It seems that there is still no support for Polaris, in my case RX570 and RX560 and I have also seen a black screen, which is what happens to me on the RX590. I am not in favor of changing the BIOS and setting UHD 630 as default. I think we have to wait and see if someone else has the same problem I mentioned.

Maybe it is not related but....

Thanks. I'll give it a try and see how it goes, but I think the issue in my case is how the dGPU is being handled.

AFIAK there are no Polaris GPUs in 2020 iMacs so I wouldn't be surprised if apple drops support for Polaris GPUs all together.

I am beginning to suspect my problem stems from trying to do a fresh install oppose to what the majority of successful installs here are based upon I guess Upgrades.

I am wondering if any of the successful installs were done via a fresh installation. I am now in the process of installing Sequoia on a test drive and see if an upgrade is any better.

Such a PITA having to go that route for something that is only going to give me joy for one whole year.

Is it really worth all this hassle at the end of the day? :não:

Maybe you should try this @eSaF I hope help you:

sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Beta.app/Contents/Resources/startosinstall --volume /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD --agreetolicense --nointeraction

Need run in separated HD ok ? ;)

I get black screen after verbose runs, no errors then a reboot after 30 seconds. I cannot try iGPU because it's not supported. Using 6800XT, any recommendations to try

Anyone manage to get it going on a Z890??

Same config here and I've been testing various settings all day long to no avail!

I think I did the opposite to yours, after trying unsuccessfully via system update and noticing the latest OC commit I rushed to download the Full Installer... which was successful, I still have the USB created with the @Cyberdevs app 💪

Same here, I think Ive exhausted every option on that score.

Believe me this is pushing me to laying out a large amount of money on the real thing.

The downside to that idea is that I am throwing money at someone who really doesn't need it and probably heading to the divorce courts when the wife gets wind of what I am about to do.

The upside is I won't have to go through this hand ringing as much as now (I hope).

Until Apple decides to park the product you purchased after some years then you will be back to OCLP 🤣

The thing is the Black Screen issues in't just the Black Screen, the whole system freezes, no USB no Screen no nothing!

For me I don't get the freeze I think, after 30 seconds on black screen, I get a reboot back to the OC picker screen

Same Rx590. Rx500 series may be history.

@eSaF and others,

So far what I have learned is that the MacPro7,1 SMBIOS doesn't allow the installation process move further when initializing the AHCI ports, it get's stuck at initializing port 7 on my rig, but when I change the SMBIOS to iMac20,2 it moves forward and gets stuck at KextLog: Loading FileSet KC(s).....

Bro that is exactly where mine stalls with iMac 20.2

I am still trying to figure out why.

The same thing happens to me when using MacPro7,1

Trying fresh install on external drive.

It seems that most people are further along in the installation process than me.  I am able to create the installer but when I try to boot into the installer, I get the circle with the diagonal slash symbol.  Any idea what's going on?

I tried to install the Tahoe macOS Beta 1 on an external Samsung EVO 980 Pro (1TB) in an Acasis Thunderbolt 3 SSD enclosure.
At approximately "52 minutes remaining," I get the error message: "An error occurred, please try again."

I have already successfully installed Sonoma and Sequoia on the same SSD in the Acasis TB3 enclosure,

always starting from Sequoia, from the internal 500 GB SSD, in my 2019 MacBook Pro.

Why isn't it working with the macOS Tahoe Beta anymore?

Does anyone have any ideas?

UPDATE:

As far as I can see, no one here has any idea for my problem on the 2019 MacBook Pro (16-inch).

You're all just busy with your Windows PC Hackintoshes; I'm done messing around with Hackintoshes for a long time.

My old late 2013 iMac still works fine with OCLP, and that's enough for me.

But I want to check out the Tahoe {censored} on a still-supported Intel Mac, like my 2019 MacBook Pro, before I start on the old late 2013 iMac.

So I cloned my macOS 15.5 partition on my 2019 MacBook Pro to the internal SSD and then successfully updated to macOS 26 Tahoe on the cloned partition.

Now I have to take a closer look at all the Tahoe stuff to see what's actually going on.

Nevertheless, it's still a mystery to me why a clean install isn't possible on either the internal SSD or an external SSD with the error I've shown.

Surely none of you here has any idea what the problem could be, right?

@Max.1974 use SSDT_UIAC.aml cause i think apple dropped the support for intel usb chipset for some reason, its only recognising as Broadcom chipset lol

Thank you! I remove VoodooRMI, VoodooSMBUS and VoodooI2C and add my UIAC.aml from HT and XHCI.aml prepared to thunderbolt 3 and recognize installer and Thunderbolt (via USB-C probably) and going install

I post results here...thanks again to ALL - and going to 2th second stage now fresh installer 😄

My dear friend @AlfredoM the lazy time occurs in my Mac Mini M4 Pro when I install Tahoe on my Acasis TBH 4 with same Nvme EVO but 970 Plus. 20 min. It's real Mac and real thunderbolt case. So don't worry the think is it like that :hysterical:

Likely incompatible SMBIOS.

Try to choose one of these:
