SavageAUS
I’ve got a strange one that I’ve never seen before. Have not had any issues until now. When I boot into Ventura, it boots and I can login but I cannot see anything anything on my laptops screen. The loading bar and apple logo remain on the screen. I can VNC into my hack so I know it’s loaded and working but the screen is just black with the Apple logo and loading bar about half way. I have cleared the nvram. Kexts and OC are all up to date. One thing I have noticed is I am not seeing the “second stage boot glitch” since this has been happening. I have attached my config here. config.plist I just booted in verbose mode and verbose mode never goes away but I can still VNC in to the desktop. This is what is happening in the background. Lots of applekeystore failed. 2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/355052-pre-release-macos-ventura-132/#findComment-2799125 Share on other sites

You should be aware your graphics is HD630 and not NVidia. Control your SMBIOS and WE settings. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/355052-pre-release-macos-ventura-132/#findComment-2799134 Share on other sites

Control your SMBIOS and WE settings. Yes I am using a SSDT to disable my dGPU. At this moment I have macOS booting to the desktop now but no acceleration and 7mb video memory. I am using a stripped down device properties to get it working. If i add back in the device_id it boots to the loading bar and apple logo again so I am at a loss. I have looked at the dortania guide in case anything has changed but it is the same as the settings I am using. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0)</key> <dict> <key>AAPL,ig-platform-id</key> <data>CQClPg==</data> <key>framebuffer-con2-busid</key> <data>AgAAAA==</data> <key>framebuffer-con2-enable</key> <data>AQAAAA==</data> <key>framebuffer-con2-type</key> <data>AAgAAA==</data> <key>framebuffer-patch-enable</key> <data>AQAAAA==</data> <key>model</key> <string>Intel CoffeeLake-H GT2 [UHD Graphics 630]</string> </dict> </dict> </plist> Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/355052-pre-release-macos-ventura-132/#findComment-2799135 Share on other sites

Ok I’ve found a working framebuffer now to teat HDMI out and apply my patches if needed. I’ll add my AAPL,ig-platform-id here soon for anyone else. Scratch that. Still not working. Lilu is updated for Ventura? I shouldn’t need the -betaall flag? If Lilu wasn’t updated to support Ventura, that would lead to a definite panic/halt right away during kernel hand-over; no relation whatsoever to your display issue. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/355052-pre-release-macos-ventura-132/#findComment-2799156 Share on other sites

SavageAUS
Do you try SMBIOS MacBookPro16,1 (this version have UHD630) instead of SMBIOS MacBookPro15,2 Iris Plus 655 (your config.plist) I changed to 15,2 to get my HDMI working, couldn’t get it working with with 16,1. I’ll give it a go and post results. After changing back to 16,1 I have tried 5 different framebuffers all resulting in 7mb ram. I’ve been cleaning and resetting nvram in between each try. Could it just be a corrupt installation? I’ve run first aid with no errors. This install has been on my laptop for ages and it has gone through a lot of updates. Need to take a break for now. When I get back on I’ll test more. SavageAUS
So I’ve but the bullet and tried a fresh install of the latest beta for 13.2 still no luck. I am downloading 13.1 to test with my config to see if it is a macOS change or possibly hardware. Windows and Arch Linux still work fine though. So, I did the update (it was very short, so maybe it was just security focused) Yep, new update on New Year's eve?-thanks @meaganmargaret-mine didn't show up automatically, but when I clicked on software update it appeared.
