Hi Everybody!I am new to OSX86, so be patient with me. :) I have one Desktop with an ASROCK Conroe 1333 motherboard with BIOS version 1.30.I installed Kalyway 10.5.2 and everything works great. The cpu now installed is a Core 2 Duo E4500 and works fine. The problem is that I have another CPU, Core 2 Duo E8200, which also works but it's not correctly detected by the motherboard, unless I update the BIOS to version 1.80.When I update the BIOS to 1.80, the CPU is correctly detected by the motherboard, but OSX hangs at the apple Logo.Is there a way to fix this?I read in a few forums that Kabyl is making a few miracles. Would he be capable of doing another one? Thanks in advance for your help...Nuno Ferreiranmgferreira@iol.ptnumagf@gmail.com

Dear Nuno,

I also have the same motherboard (Asrock Conroe 1333DVI/H R2.0) ,and I also have this issue. (In fact, 1.50 can work, but 1.60 ~ 2.10 can not boot).

Dear Kabyl,

Bios Link is inhttp://www.asrock.com/mb/download.asp?Mode...33-DVI/H&s=

(All versions of BIOS)or

http://www.asrock.com/mb/from.asp?Model=CO...T=B&ID=1563

(Version 2.10, Using DOS to program)

http://www.asrock.com/mb/from.asp?Model=CO...T=B&ID=1564

(Version 2.10, Using Windows to Program)

By the way, I am not quite understand it. But, is it possible to patch it in EFI emulation? Otherwise there are so many BIOS versions with this issue. And patching them takes a lot of time. Just my suggestion.

Thanks you very much for your help.

No, it's not possible, because the DSDT is BIOS&board specific.

Hi.

I installed the modified BIOS for my MSI P35 Neo in hope for quad core support, but my "Mac" still doesn't recognize it. =(

About my "Mac":

Processor: 2.4GHz Unknown

Processorspeed: 2.40 GHz

Number of Processors: 0

Number of Cores: 1

Any ideas to get all four cores working?

Hi, guys.

Who has flashed the modded bios on MSI P35 - Neo (MS-7360)? Pliz, share your experience.

I'm afraid to do that a little bit :). I've just read it's not safely.

Whether I can flash my bios with Afud408 utility?

try a different kernel (respectively different kernel/ ACPI-kexts combination). Also sometimes simply a different version of AppleSMBIOS.kext will do the job ..

Hi Kabyl, could you help me with editing bios, battling here, because the site is accessible only BIOS manufacturers through online updates. Here is my configuration:

C2D E6320

GMA950 (Integrated)

MSI 945GCM5 V2

or with XFX GF7300GT to.

Thank you for your work!

Hello Kabyl, first of all let me thank you in advance for your work. This can lead me to almost 100% Leopard functionality on my laptop, which means having both cores working and passing through the famous "using ... buffer headers and ... cluster IO buffer headers" error.

I was wondering if you could patch the latest bios update for my machine Download Here

My Specs are:

Chipset - GM965 ICH8-ME

Processor - Intel Mobile Dual-Core T2310)

Graphics - Intel GMA X3100

I'd also like to know about the chances of failure after flashing my machine with your patched bios. Is it too risky?

I can't really wait to hear from you. Thanks a lot!

Hi Kabyl,

Thanks for you great work, it's really appriciated! I have a different question though and I might be completly off track.

I have Gigabyte P35-DS3R board, for some reason I think the HPET is not properly exposed through the DSDT. What you are doing with updating the processor aliases would be it possible to update the DSDT table to properly expose the HPET?

This would take care of a lot of issue's people are having (AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement etc).

Sorry if this a bit off topic, I don't mean to hi-jack this thread.

Thanks!

Yes, it can be done in the DSDT, but it will not make the AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext work, some boards already have the HPET populated in the DeviceTree, and still panic when the kext is not removed.

Hi Kabyl,

you do great work, congratulations ! I realize you have already done F3Jc BIOS' in the past but my BIOS is already modified. It contains a modified SLIC table which I don't want to lose. Would you be willing to modify a premodified BIOS, too ?

It can be downloaded here:

Many thanks for your consideration !

Thanks, but I've tried nearly every combination.

Maybe somebody has a hint what combination I should try next?

Kabyl,

thanks so much for your efforts!!!

I successfully got 10.5.2.1 installed on my tablet-pc, HP TC4400. This baby is (hardware) technically very similar to the HP nc4400. Disabling one core in the BIOS did the trick, but lamed the performance somewhat. You can understand my enthusiasm when i came across your work on BIOS moddding to get around this problem.

It's HP so maybe their BIOS setup maybe a bit more proprietary than some the rest, but i keep my fingers crossed you succeed in cracking this baby too!

Don't rush into this one, i can wait until you find the time to look into it...

Hardware specs link: http://www.mcnix.de/files/lspci_HP.txt

BIOS link: ftp://ftp.itc.nl/pub/venus/Rom.zip

Btw, i've tried some tools from BIOSmods.com without success so far (http://www.biosmods.com/download.php). Maybe the BIOS file is encrypted....
