Is this why the i226v loses connection in Tahoe?

I read this earlier in the thread and will test it when I get home…

What i found with the I226-V in Sequoia is that if you use the kexts and patch to get Broadcom wifi  working then the appleIGC.kext wont wrk and the I226-V Lan wont work but if you disable the patch for IOSskyfamily.kext and related kexts and patches then it works.”

I don't use Wi-Fi on that device, but every few minutes it loses internet access. I have to disable it in settings and then enable it again and it works again for another two minutes, and so on continuously.

Saluti.

I would like to understand how this FileVault activates itself, I did not find anything during the first installation, nor on the second to create an RDR - No- User image 😜

any answer is appreciated just out of curiosity

eSaF that kext is the one you had in EFI , I only added the new properties that are needed for Tahoe, maybe it didn't work well before?

Map the ports with the corpnewt app, maybe on Ventura, activate all the ports with usbinjectall (disable the current uiac) if necessary also enable the port limit

The generated kext will also work for Thaoe ... the ports are always the same 😆

Well, I mus admit I'm "a little" exhausted from days of trying but we know this is the game. Btw, I made an USB following all the tips found here (maybe making mistakes) and it boots Sequoia but it doesn't work with Tahoe. I applied also the booter patch. Could you just check main errors ? I erased only the smbios data. Thanks.

config 2.plist 39.86 kB · 4 downloads

could you be so kind and explain me how to apply the 'booter patch'

I just wanted to see if anyone else was experiencing the gray bar on the login screen (approx 1/3 screen) instead of the full screen wallpaper?

No grey bar but login screen is a fraction of the resolution but this was an issue for me on Sequoia too... Possibly because of second monitor being a different size and rendering first for some reason.

Oops... I've found the problem. The integrated I226V on my Asus x870F gaming motherboard works fine if I connect it at a maximum of 100Mbps...

I had to make a network cable to be able to lower it to 100Mbps, because with the AppleIGC.kext driver it can't be changed in settings, or at least even if I set it manually it doesn't do anything, it stays at the maximum of the switch which is 2.5Gbps and as soon as it exceeds 100Mbps of traffic the card drops...

At 100Mbps it works perfectly.

Both my monitors are identical besides one being 144hz and one is 165hz I think.

Hi Bud, apparently it is now a Security Feature Apple introduced.

But judging by the reactions by some because of no given choice when doing a clean install, I think they will change it.

You could be correct about my Ports not being quite right in the first place.

So in a nut shell what is the best and easiest way forward?

Read carefully what I indicated above 😆

Just for the hell of it, to sort the Fire Vault lock out, I did a fresh installation.

To see if I was just lucky the first time.

Happy to report all was well although my butt cheeks were quivering with fear at times.

@Anto65 the USB Port kext you posted for me induced a Panic after I followed your instructions.

Had to revert back to the files on the install USB Drive to get running again.

I will have to figure out how to map my ports on this version.

Got B/Tooth but no WiFi so can't really attach a pic of the panic.

At the end of the day, I am just happy to have it on the machine, but you know I won't be happy until I get my USB Ports sorted.

I will probably break something in the process, appreciate any tips/ideas.

Cheers.

@PoMpIs, would you so kind to explain how you made an ethernet cable throttling the speed down to 100Mbps ?  It sounded me like a magic. And I wonder if you have any specific settings in config.plist other than AppleIGC.kext. One guy in Applelife told me he runs i226-V without AppleIGC.kext and AMFI.kext . But when I do this it can not login after bbot process , just black screen. Here is the link https://applelife.ru/threads/ustanovka-macos-tahoe-26-beta-na-intel-pc.2979499/page-17#post-1064929

Update:  After a lot hassle, I found the solution here https://github.com/SongXiaoXi/AppleIGC/issues/23 . It is so simple only by enabling DisableIoMapper or DisableIoMapperMapping to True

Here you are saying something like just for fun. Fun is a bad word as far as Tahoe is concerned. :hysterical:

Well done though gives hope the possibility is there as an alternative.

Cheers. :thumbsup_anim:

Trust me I say it sarcastically because I havent managed to load Tahoe on my PC yet. But congrats on your install.😀

I continue investigating on my two computers that can be seen below each post. I have tried to start the installation USB on both without starting result of beta 1. I have tried a clean installation from Sequoia to a USB 1t see photo. With good results but I have had to use both computers to be able to finish the installation. I started with the Hasweel the OLD: with a MacPro7.1 this is the only one that finishes the installation because it does not have support with the RX560. I finished creating the users with the NEW equipment: and with the Intel graphics active you can see in the photo and in this process I have been able to install beta 1 and it works quite well. Let's see when beta 2 comes out and the RX problems are solved. Although in my case it does start and you can spend a few minutes investigating, after a while it goes to a black screen.

Working Clover V2 EFI on Sequoia 15.5

Boots like a charm with i5 11400 on my Gigabyte B560M H

Over macOS Tahoe it keeps rebooting, may be related to some kext's.

Please if someone cold fix boot in Tahoe partition.

To make a 100Mbps cable, use only 4 cables...

It worked perfectly for me, but at 100Mbps it's useless; it's not a viable solution...

I'm using an AMD motherboard. On Intel motherboards (at least on older systems), having IntelVTD enabled in the BIOS and I believe Disableiomapper in the OC usually works without AppleIGC.

3 network kexts, Which one is your card actually?

( Maldon specifies to remove what is not needed after installation )

USBInjectAll is useless if you have USBMap.kext

BrcmBluetoothInjector.kext for which OS? ( I used it for Catalina if I remember correctly )

I think you should create separate folders for kexts eg 26.0 (Tahoe) 13.0 (Ventura) .....

so that each kext is injected only into the System that needs it

I went to sleep and woke up this morning seeing in recovery terminal that the encryption process ended. After that I initiated the decryption process which seems to take an equal number of hours as the encryption. I’m hoping after the decryption is over, I’ll be able to load Tahoe again without any problematic login screen not accepting the account password and asking for a recovery key that I don’t have.

USBInjectAll macOS Tahoe for all Chipsets

I tested and just work fine. If you have any problems, you can still edit the kext plist.
