nurlewis
I tried the new iwi2200, but I could not connect to my network. So, I'm back to using the v6-debug version. Here are my files from the new iwi2200. My system.txt file was 248 Mb! So, I couldn't upload it. asstastic
thanks for testing sorry for the crashes iwi3945 i only see a log with the firmware loading. hmmm to test the driver you need the correct io80211 framework... i'll not talk of this again need to add the aiport in system preferences need to unplug other network cards doing this should let the driver go to the firmware loading - wich is what i'm trying to make work maybe the bluetooth controler is interfering with iwi3945 - disable it and test again no idea how to add airport to syspref perhaps i should uninstall parallels, the network drivers might be interfering bluetooth works fine witout patching, even got some stuff off my phone earlier. i'll try i have a broadcom ethernet but it hasn't ever worked and i removed the kext, don't think i can dissable it further hope the backtrace helps, good luck with further coding Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36976-intel-wireless-driver/page/28/#findComment-303464 Share on other sites

So that's already 3 of us not able to connect any longer when using the newest test version of the iwi2200 driver: Jalavoui, are you really sure the 10.4.8 option is included in this driver? It's working quite well using the previous (slower) version of the driver and to be honest: I never had a single lockup when using the previous driver on 10.4.8 beta 9... My wifi router is currently open, not using any WEP or WPA (just using Mac Address Filtering)... The driver is being loaded fine I guess as it is appearing in System Preferences - Network. But it is just not able to connect (no ip address received from DHCP there where the previous version is getting an IP address instantly) Keep up the good work Take care, Tek_No Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36976-intel-wireless-driver/page/28/#findComment-303539 Share on other sites

Will try this soon... Thx for the new version To AaronR: I guess we all knew the driver would crash after some time (as Jalavoui already said this would happen). Question is: is the performance of the driver better than the previous one??? Tek_No
try this one Ok, just tested this: sorry to say but this version doesn't make any difference for me: not able to connect to my open wifi network... Jalavoui, can you confirm that this is due to the fact that I'm still using all 10.4.8 kexts? I'm not using any older versions of kexts and the previous-previous iwi2200.kext is just working fine and stable with them (only kinda slow)... james2mart
So I reinstalled OS X on my lappy to test this out for you, even though I knew it didn't work. I hope this helps, jalavoui. When this driver is loaded, I get constant system lockups lasting .5 seconds every 10 or 15 seconds. dmesg shows "MAC is in deep sleep!" iwi3945 tests (i made a much more detailed ioreg for you "ioreg -lw 0" ) dmesg.txt ioreg.txt system.txt Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36976-intel-wireless-driver/page/28/#findComment-304319 Share on other sites

Now i get nothing. So what should i do ? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36976-intel-wireless-driver/page/28/#findComment-304375 Share on other sites

mcdull
I have an Intel Wireless PRO 2915 A/B/G, knowing that somebody here could make it work. I installed the latest version of iwi2200, but it doesn't work as is. My laptop is Fujitsu s6240 with 2915 A/B/G mini-PCI. I have an airport icon after installing the iwi2200, but it say the airport is not config yet. There is no "Airport" in the network menu. No Airport in the System Pref. While checking the system.log, it generates a lot of network scanning command, also it shows it can mac address too. In "about this mac", there is no airport, but a third party wireless card. Anyone can help? Thanks a lot Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36976-intel-wireless-driver/page/28/#findComment-304557 Share on other sites
Bill Harrison
Ok, just tested this: sorry to say but this version doesn't make any difference for me: not able to connect to my open wifi network... Take care, Tek_No Same story here, installed new version, and it turned on my wireless (atleast the light) with no modifications, so thats a step forward. However, I have no actual network connectivity. Meaning: I seem to get an IP, DHCP is setting up the router info / etc properly, but I cannot open any webpages or get a connection in any internet program. V6 is working fine although slow, and the occasional lockup when doing big downloads. So what should i do ? i've said this so many times i'll say again to use 10.4.7 io80211 family you'll need to get the files from apple updates (not combo) start at 10.4.5 and go to 10.4.7 iwi3945 i've rewritten firmware with code from iwlwifi-0.0.6 iwi3945_v5.dmg Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36976-intel-wireless-driver/page/28/#findComment-304680 Share on other sites
mcdull
I'd try to read thr the entire post but I really dunno who's right and wrong. is it a must to use 10.4.7 io80211 family instead of 10.4.8 for iwi2200? Can anyone who made it write a simple guide in point form so that we can follow it step by step? Thanks.
