kalle_19
this is the first release of iwi2100.kext and iwi3945.kext i'd like to help developing this cards drivers but i have the 2200BG card the iwi2100, iwi2200 and iwi3945 have common code. i'd like to thank to all people who helped can someone review the supported cards that will work with this drivers? (see info.plist) Is this the latest driver (2100)? Does it work? If so, with 10.4.7 files as described down the thread? fullOut
Another point to add for patatester's reply: DO NOT UPDATE YOUR AIRPORT EXTREME FROM APPLE SOFTWARE UPDATE, IT WILL KILL YOUR WIRELESS DRIVER DO NOT USE 10.4.8 IO80211FAMILY.KEXT AND APPLE80211.FRAMEWORK use the IO80211Family.kext and Apple80211.framework from 10.4.7, otherwise you will come crying to us on how come it doesnt work, or how come it crashes on boot etc..... Yeah, i can confirm this. iw3945.kext loaded nice, aiport menu appeared on bar, but driver seems is not detecting the mac address right. When install new update , BOOM... kext doesnt load anymore. regards, Edited February 6, 2007 by fullOut Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36976-intel-wireless-driver/page/23/#findComment-295372 Share on other sites

jalavoui
hi people the iwi2100 and iwi3945 source are in the http://code.google.com/p/iwidarwin/ both drives are stucked to the firmware loading unless someone get the source code and fix this they will not work i need help on this because i don't have this cards after this step all it takes to make this drivers work is to reuse some of the iwi2200 code i need people willing to try just remember me when i first start writting the code nothing works now iwi2200 is working i'd like to see the 3 driver working please get xcode and try to fix it about the io80211family: the more stable version is 10.4.7 (check the way to do the update in previous posts instead of keep asking the same think - i've explain it over and over...) version 10.4.8 works - but don't try to use aiport menu features - they don't work. the driver was ported from linux - it isn't made to work with aiport menu features - we'l need to build an interface to do that. I am happy to start developing this version but I am not much of a driver developer, in fact I have never written an OSX driver, only linux. hi people the iwi2100 and iwi3945 source are in the http://code.google.com/p/iwidarwin/ both drives are stucked to the firmware loading unless someone get the source code and fix this they will not work What exactly do you mean here when you say both drives are stucked to the firmware loading? asap18
i think it might be interfering with your sata drivers or some controller. Why are you installing it via commandline? TatoNo
Hi guys, 2 questions regarding iwi2200 on 10.4.8. About IO80211Family.kext / Apple80211.framework We should still be using those from the 10.4.7 update, and not others right? Specifically javilou said to use the ones that come with 10.4.5 to 10.4.7 update (not combo). But this one is not aviable anywhere... I can only find 10.4.6 to 10.4.7 update. Is it enough? (Jalavoui xkazu?) Can anybody post the link to 10.4.5 to 10.4.7 update? Instalation of these is: get the .dmg, mount it, use pacifist to browse it and find them (one is in privateFrameworks and the other in Extensions folders right?), Select them and do a "install in default locations", overwrite if asked. Then I optionally did a "diskutil repairPermissions /System" is that ok? About en0 vs en1 or others. For us for which the wireless card is in en0 instead of en1. It should not work and we should rename, as far as I understood. Does anybody has a working setup with the wireless card in en0? If not, then the solutions is renaming the interface. It is said that if you go to /Library/Preferences/SystemPreferences/NetworkInterfaces and change the BSD name of the cards to match the correct name it would work, but it doesnt. Some other people seem to have the same problem. I already tryied disabling other interfaces, renaming, etc etc. Any other ideas? I was about to download xcode and try to change any references to en1 to en0 and recompile, is that ok? would it work? (Jalavoui xkazu?) Then I would post a v6_en0, is there a way to softload this? so that its not hardcoded in the extension? Thank guys for the help in advance. After I get both things correctly Ill writte a step by step isntructions to setup the correct framworks and renaming. Rathalos, save the rudeness if you may. I read every single post since this thread started. read my post more carefull and you'll see the problem. Javilou specifically said no combo updates, and there is absolutly no link in the forums, or googling, to the one he suggest, 10.4.5 to 10.5.7, no combo. Thats what i asked, and if you read carefully the threads, you wont find the answer to that. Concering the en1, I specifically said I tried that already, it doesnt work. Thats why im asking. Sander Spilleman
the driver will crash if using the 10.4.8 Apple80211.framework and kext looks like lot of people keep doing this instead of using the 10.4.5 - 10.4.7 update Can you please (also) post the other dependant kexts, to make sure everybody is texting against the same libraries?
