Hi sonarMTL,

first I have to report two systems working on with the Kalyway 10.5.1 Install DVD.

I have added the parts in the signature but I will describe in detail for each of them.

1 Notebook Dell 6400/E1505 - GeekBench score ~1900 , XBench score ~110

- Leopard Kalyway 10.5.1 with "vanilla" kernel working fine

- CPU T7200 Intel Core 2 Duo at 2 GHz (installation and working fine with only one core BIOS enabled)

- 2x1 Gb DDR2 PC5300 (667 MHz) - working fine

- GMA 945Mobile (GMA950 graphic card) - QE and CI working fine under different resolutions (no patching needed, active directly in the system installation)

- HDD Toshiba 120 GHz (with the map as follows first/primary partition WinVista 32 NTFS 512 bit/sector, second/primary partition Leopard 10.5.1 EFI-MBR HFS+ Extended Journaled, other three extended/logical partitions NTFS 512 bit/sector)

- DVD-RW Philips - working fine

- Firewire 400 working fine under OSX (perfect connection to an iMac 17")

- Sound Sigmatel 9200 patched with Taruga's 1.20 patch and linux codec dump http://psykopat.free.fr/apple/AppleHDA/sig...igmatel9200.txt - working fine as normal output (louder up and quiet down buttons working only), BUT NO MIC

- 3 in 1 card reader working fine

- all USB active with very good speed

- NO LID REACTIVATION AFTER CLOSING

- Intel Wireless 3945a/b/g NOT WORKING (the PCI-e minicard can be replaced with Dell ones 1390 or even 1500 Draft N - for only max. 50$)

2 PC System - build up from components GeekBench score ~3100, XBench score ~160

- Leopard Kalyway 10.5.1 working with patched kernel ("vanilla" gives short restart before loading)

- ASUS P5LD2 motherboard (BIOS updated to 1903)

- CPU E6300 Intel Core 2 Duo 1.86 GHz (overclocked to 2.33 GHz) - working fine with both cores active

- 4x1 GB DDR2 PC5300 (667 MHz) - no overclocking - working with 3.2 GB for System and BIOS at POST reports the rest of 800MB "Appropriated" - motherboard limited capability

- Sapphire ATI X1300Pro 256 MB, working with DiaboliK patch (error on installation but after restarting the system everything works fine with QE and CI and different resolutions and frequencies), VGA working fine BUT NO DVI

- monitor ASUS MB19TU at 1280x1024x32@75 on VGA

- Western Digital 250 GB Sata2, EFI-GUID partitioned from Kalyway DVD, reserved only for OSX, system installed on second/primary partition (except first/primary EFI partition, the rest of them have a 128 MB unallocated space appeared after partitioning in OSX with diskutil DO NOT MESS WITH THEM

- Seagate Quantum 160 GB Sata2, MBR partitioned reserved only for WinVista32, system installed on first/primary NTFS partition, second/primary NTFS partition and the rest of three NTFS extended/logigal partitions (all of them writable fromLeo with MacFuse and NTFS-3G driver)

- Western Digital 40 GB IDE 100, EFI-GUID partitioned from Kalyway DVD, reserved for Leo's TimeMachine

- DVD-RW ASUS 1608S, working just fine

- LAN on-board working fine without patching

- sound ALC882 on-board working with Taruga's 1.20 patch and the linux codec dump http://psykopat.free.fr/apple/AppleHDA/realtek/882.txt - working fine even the front connectors for out and mic (not tested the SPDIF output)

- all USB active with very good speed

I will give it a try to format the WD250 as EFI-MBR for Leo to see if "vanilla" kernel will work.

I poosted the ASUS A8N5X that was added to the OSx86 Project list... but the edits are misaligned! i.e. a column is missing. The info looks correct, but two columns were combined... just wanted to point that out!

I'm still working on the LAN issue and will post when a solid resolution is found.

Desktop

Prebuilt: No

Manufacturer: Me.

Model: iHack

Motherboard: GA-965P-DS3

Manufacturer: Gigabyte

Version: Rev 1.0

Bios Version: F12

Chipset: Intel 965P

Audio: ALC883 Working with the 10.4.8 ALC88x patch

LAN: Marvel Yukon, works out of the box.

Required patches:

In order to get JMicron, IDE and ICH8 working, I've added the requisite device id's to System/Library/Extensions/IOATAFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext/Contents/Info.plist as detailed here:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...n%20Beach

And installed JMicronATA.kext located here:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...;p=457394

I'm also using a modified AppleSMBIOS.kext bundled with the EFI bootloader, the IONetworking fix for TimeMachine and the fixed ACPIPlatform for reboot/shutdown.

Reboot fix is located here:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...;p=531393

Note that using both the ICH8 and the JMicron controller will cause bootup to be delayed by 30-45 seconds due to a contention issue. I haven't been able to resolve it unless I disable IDE support. No other errors are caused by using IDE and the system is stable and disk speeds are good while in Leopard. This method requires both the ICH8 and the JMicron controllers to be set to IDE mode in the BIOS

CPU

Model Number: Core 2 Duo P6400

Recognised as: 2.13 GHz

Memory/DDR: 2 GB OCZ PC6400 800 MHz

Video

Manufacturer: BFGTech

Model: 8800 GT OC

Bus Type: PCIe x16

Memory size: 512 MB

Dual screen working? Yes

QE/CI working? Yes

Resolution changeable? Yes

Required patches or bios flashing? Using 10.5.2 kexts and OGL framework + NVInject

SATA/IDE working: Yes. See above for required patches

Wifi & patches? Not applicable.

other peripherals/pci addon cards? None

misc hardware: Logitech Wave keyboard and MX1000 mouse working natively with the Logitech software.

The end result is that everything works quite smoothly with the vanilla kernel, allowing sleep, reboots, full Time Machine functionality and a blazing fast system.

Current OSX : 10.5.1

Install method : Kalyway DVD, MBR/EFI assumed working/Vanilla

Motherboard

Manufacturer : Asrock

Model : ConRoe 1333-667

Version : R1

BIOS Vers : 1.20

Chipset : Intel 945G

Audio : ALC 888, not working as yet. *edit* Output working via AzaliaAudio.pkg patch

LAN : On-board Realtek RTL 8139, working, no patches needed.

CPU

Model : Intel E2160 (BSEL Modded and Oc'ed to 2.7Ghz)

Recognised as : 3Ghz ?

Memory

1Gb total. (2x512Mb DDR2/667 generic)

Video

Manufacturer : Jetway

Model : Nvidia 8600GT

Bus : PCI-E

Memory : 256Mb

Dual Screen? Not tried

QE/CI? : Yes

Resolution changable? : Yes, but "blue screens" after change. Changed resolution is applied/saved after reboot. Currently at my monitors native resolution of 1280x1024x75Hz

Required patches : JohnnieCarcinogens *excellent* OpenGL/10.5.2kext/NVinject installer package.

SATA/IDE?

Not tested SATA, all happy on IDE. Installed upon 60Gb Maxtor IDE set as Master, installed via Lite-ON LH201A IDE optical drive set as Slave.

WiFi?

Not yet. Attempting to persuade a Zydas ZD1211B to work, which previously worked on Tiger 10.4.3

*edit* Now working, sort of. Posting this via 10.5.1 ZyDas updated driver vers ZD112_MACUSB4_7_9. ZD Config utility shows up, USB wifi stick is detected but no networks detected. Fudge around.. Once en1 network device is setup in Prefs/Networks, change Configure from DHCP to Manual. Apply, go back to ZD Config util, networks now found, util works as usual. Re-enable DHCP (if required) and off you go. If you change anything it networks that stops the ZD config util from scanning for networks, disconnect and reconnect the USB adaptor. *edit2* Occasionally freezes up when scanning for networks if booted up from cold with USB adapter in situ. Remove/reconnect and all is happy.

*edit 3* Now using BT Voyager 1040 PCI wireless adapter (based on the Broadcom BCM4306 chipset). Although the card is not listed under PCI cards under System Profiler, the card is recognised and appears to work happily with no patches, being recognised under Network/Airport Card as "Third Party Wireless Card"

Other Hardware

SiL 0680 PCI-IDE controller card, not a hope in hell with OSX (I presume...)

Fujifilm S6500FD camera, *edit* Working happily, with Fujifilm FinePix viewer Ver 3.4

Epson R300 printer, also not tested yet.

Currently dual-booting alongside XP, using the Chain0 method, both on separate IDE HDDS on the onboard IDE primary interface. XP Master, OSX Slave. All seems well so far...

Current OS X Version: 10.5.1 (Vanilla kernel, EFI v8)

Install method: Created a image from an original Leopard 10.5.0 DVD, applied Brazilmac patch on it and burnt the resulting image to a DVD (single layer, Brazilmac's patch ripped out a lot of things from the original DVD image). With 10.5.0 working, I installed EFI v8 patch and then I've updated the system to 10.5.1 through Apple Software Update.

FIY: before using EFI, the system was recognised as ACPI PC in system profiler. With EFI and BrazilMac's 10.5.0 kernel, it's recognised as X38T-DQ6. With EFI and Apple Vanilla 10.5.1 kernel, it's recognised as a Mac Pro.

Motherboard

Manufacturer: Gigabyte

Model: GA-X38T-DQ6

Version: Rev 1.0

Bios Version: F5

Chipset: Intel X38

Audio: Onboard ALC889A, didn't work by default, needs AppleAzalia kext

LAN: Realtek 8111/8169 working without patches

CPU

Model Number: Core 2 Duo E6750 (2.66 GHz)

Recognised as: 2.67 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

Video

Manufacturer: MSI

Model: GeForce 8800GTX (NX8800GTX-T2D768E-OC)

Bus Type: PCIe x16

Memory size: 768MB (dedicated)

Dual screen working? Not tested.

QE/CI working? Yes full QE/CI

Resolution changeable? Yes

Required patches or bios flashing? without paches (note that I installed a DVD created from a original one by BrazilMac's patch, so I don't know if there is any kind of patch pre-installed)

SATA/IDE working: Yes, AHCI mode

USB and 1394 are working fine, all ports.
