Z690 system (ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Hero) installed easily onto a freshly formatted, internal SSD with 3 re-boots from start to finish.

On initial boot, while the Fenvi Wifi was inactive (using Fenvi, with an SSDT inactivated Intel 6E), there was a prompt to allow using my iPhone on the Wifi network, so it would seem that Sonoma was detecting a Wifi device...

Does anyone know what brand of Wifi the newer Macs are using?

PSA: Apple's OS Dev Betas are now free for everyone!

This also includes macOS Sonoma!

Strangely Sonoma is only available for ARM. No x86 images available.

Educovas has Broadcom WiFi in a mid 2015 working on Sonoma. No details posted except saying it may be put into OCLP some day.

macOS 14 b1 installed on Z390 + i9-9900k + 6600 XT + latest OpenCore and kexts.

Issues so far:

  • iMacPro1,1 with SecureBootModel j137 or j160 or x86legacy: KP when booting from macOS Installer, installation never ending, I can boot back to the current Ventura 13.4 disk.
  • iMac19,1 with SecureBootModel x86legacy: I can install Sonoma, installation ended successfully, no wifi (Fenvi T919), no Ethernet (Intel I219V7).
  • MacPro7,1 with SecureBootModel j160 or x86legacy: I can install Sonoma, installation ended successfully, no wifi (Fenvi T919), Ethernet works (Intel I219V7), but RestrictEvents not loaded so the old memory misconfiguration warning is displayed @PMheart. @PoMpIs

Tried for the wifi (no success):

  • DisableIoMapperMapping yes and not
  • DMAR table dropped and not dropped.

Moderately satisfied but network issue is a major drawback for me.

Did you add `-lilubetaall`, or at least `-revbeta` to forcibly load RestrictEvents? I roughly checked the patches, and they seem to be the same.

Can you please provide the fix? I tried to do the same on my Laptop but it Kernel Panics

Assuming you have a SKL machine and a working EFI for Ventura (if not, I'd suggest you do that first), make the following changes:

  • Update OC and kexts
  • Add boot-arg: -lilubetaall
  • Use a supported SMBIOS for e.g, MacBookPro15,1 (See supported list here)

Note: If attempting to install on an NVMe drive reliant on NVMeFix, then you're out of luck unfortunately as the kext is no longer supported/maintained; use a natively supported NVMe drive (preferably ones with Phison controller, like WD) OR install to SATA drive instead.

Im using a SATA SSD to test with but my NVME is present the WD SN850X (Ventura) however my WD SN570 does not show or my Samsung 970 EVO Plus, Yes, this has other things done to the kernel "Maxvalue"  that has to be updated or it will not boot + -lilubetaal, NVMeFix.kext disabled (have to remove Samsung NVME if left enabled)

Wifi is Apple Original BCM 94960CD with bluetooth
