It might, but I asked the people involved, because I'm not sure it will be as you allude, I read at least the first post  ;)

@AnV, @Slice, this version of VoodooHDA is include/derived from the one developed by Zenith432?

I would like to add it to Pandora, but I want to be sure to give all the credits....

Version 2.8.x is created with a help of Zenith432.

Update to 2.8.4 by me. 2.8.5 by Andy. 2.8.6 by me again.

I can also remember that version 0.2.2 was created by Fassl.

Updated up to 2.5 with AutumnRain and me.

And some users provided some fixes during this work. They are mentioned in sources and on projectosx.

Tried this to remove unnecessary HDMI and SPDIF entries, but all my audio disappeared...

 

Where should i put this in info.plist? I'm using the latest version 2.8.7

Into NodesToPatch

If you place it in a wrong place then

a) nothing happen

B) the kext will not loaded because of corrupted info.plist

 

But what is the reason to remove extra entries? They decorate System Profiler, no more.

can you help me to get headphone working on codec ALC668? I attach the codec dump from linux, the current problem is when plugging the headphone there is a pitch noise that cannot be removed playing with mixer.

 

This behavior was also on Linux and fixed muting the mic on the headphone jack (it's a combo jack that support headphone a mic, but Voodoo seems to not recognize the mic on the headphone port)

 

Hope we can get a solution.. :)

Disable node 11 as it may causes noise. It is very usual trick for Realtek codecs.

I see no differencies between voodoo dump and linux dump.

How come i can only get 32000 or 48000  hz output out of SPDIF(Atapi) using VoodooHDA ? I tried VoodooHDA 2.8.4 and 2.8.6 using  Yosemite  and the SPDIF optical output works great  at 32000 and 48000hz but nothing at the other sample rates. I want to use 44100hz as the sample rate for my music . VoodooHDA is great and thanks for your help.

this doesn't fix the issue.. remove also sound from internal speaker and headphone still have noise :(

I also have static but only untill i reduce input gain from vodoop pref pane to 0, after that, everything works perfect.

 

My only problem is that setting won't save after reboot, any ideea why? I installed 2.8.6 + 2.8.7 kext after that.

First off all thanks again for this topic !
 
I installed some weeks ago VoodooHDA 2.8.7 which is a big change compared to the old VoodooHDA that I used before! 
Thank you again for the good work! 
 
My first purpose of installing 2.8.7 version was to get the internal mic. I managed to activated by adding this nid :

The internal mic is now recognized, but I'm facing two problems not included in those listed in the first post:
 
The first is that, when using skype for example with the internal mic, there is a constant background noise heard by the person with whom I speak.
When using other communication software (Telephone by Alexey Kuznetsov), the person with whom I speak can't even understand me due to the very bad quality of the sound received when I use internal mic.
 
The second one, related the first one may be, is that I don't have all the setting in the prefpane for the internal mic, like the input Gain and PCM for example (please see the image).

So as I said before, may be the two problems are connected. So may be the fact that being able to activate all the required settings will allows me to get a correct sound from my internal mic.
 
Could you please guide me on how to do that ? (may be by activating other nodes ?)

First off all thanks again for this topic !
 
I installed some weeks ago VoodooHDA 2.8.7 which is a big change compared to the old VoodooHDA that I used before! 
Thank you again for the good work! 
 
My first purpose of installing 2.8.7 version was to get the internal mic. I managed to activated by adding this nid :
