Anyone figured out the Photoshop CS3 crashing on startup problem? Or the Toast Titanium 8 crash on startup problem? It's doing it for me on every revision of uphuck's OS X and even on JaS 10.4.8 which I reinstalled to see if uphucks's copies were the problem. They obviously are not.

Side note: It's amazing the speed difference from JaS 10.4.8 to uphuck's 1.4i copies. I didn't realize the boot time / install time difference b/c I hadn't used the JaS DVD in so long. Uphucks versions are MUCH faster.

****CORRECTION****

I fixed the Photoshop CS3 crashing problem by the file attached to this post. AppleSMBIOS.kext --> View the readme.txt to for proper installation. But this did *NOT* fix my Toast Titanium 8 problem.

Hi there.

Unfortunatly I can't boot this 1.4 R2 on my Dothan Centrino. It installs fine, but after reboot it hangs after just before the ACPI thing.

I had the same problem with 1.3.

@lennyb AppleMPIC.kext is a powerpc binary that you can not load it on any intel, so it has nothing to do on our pc's.. thank you for informations, i put 10.4.8 apic + acpiplatform as a package to choose and tested on my systems, it would be good if you test and make it clear that any other thing is needed or not..

What's the release that has this package/fix?

*UPDATE*: It's working now. I had replaced AppleAPIC and AppleACPIPlatform and it worked right away :thumbsdown_anim: Please, can you add the patch to the next release?

Thanks for your work uphuck.

the replacement files are from which osx version? are they available seperately?

hi uphuckIs there any improvements for gigabyte onboard network card : marvell 88E1116 in uphuck 1.4A ???

I just searched for a long time, and didnt make it till now or any latest information about it ??? if you are working on this, pls give a update driver about this...

thanks for your great work on hackintosh ..

^__^

Really nice work.

But ihave severall Problems.

My Hardware:

Gigabyte p35-DS4

4 gig

E2160 Core2Duo

Saphire X1900GT 256MB

500GB Samsungs SATA2 Drive

2 Displays

On this Board i can only install if i put HD on the purple port and all AHCI off in Bios.

Then i can install, afterwards you have to switch to AHCI and change to thew yellow ports.

My next little Problem is that no ATI driver works well for my card, i can have 2 displays working without QE and CI (JJcool) or QE and CI with ATI X1X00.

When i install manually natid_edited and change the kext it works, 2 displays and Qe, CI.

But the system is then a little bit corrupted, but a upgrade to 10.4.10 Helps, it seems to bring a new Kernel which repair the system then.

Now i have to test how far it is really working.

First i have to reinstall cause last time the system wont open up the terminal anymore, seems to be caused by a new kext, and i couldnt repair disk permissions.

Which Options should i enable while installation?

It would be very nice if someone can say what is the optimum for a GS P35-DS4 and Uphuck 1.4i?

I just installed 1.4i R3 in a Dell GX270, everything is working except the onboard NIC (Intel Pro100VE) after playing around with different install methods I installed a Realtek 8139 PCI card and I now have a working NIC. I can't seem to get the DVD-RW drive to be found in system profiler. Here is what I get.

"No burning device was found. If you are using an external device please make sure that it is connected and powered properly."

I get this with a NEC dual layer drive that has worked in versions 10.4.6,7 and 8 with patch burn

and a Pioneer DVD-RW/DL that works in 10.4.7 and 8 with no patching (burns both CD and DVDs)

Is this a common problem with uphucks 1.4i r3?

Hi Uphuck,

I didn't see you for a couple of day's. Psssssst, are you busy with the Leopard 9a466/9a499 project instead of the Tiger 1.4ix and can we expect a full patched dvd real soon, or is it to unstable? For now i am stuck with your Tiger 1.3 version which is the best for me. Everything works fine, no problem at all, but i don't want to wait till October to try things out on the Leopard

Will the ir3 release work on:

T7500

Intel 965PM

3GB RAM

100GB 7200RPM

8600GT 256MB

I'm a bit confused about the 8600 series, are they working or not? And if not, can we expect support for these series and in what timeframe?

Regards

Your system looks pretty compatible, although as you say, there's not much support for the 8xxx series cards as of yet. In case you haven't seen it, there's a whole thread devoted to that topic. If someone knew when full support would be available, that would indicate that they already know how to support it and it would probably be out already. Until Apple authorizes the use of these cards or the manufacturer comes up with OSX drivers, Hackintosh will be struggling. That being said, it appears that some have gotten their cards up and running.

BAD AXE 2 mobo

in order to work with marvell SATA controller, the one that controlls 3 blue and the red e_SATA connector, we must install what besides ICH7 ???

Want to do a clean reinstall to work with all 8 sata ports,

tks

Hi,Thanks for the support and this great release!!! unfortunately I cant manage to boot. Install went alright, but I hang when booting. My Configuration:ASUS P5W DH Deluxe2GB OCZ RAMIntel e4300 @1.8 ghz (default)Seagate SATA DriveOk, here are differet settings on the motherboard. I believe my panics are due to some Power management thing. Booting with -v options (-f also panics)When I boot with the following BIOS power options:ACPI 2.0 Support DISABLEDACPI APIC support DISABLEDI get:using 10485 buffer headers ad 4096 cluster IO buffer headersAnd it just stays there, with a white square (cursor)underIf I go to the motherboard and enable both options above, I get a Panic:panic(cpu 1 caller 0x001A496B): Uresolved kernel trap (CPU 1, Type 14=page fault), registers:and a lot of HEX numbersWhat I did next was boot into Windows and Use MACDRIVE to delete a couple of extesions, as I have been trying to point if this is a Power Magemente thing. I delete the following kexts: When I deleted the AppleACPIPlatform.kext, and AppleCPUPowerManagement.kext, when booting I get the panic message:panic (cpu0 caller 0x003AB807): Unable to find driver for this platform: "ACPI"So, a panic shows up when ACPI kext is present, and also panics when removed, but with different messagesFrom this point on, I dunno what to do. I have an older 10.4.6 DVD which does install without a hitch on this motherboard. Can aybody help me on what I need to do???????Uphuck!!Come to the rescue!!!Thanks again Hi Everyone,Just wanted to report that I am now running 10.4.9 rev 4 !!!! I just had to check to get the 10.4.8 ACPI kexts when installing. Now it works fine!!!THANKSSK

this dvd install just fine, but when i reboot to enter the OS, just stays the screen black with a " _ " blinking....

what i did wrong? >.>....

tried gparted live cd and still that prob..

how can i add PPC support to the uphuck 1.3 if 1.4 doesnt work for me? =(

I keep getting the "Unable to find driver for this platform: 'ACPI'" error when I try to install it natively, even with the -v and the -x and the platform=X86PC switches.

Am I [still] screwed on trying to ever get OSX86 working on my comp?

I love the speed of this install. Afterwards applying the friendly 10.4.10 update, the proper one, the screen goes off.

Tried with and without the graphics driver option. So this really bites. When attaching a second monitor it reads: VGA out of range 680x215 and 92 MHz.

How can one do safe mode aka without graphics driver at boot so as to have a GUI for swapping out those bad kexts?

Carlos, I actually didn't check ICH7. Most stuff on the Bad Axe 2 runs natively. I checked the IONetworkingFamily.kext for FCS2 compatibility and Diabolik's Natit Dual. I did discover that the Marvell controller seem to work only with SATA to SATA cables and not SATA to eSATA cables.
