iATKOS v1.0i Released

REVENGE

According to the osx86.turk team's official IRC channel on irc.atlantis-irc.net and uphuck.com, their release of Mac OS X 10.5.1 (Build 9B18), codename iATKOS, has been seeded to a "mini" torrent site as of 12-17-2007. iATKOS is considered by osx86/hackintosh community to be the holy grail of "white box PC" Leopard releases. Under development since the time of Leopard's finalization, the iATKOS project has undergone several tentative release announcements, followed by bug fixes, feature additions, and consequent delays and postponement. This finalized v1.0i release will incorporate the monumental PC-EFI boot loader system, a fully patched 10.5.1 installation, and additional community made content. These components may provide for the first time, a consummate white box Leopard experience, with full support for certain combinations of hardware, and the ability to use the vanilla kernel and official Apple updates on Intel Core 2 systems. PPC code has also been removed, so the entire file is smaller in size. The uphuck team itself has recently gained both respect and notoriety from their well developed and supported releases of Tiger, so there is a lot to be expected from their Leopard release.

LIVE: Seeding is now complete. The md5 of the iso file is:166c9e104115ac7e6d6ee0a634b91471

Hi i installed iATKOS v1.0i onto my Shuttle XPC, with SSE3 P4 2.81GHz onto my 80GB IDE HDD i have another 320GB Seagate IDE HDD in it as well, the install through iATKOS DVD installs fine, but i cant get the stupid machine to boot... i have tried leaving cd in and then pressing F8 and typing in rd=disk0s1, making sure the 80GB (which is the drive with the installation of iATKOS on) is disk0s1. but it either just freezes on the white mach screen with the spinning circle frozen, or i get a message to restart the machine. and if i take the DVD out and try to boot it just stops on blinking cursor... any ideas on how to fix guys??

The system spec as follows:

Shuttle XPC SFF case & Motherboard with intel chipset

P4 2.81GHz SSE3 processor

1GB Integral DDR RAM 667MHz

1 x 80GB Seagate Barracuda IDE

1 x 320GB Seagate Barracuda IDE

1 x 1TB Iomega USB HDD

I've installed iATKOS onto 80GB Seagate.

Thanks

:unsure:

First installed 10.4.8 JaS with MBR partition i.e; Leopard

with iATKOS DVD (Disk Utility)again Erased the MBR partition Leopard ( Don't Partition Drive Again)

Run Darwin Script Make sure to enter HDD as 1 Partition 1 for disk0s1

Installed with Main System ,Stock Kernel , Drivers -Natit and NTFS-3G

Bootable Leopard .

Reinstalled the 10.5.1 package (from apple downloads) to make sure EFI installed successfully

System booted after update :P

Sleep ,Time Machine working . NTFS drive working fine Both Read and Write

Four Cores Working fine ,see the picture . From apple Xcodetools Processor prePane See this as Intel Xeon 51XX with Four cores

Didn't installed AppleSMBIOS for netkas. About This mac shows correct Speed , System Profile identified the Correct Processor, Speed and machine Model P35-DS4

Internal Drive icon shows correctly. and Drive shows as internal

P.S Installed Kalyway but internal SATA still shows Yellow as external Drive

Man it's good to see someone with the same motherboard. Now I can try it out without worrying. so the screenshot you have of the setup, that's for the p35-ds4? if i have the 8800gt, should i check that in the setup?

Couldn't install IAKTOS on a system with mobo Asus P5K (jMicron and SATA) and C2D. I got kernel panic, always. Had to try Kalyway and it went nicely. Leo works very good indeed. (NEW RADEON HD 2600 working fin, thanks to Netka's, and 6 channel HDA sound working fine, thanks to Taruga and his patcher)

onboard LAN- PCIe Gigabit - Not working

It also didn't work on a system with mobo Asus P4P800-X and Pentium 4 3ghz, with sse3 (KERNEL PANIC). But it worked with Kalyway.

(GEFORCE 5400 - OK; sound ac'97 - OK; LAN RTL -OK)

Several glitches on laptop Asus F3JC...

So... is it just me or iAKTOS is not very compatible?

This is not working on my 100% compatible hackingtosh

system specs are

intel p4 3.00ghz SSE2 SSE3 intel speedstep compatible.no Oc

1 GB of 667mhz Kingston mem. no Oc

Azilia audio codec 7.1 HD by realtek.

RTL8000 series NIC

120 GB IDE HD no partitions

Motherboard MSI 945 GM3 intel chipset

My results are the blinking consour tried flagging the drive and it still dint work. it boots only when I leave the DVD on the drive only to be fallowed by a kernel panic. I know that i am choosing the correct drivers aka kext s.

My configuration was compatible with most 10.4.# releases and THos 10.5.RC1

Is there something I need to do? do I need a Core2 duo. WTf is going on.

is it me or is this release not that compatible.

@uphuck forums:

FORUM IS CLOSED Dont like iATKOS, use ToH, Kallway or wetf you want. ON IRC, I WILL NOT RESPOND TO NOOBS BY ALL

Like, wow :o

Anyone care to eleborate? Is there something wrong with iATKOS? I'm <----> this close to installing it on my laptop, but if ToH really is better, ......?

[edit]

Ok, all I could find is the fact that the KALWAY build is completer than iATKOS, or stuffed if you like. Still not really sure which one I'm going to install, I'm gonna sleep over it tonight. Hopefully tomorrow will be a successful day :D

I presume somebodies pissed off uphuck quite badly. I like iATKOS, it took me awhile to get the right config for it but i got there in the end. Trying Kalyway now. But not having much success. Big fan of any OS x86 developments though. both brilliant releases no doubt. To the guy that asked if u need a core 2 processor, no you dont, u only require that if you want EFI Emulation and stock kernel.

MOTHERBOARD MSI 945 GM3 INTEL CHIPSET

MY RESULTS ARE BLINKIN CONSOUR LEAVE THE DVD ON THE DRIVE IT STARTS BUT THE KERNEL SEEMS TO BE GOING IN TO A PANIC

AND REBBOTS.. AND YES IM CHOSSING THE CRORECT DRIVERS..

IT WAS COMPATIBLE WITH 10.4.10 AND A 10.5 RELEASE CANDIDATE BY SOME DUDE THAT I FORGOT..

Haha, in that case geforced would slip right through... First and last two sentences have lower case words in it ;) But I sure do know what you mean.

[ontopic]

I'm backupping my C: drive as we speak. I'm running winXP at the moment.

25GB should be enough for testing purposes right? I've got one hard drive with two partitions on it. First one is for OS, second for other stuff -- so I'm planning on splitting this on in half.

Does iATKOS support MBR and/or GUID?

hey everyone! i was wondering if this would work on my computer. here are the specs:

intel pentium D

eMachines

1 GB RAM

ati radeon x200 (or something like that)

200 GB hdd

i checked with cpu-z and i do have SSE3

i want to dual boot with xp and OSX

i tried this with uphuck and iatkos, but whenever it would boot, it would load for like 30 seconds and restart my computer. i do not know what the problem is. From reading around a lot of places, this should work on my computer. so will this work for me? thanks :blink:

repair disk permissions on the first drive to get rid of the linethere are a couple of buggy things here but this is the best installnow the line is back snd it greey screened :(from the standpoint of a fellow web developer / designer / osx86er i want to constructively say that this app had the best install all day of all the leopard releases. it actually booted fast too. however it has a lot of bugs that honestly are simple fixes and for that they sholdnt be excusable and the interface is not all there yet. a lot of things crash randomly. for me, the reason that i run osx86 in the first place is because i require tons of stability in terms of my computer. i refuse to comprimise my hardware specs to apple and my ability to design windows vista and thats one of the few things i can say seriously.that is not to diminish from any of the wonderful contributions made on prior releases of which i have at least ten of at both arm's length :(

Maybe it's just me but.... when I boot up the DVD, it starts the Darwin loader, waits a few seconds, then reboots my PC :)

I have the same problem.

I'm a new Noob at this...

ASUS P4P800 SE Motherboard on Intel 865PE

MB specs;

* CPU Socket 478; P4 - 3Ghz (NOT Dual core)

* 4 x DDR SDRAM DIMM (coloured differently and grouped in pairs);

* 1 x AGP (with a clip);

* 5 x PCI (32 bits, 33 MHz);

* 1 x FDD;

* 2 x IDE (Parallel ATA), both in the chipset;

* 2 x SATA (Serial ATA), both in the chipset;

* 2 x USB (2.0) headers;

* 1 x CI sensor;

2Gb ram

Ati- Radion X850 - video

Maybe I didn't get the correct iso..

When I type -v and it scrolls the devices that it's installing but after about 5-6min. booting off the DVD, it reboots.

It has XP on it right now..

Should I delete partitions on the drive completely..?

I "assumed" the DVD boots up into something with a GUI that would let me blow away partitions/format.. etc..

Any ideas?

this thing does not work on P4 s i dont care if your intel P4 has sse3 4 5 6 7 or 8 :wacko: it just wont boot.. i have not yet seen any reply saying that it worked on their intel p4 configurations. if you pay attention all the happy people are the 1nes with core2 duo s.. oh and dont even try the calyway thing cuz you are going to end up with the same results. the only leopard release that has worked with me is the TOH RC2 it works perfect..im typing this reply on it..

i know that the dvd image was burned correctly because i installed on a ibm thinkpad that yea had a core 2 dou ;) and it worked perfect the only thing that dint work was a simple to fix wireless adapter by intel

my system configuration is :D

intel p4 yeup sse2/3 ready no oc :(

all intel based motherboard msi 945 gm 3 -_-

ide HD 120 gb

azilia audio

gma 950

rtl r10000 series NIC

DONT WASTE YOU TIME NO CORE 2 NO PLAY :)

mmm...iAtkos working here on two Pentium 4's already. However on the one it also wouldn't boot, so I just installed uphuck 1.4 first and installed iAtkos with Pacifist. It works really well!
