Just to be clear, we'll be pulling information from most of those "live" sources in order to get the clearest possible picture for those of you keeping score at home. It'll be as close to live as you can get without being there. We did it this way last year and it seemed to work out well.

 

Maybe next year we'll actually send a mole to WWDC.

Stupid question, but when is WWDC?

If done on the IRC its faster and you don't have to refresh every couple of seconds.

You can still be on IRC and comment as it happens - but not everyone has access to or likes using IRC.

 

Ditto on the bingo shoutout - although i think if it was heard on the video the apple engineers will edit it out before publishing it.

Yeah, I'm sitting in the ArsTechnica IRC channel. They've got a guy messaging back live from in the conference. I think their servers are maxed out with users though.

damn. i was idling on the ars server but i somehow got disconnected. i cant get back in! dammit!

Edit: The MacRumors site says the "new" Macbook Pro carries this feature. I wonder if it is referring to the current model or an updated lineup to be revealed at WWDC.

Thats not really news - 5.8ghz is 802.11a which the intel pro wireless cards all support - i think the noteworthy fact was that apple are using this 55mbps wireless system which older macs can't connect to.
