mrjayviper
my motherboard does not support NVMe boot so I've been using clover/refind I installed clover/refind into a USB. and I then boot into USB first then boot into NVMe (with either Windows or Linux). Is this possible with opencore? If yes, can you please provide (or link) on how to do this? Thank you. Second, if I can't, I ask for help. Try "HP Z820 bios nvme" on Google. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/350754-opencore-general-discussion/page/331/#findComment-2805514 Share on other sites

cankiulascmnfye
No. Inject ports with USBInject-All (The one from Dahliansky, since it supports more more current chipsets) and then create a usbportmap and then kick the kext again and disable xhci portlimit 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/350754-opencore-general-discussion/page/331/#findComment-2806418 Share on other sites
pkdesign
I've got a question for you all. I've been using MacbookPro13,1 for the longest time, but that SMBIOS will not let me update to Ventura. What would be my best option for a new SMBIOS that will update and not give me grief? SavageAUS
Not sure if anyone has said this recently but I just want to give a huge shoutout to the OC / Dortania devs who have made Sonoma and all previous versions possible on our non Apple non locked down hardware. If memory serves me the biggest hurdle I’ve seen was with big sur at first? But the upgrades after that have been smooth even Ventura to Sonoma (excluding brcm wifi). So once again a huge thanks from me. Keep up the good work. Acidanthera does not take any donations, but Dortania (specifically the OpenCore Legacy Patcher team) does. We take donations in hardware (ie. Macs, graphics cards, SSDs, etc.) For those, you can get in touch with me. We also recently opened up a donation page on Open Collective, for which the link is here. The funds will be used for buying hardware. 1 hour ago, STLVNUB said: To The OpenCore Legacy Devs Can You Possibly make it so the the install creater Making uses NOT the WHOLE Disk But Any Partitions you want to use PLEASE OCLP's installer creator is mostly just a wrapper around createinstallmedia with some OCLP specific stuff done afterwards. rajkhand
I want to boot Garuda Linux, OC 0.9.2 doesn't show the entry for it. I have already included bstrfsx64.efi and OpenLinuxBoot.efi drivers and enabled in config.plist file. I even tried the bless overide but no entry shown. My Garuda drive is btrsfs formated with zstd compression, is it because of the compression it is not recognized? What is the solution? 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/350754-opencore-general-discussion/page/331/#findComment-2806657 Share on other sites

SavageAUS
I think I have a m1 or m2 MacBook at work with a dead screen that I can possibly pull some information from just need to know what is needed for wifi and where to supply the information. It is a customers machine that has not been collected so it is password protected and I do not know the password. If I can still pull an ioreg or something helpful for Broadcom wifi please let me know. Perhaps I can get something via target disk mode? Or even format the drive to reinstall.
