EFI.7z EDITED: Better DSDT in the post #6. Sleep working even when AC inserted. Welcome to discussion!
  4. I can't connect the phone. I tried some ways but no changes. config.plist and information screenshoot attached. I am new so please forgive for information mistakes. **SOLVED** I just changed device information in config.plit (smbios) It should be matched my build, iMac 14,2 just fine right now. config.plist
  5. If you have a working Brightness Slider and you might be using Brightness slider or manual hotkeys to control brightness then this guide may help you to use your Native hotkeys of laptop. (All the Credits goes to @RehabMan For OS-X-ACPI-Debug Kext and DSDT Patches.) This step assumes that you are using RehabMan's VoodooPS2Controller Install the kext: https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-ACPI-Debug Open MaciASL and click on patch.(Add rehab man repo) Apply "Add DSDT Debug Methods" and "Instrument EC Queries" that are under Brightness Fix. Save the DSDT and restart Look in Syslog as you press the key corresponding to brightness to determine which _QXX methods handle the keys Then patch DSDT: into method label _Q1D replace_content begin // Brightness Down\n Notify(\_SB.PCI0.LPCB.PS2M, 0x0205)\n Notify(\_SB.PCI0.LPCB.PS2M, 0x0285)\n end; into method label _Q1C replace_content begin // Brightness Up\n Notify(\_SB.PCI0.LPCB.PS2M, 0x0206)\n Notify(\_SB.PCI0.LPCB.PS2M, 0x0286)\n end; Change the variable _Q1D/_Q1C as per the log. 7. Try compiling and check if it generates errors 8. If it does, then change the PS2M to PS2X according to the one found in your DSDT 9. Save and place the compiled DSDT. 10. Now you should see that you have your corresponding keys to change your brightness FOR more detail and Queries,Check Out original Post of @RehabMan Here; http://www.insanelym...18#entry1997112 Get Latest Version of OS-X-ACPI-Debug kext here: https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan/os-x-acpi-debug/downloads
  6. System Info: https://docs.google.com/document/d/19HOzEFDKS64fI-JkpOQDayzA1RVQLutf_geucNMtiLQ/edit?usp=sharing Let's say: I'm trying to create a Bootable Hackintosh USB for Mac OS High Sierra [Latest Stable Version], and I'm using a Virtual Machine [with Mac OS High Sierra] on my Windows 10. Specific Questions: What BIOS Settings should I change for - LENOVO Motherboard BIOS? What should I keep in mind when using a Virtual Machine [MacOS] for the Bootable USB Creation Process? Should I use Clover EFI Bootloader or Clover Configurator, or Both? What settings should I change change in those? Does it matter which version(s) of Clover Sofwares I use? Will they support USB Creation for ALL versions of MAC Operating Systems? [Or do they only support some versions of Mac OS?] Thanks in Advance for your help!

    Cannot change TrackPoint speed T420s

I have VoodooPS2 kext installed. Tried to google the solution but only found changing MouseMultipliers which won't help - I changed all of them, tried to set around 3x times bigger values, rebuild kext cache, replaced the ones in EFI, rebooted but nothing changed, TrackPoint is still slow. Is there any other way to do it? I'm also attaching my problem_reporting files. debug_30176.zip
  8. Hi. I have a Lenovo Z510-b Laptop which I wanted to Hackintosh.this is my first one so I'm a newbie and don't kjow much. I did the process using an easy guide on Hackintosh zone which all I needed to do was to restore a pre maid installer on a usb disk and then boot ETC. After installation, I have faced several issues which I have managed to fix some of them gradually, but there are some I couldn't make it work: GRAPHICS: first of all lets talk about my main issue. The macOS only recognizes 4MB of my igpu and I can't make any difference. ( ill say what I have done for it so far) and for my Nvidia graphic I think it won't go so well ( after screwing my laptop up for 3 times) because I only have discrete or igpu option in my bios. ( discrete AFA I heard won't work) so im mainly hoping for my igpu. Things I have done for igpu: Have installed: FakePCIID_Intel_HD_Graphics.kext FakePCIID.kext intelGraphicsFixup.kext.kext using M u L Ti Be a St Have done clover settings: in devices tab,IntelGfx: 0x4128086 in Graphics tab, ig-platform-id: 0x0a260006 ( inject EDID and inject Intel checked) have checked fix intelgfx in api tab under fixes section * I even set the VRAM box in graphics tab to like 64 or 256 to see if it changes anything although I don't really know what is that for lol* PS: my bios doesn't have any option to set Vram like some guides suggest. AUDIO: this should be a minor issue. I do have the audio working using "M u L Ti Be_a St "and re booting after installing "100/200/300 series Audio Support" under "Realtek ALCxxx" section under audio tab under drivers section. but when I restart again, it just goes off! the installation suggests "Adds Rename HDAS to HDEF patch to /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/config.plist." but I had( and still have) this patch in my acpi section! so I don't know what is the deal there; but I think its minor. Sorry for long text. I really hope you could help me out. I will now send you the information you need about my laptop specs and will attach my problem reporting files which I made using the script rehab man has suggested. NOTE : I get some warnings and errors during boot (verbous) although it boots perfectly, but I don't know if those are included in my problem reporting file or not, or whether it is important at all or not.but I haven't seen any errors there relating to graphics. ( I might be wrong tho). My laptop: Lenovo Z510 Inel Core i7 4702MQ Intel HD 4600 Nvidia Geforce GT740M Realtek Audio ( I thing its 230) Realtek Ethernet Intel Wi-fi ( obviously couldn't make it work) Thanks in advance! debug_3979.zip
10. Hello everyone! Last week I received my Broadcom BCM94352Z (model DW1560) from Newegg, installed it into my Dell Inspiron 5558, and I can't get it to work in macOS 10.13.5. I thought that I might have received a knockoff, so I tried it in Linux Mint, and it recognized it as a BCM4352 and worked perfectly! I've tried almost everything I could find online and nothing is working (see below). Any help would be greatly appreciated! Methods I Tried: FakePCIID, FakePCIID_Broadcom_WiFi, BrcmPatchRAM2, BrcmFirmwareRepo I've also used AirportBrcmFixup and BrcmFirmwareData when injecting with Clover Laptop Specifications (Closest to MacBookAir 17,1, using SMBIOS for MacBook Pro 12,1) Intel Core i5-5250U Intel HD 6000 Graphics 8GB RAM 1 TB Hard Drive ALC3234 (apparently equivalent to ALC255 according to the net) Originally Intel Wireless, now BCM94352Z
  11. Hello everybody, it’s been a long long time since my last post here on this forum, I’m having a lot of issues trying to activate my graphic card, the system recognizes the graphic card but there’s not full acceleration, clearly shows up its name as Intel graphics HD 3000 with only 4 MB of video ram. I would like to know how I could fix this problem or a least any suggestion about it. The reason I came to this site one more time is because I have no clue how to edit or patch a DSDt.aml file, I have clover bootloader and still (seems to be easy but not for me LOL) so I don’t want to ruin the system once again. My configuration is OS macOS High Sierra 10.13 SAMSUNG series 3 NP300E5C-A0US INTEL CORE i3 - 2370M 2.4 GHz INTEL GRAPHICS HD 3000 WiFi ATHEROS AR5B95 MEMORY 6 GB DDR3 Wifi works *** Sound Works ***Ethernet Works*** Battery indicators and trackpad gestures are not working yet. Thank you guys in advance, I’ll keep myself reading and searching for any kind of solution for my laptop.. See attachment bootlog.txt CLOVER.zip DSDT.aml
  12. Hello everyone, I have an Asus gl502vmk (i7 kabylake + GTX 1060 6 gb) laptop and I tried all the patches/kexts to get the brightness with fn keys/touchpad (I2C ELAN 1200 works with VooDoo I2C kext v1.0 but no gestures/preference pane)/Keyboard backlight to work but no success so far, any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance. [EDIT] (10/04/2018) Battery status now works, thanks to @RehabMan turned out to be incorrect SMBIOS (used iMac instead of Mbp) lol, but it drains crazy fast (~1.5 - 2 hours while on standby (all apps quited!), on windows 10 it lasts 4 - 5 hours, and on linux it lasts 6 ~ 7 hours!) And with VoodooI2C v2.0.1 + VoodooI2CHID kext and patched DSDT, the touchpad is now detected in the sys pref pane but still no input. Sound works with VoodooHDA v2.9.1, but the only issue is that the jack sense isn't working (the output device doesn't auto switch to headphone when connected) [EDIT 2] (11/04/2018) The system brightness now works thanks to @onejay09 but I have no brightness slider, and there are 4 extra brightness levels (brightness stops increasing after 12 levels) and the brightness keys are not mapped correctly, plus the brightness decreases when I plug in the ac adapter, then increases if I unplug it???, the brightness level isn't also saved after reboot. battery still drains crazy fast (~1.5 - 2 hours, even with brightness at 50%, so apparently it is a power management issue). and I also have shutdowns while in sleep mode (I tried darkwake=10 and darkwake-0 and darkwake=no) P.S. I have uploaded my new report files, thanks! Latest report files (11/04/2018): https://www95.zippyshare.com/v/AMOpP0AY/file.html

    USB Realtek Card Reader

Grazie a tutti

    Laptop can't sleep

Hello, guys! I've installed sierra on my laptop ASUS K551LB-XX249 for like two week ago and still can't solve sleeping problem. I'm using UEFI clover and here's what pmset -g assertions says: Assertion status system-wide: BackgroundTask 0 ApplePushServiceTask 0 UserIsActive 1 PreventUserIdleDisplaySleep 0 PreventSystemSleep 0 ExternalMedia 0 PreventUserIdleSystemSleep 0 NetworkClientActive 0 Listed by owning process: pid 100(hidd): [0x000000d20009804d] 00:08:41 UserIsActive named: "com.apple.iohideventsystem.queue.tickle.4294968024.3" Timeout will fire in 1798 secs Action=TimeoutActionRelease Kernel Assertions: 0x4=USB id=500 level=255 0x4=USB mod=01/01/1970, 07:00 description=com.apple.usb.externaldevice.1d100000 owner=IOUSBHostDevice id=502 level=255 0x4=USB mod=01/01/1970, 07:00 description=com.apple.usb.externaldevice.14500000 owner=USB2.0 HD UVC WebCam id=503 level=255 0x4=USB mod=01/01/1970, 07:00 description=com.apple.usb.externaldevice.14700000 owner=USB2.0-CRW id=504 level=255 0x4=USB mod=01/01/1970, 07:00 description=com.apple.usb.externaldevice.1d130000 owner=802.11n WLAN Adapter id=505 level=255 0x4=USB mod=01/01/1970, 07:00 description=com.apple.usb.externaldevice.14400000 owner=Bluetooth USB Host Controller id=506 level=255 0x4=USB mod=01/01/1970, 07:00 description=com.apple.usb.externaldevice.14100000 owner=USB Device Idle sleep preventers: IODisplayWrangler When I click on "sleep" button, my screen shuts off, sound disappears and that all. Numlock light and others doesn't turn off and when I push any key system wakes up. I guess problem is in my usb, but I patched DSDT some times, but it gave simply nothing.
  15. So i'm trying to install OSX 10.4 Tiger (patched for intel cpus) on a 9 year old laptop, so far i've burnt a DVD and tried to boot from it, when not starting with -v it loads and then a prohibited sign shows up, and when starting with -v it keeps saying "still waiting for root device", i've tried multipile fixes and none of them work, and im sure there isnt a problem with the computer as it also fails to boot on my core 2 duo machine, so is it possible one of you guys knows how to fix this? Thanks in advance!

A good Hack laptop below $800?

Hello All, I'm looking for a laptop to buy for Hackintoshing, with a budget of $800. The primary use for it is Logic X, web surfing, Photoshop, sometimes occasional video editing. I have been looking through local catalogs to no avail, but most of the laptops out there carry AMD graphics nowadays which AFAIK don't work on OSX anymore? Maybe someone knows a good laptop under $800 that can run OSX and Logic well? Many thanks in advance!
  17. I think the section of this forum that specializes in laptops and OSx86 should have its name changed to Laptop section. Having Notebook and Netbook is very confusing Do you agree?

  19. Hi to all This is my first time to attempt a DSDT patch but even if I read some guides using MaciASL I still don't know how to proceed. Before using Yosemite, I used VoodooBattery on Mavericks, but this solution is not working anymore. So I'm asking for some help in order to get battery management status. Also, for webcam (HP Truevision HD) that never worked even on Mavericks. Any help will be appreciated Thanks a lot
  20. hey guys my dell inspiron 13 laptop (with windows 8) wont boot to the installer, i tried everything first i tried using ##### the it was stuck at the apple logo and woudnt show a little progress bar and the usb isnt flashing then it didnt even show like the boot options it just boots directly to os x as i have remembered then i tried clover which shows nothing at all even when i used verbose, single user and graphicsenabler=no and i was using mac os x 10.10.3 which has some support for broadwell so hope you guys reply soon laptop specs: Intel Core i7 5500u (broadwell) intel HD Graphics 5500 8GB DDR3 RAM 1TB 7200 rpm hard drive 1920x1080 display (with foldback hinge) i checked the specs they seem to be compatible with the latest mac os x release
  21. Currently trying to get OS X on my HP Pavilion 15-p200 Series. Have an i3-5010U, a Broadwell chip with HD 5500 Graphics. No nVidia or AMD graphics cards, just built in. Should be able to run OS X? But I'm pretty stuck. Clover doesn't want to run anything - black screens after choosing device. Chimera loads kernel, but gives ACPI errors. Think I need a kernel patched for Broadwell CPUs? Currently using one copied over from my Mac Mini (2012, i5) since El Capitan doesn't come with one. Edit: Yosemite 10.10.3 kernel Any ideas?
Spero possiate aiutarmi

  25. Hi guys! Im posting this because there's something really wrong with sleep in el capitan... I had a very nice install of Mavericks, with everything working, including sleep.. I have made a new fresh install of EL Capitan, and while performance is pretty much better, i have a big issue. Every time i put the laptop to sleep the screen just goes black, and the lights remain on. There's no instant wake problem, but the onlyway to get out of the black screen state is forcing the shutdown. I've been reading RehabMan's post about 10.11 USB changes and solutions, but i am a bit lost. I have no problem with doing DSDT patching or whatever would be necessary to solve this issue, it's just that there are many alternatives to solve it and I don't wanna mess up the install. Could anyone kindly guide me to what would be the best procedure to follow? My DSDT has been freshly patched, and i followed Rehabmans advice to not use multiplex patch, nor GenericUSBXHCI kext. Anyone would help? Thanks in advance PS: The only USB patch i used for the DSDT was the USB7/8 series patch
