Hagar
I'll give that a shot some day, when i actually need to run a torrent client on my computer again [as torrentflux-b4rt runs smoothly on the server ]. Tried clutch? it's more efficient than TF-b4rt as it runs its torrents in a single process rather than running a separate process for each torrent. Useful if your server isn't overly powerful, or if you are running many torrents. foodfightr
Only if you're running your computer 24/7. It can be a real PITA having to wait 2 minutes when you want to shutdown your PC... Ditto! I'm experiencing the same problem. This client slows down my shut down... I really like its simplicity- but if I can't get it to close quickly I'll have to consider alternatives. velayo
Mine crashed the first time around, had to force quit it. Ever since I've been downloading lots of stuff with no problems. I haven't noticed any wait for shutting down, but I never shut down my macbook. Running on 10.5.1 on Macbook 1.83 C2D. I think they have gotten it to the point where it replaces utorrent. chick
Transmission is a nice bittorrent client. I used to use Azureus but it's really "heavy" (java ...) and the last versions are even worse. Now i don't use bittorrent at all on my Hackintosh, i just installed rTorrent on my FreeBSD server/gateway. This is by far the best solution i've found : the main "download" folder is shared via Samba. When i put a .torrent file in the "torrents" subfolder, rTorrent automatically detects it and starts a new download. I manage my downloads using ssh and screen, works perfect and 24/7 ! The next step is to send growl notifications to all my machines when a transfer is complete. The script is done, i now have to tell rTorrent to invoke it Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/80040-transmission-10-released/page/2/#findComment-568289 Share on other sites

rollcage
"-- Leopard: Time Machine will ignore incomplete downloads" and this is a good thing HOW? I was wondering the same thing. Maybe an option in preferences would be ok, but making it mandatory just sucks. stellarola
I switched from Azureus to Transmission. XanthraX
1.01 froze in my system too. I re-download v1.0 now. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/80040-transmission-10-released/page/2/#findComment-579028 Share on other sites
XanthraX
After I re-downloaded v1.0 it frozen again (not before I updated with 1.01). I saw in their forums some complains about 1.01 and they proposed to use the last nightlies. Searched with Google "transmission nightlies" downloaded the last, "Transmission-1.01+Z-svn-r4697" and it works now like a charm. Hope to be useful for those with some problem. Sabr
Is there a way to schedule downloads? Like, say I want it to start downloading at 4AM and stop at 9AM? Erm - no, I don't think so. You can schedule it to download at certain speeds and certain times. So you could tell it to download at 0 kbps when you don't want it to download.
