Developers are forced to use user space driver extensions for them. I am not aware of any dext versions of for example USB wifi drivers yet. So definitely a problem. Transport route / bus doesn't matter. KEXT family does. Network KEXTs are deprecated since Catalina and likely unsupported in Bug Sur.
