Yeah I know, but for me the HD3000 only shows in macOS when I booted from it (with monitor attached) but in snow leopard you booted from the HD5450, right? But the HD3000 is showing in the display list in your screenshot.

How is the performance in Sierra and high Sierra? For me when I boot with a monitor on both the HD3000 and GT 710, the GT 710 is having some glitches after awhile

No ! You know this, when you connect the Display port you are boot always in the HD 3000 but the other screen is activate when the desktop arrive

In snow Leopard the screen with  HD 3000  closed when the other screen HD 5450  open ( for now I don't know Why )

I don't have a glitch with the GT 710 and the Radeon HD 5450

I never haves a glitch

1. Compress your config.plist as .zip. In the comment field, go to "More Reply Options" and upload that .zip

2. Copy this line into a terminal screen and press enter:

kextstat | grep 'AMD\|IOAcceleratorFamily2'

If it returns nothing, it means the kexts are not loaded, hence no acceleration.

In that case, copy this line into a terminal and press enter:

sudo kextutil -v /System/Library/Extensions/AMDRadeonX3000.kext

Could you share the SSDT patch please?  :D

Here is my config.plist.

I also input the kextstat into Terminal and it did return a bunch of numbers.

So I guess it does load up, just not correctly?

Nope, the kexts aren't loaded. How did you copy over the kexts?

Run

sudo kextutil -v /System/Library/Extensions/IOAcceleratorFamily2.kext
sudo kextutil -v /System/Library/Extensions/AMDRadeonX3000.kext

If above commands is telling you that the kexts aren't loadable, you did not install them correctly.

Either copy them manually to /S/L/E through terminal, fix permissions, update kernel cache and reboot or use a utility to do this for you, i.e. Kext Utility:

Sierra_Rollback.zip

Kext Utility.zip

Open Kext Utilty.app

Enter your password

When it's finished, drag the kexts in its window

Enter your password again

when it's finished, reboot

Ah yes, I just put them into S/L/E. I didn't even use kext util.

Sounds like a framebuffer issue to me

Hm, must be something with my setup then. I will have to look into it

Installed it without any issues on my 755. Use the latest Clover, update your SMBIOS data (BIOS version, BIOS release date, FF and FFM -- Clover Configurator contains the updated info already) and off you go. If you want to install it on APFS you'll need to extract apfs.efi and put it in Clovers Drivers64 folder.

Cheers ricoc90,

Can you advise where do I extract apfs.efi from?

Yeah, so I thought. macOS isn't able to load the kext then due to permission / verification issues  :)

Cheers ricoc90,

Can you advise where do I extract apfs.efi from?

From the install.app: mount BaseSystem.DMG -> usr/standalone/i386/apfs.efi

From an already installed setup: Press CMD + Shift + . to show hidden files (or Win + Shift + . on a Windows keyboard) and -> usr/standalone/i386/apfs.efi

Or download:

apfs.efi.HS-GM.zip

I can't believe I forgot to repair permissions after swapping kext files.

It's working as it should now.

Thank you for helping me out. I'm very happy  :thumbsup_anim:

Yeah I think it's an issue with the framebuffer. I'll install SL in a moment and look at it

That is because you are using a supported SMBIOS. Everything below imac13,1 results in a blackscreen due to Apple's graphics device policy.

Since he's on an older setup (core2duo) I think imac10,1 SMBIOS is the best, but it needs that patch to disable the board-id check.

Alternatively I think instead of the patch he could go with Lilu+NvidiaGraphicsFixup too, but I haven't tested it myself since the device policy patch works fine for me  :D

Edit: I disabled the patch and tried NvidiaGraphicsFixup.kext; Works too.

So @sakis6977:

Either use the config.plist with AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy pach, or download this kext (requires Lilu.kext) and place it in either /Clover/kexts/10.12 or /Clover/kexts/Other.

When i boot from USB now i see this

Try this one.

config.plist.zip

Alternatively download this kext and put it in Clover/Kexts/10.12 or Clover/Kexts/Other

It requires Lilu, which you can download from here if you don't have it yet.

I get the same error with lilu and with nvidia kext on 10.12 folder.

And what if you use the config.plist? Don't use them together. Either use config.plist, or the kexts. Not both.

Yes. First i try with your plist. The same error.

after i input the kext but again the same error

From your Clover folder I can see that Lilu.kext is missing. nvidiagraphicsfixup.kext needs it.

I doubt that that is your problem though... something is seriously wrong with your setup.
