@AudioGod Okay, yes, I just did and it literally says it's a post-install tool. I suppose I shouldn't use your EFI folder just to install macOS in the first place, then?

Yes you can can use it pre and post install no problems there.

your only going to use hackintool to add some lines to your clover config and nothing more so you can do it from within a real Mac no problem. Read up on how to do it where I pointed you too and give it a go.

Alternative EFI - N-D-K Fork of OpenCore (03/01/2020)

NDK OpenCore Z390 Pro Navi Vega EFI.zip - Vega 56/64 Navi (5700/5700XT) & Radeon VII DSDT

NDK OpenCore Z390 Pro RX Polaris EFI.zip - RX Polaris Series DSDT

Great to see an OpenCore variation of the EFI. From my little reading about OpenCore, I've seen people saying it doesn't play nice with dual boot Mac/Windows systems. Is this still the case?

that’s absolutely correct buddy, it’s horrid alongside windows but fear not as for this very reason we used a forked version of OpenCore done by N-D-K and he has made it so the dsdt and ssdt and any other system changes are not used when booting into any other OS other then Catalina (MacOS) so this version is completely fine to use with windows :thumbsup_anim:

it’s actually all there in the notes for OpenCore about the fork and windows buddy.

Nice! Works fine. Just a couple of extra ports listed and my USBPorts kexts had them identified as internal or type C but other than that this works!

BTW, do you have an OC guide somewhere?

@pkdesign A forked version of OpenCore done by N-D-K is now live on the thread. Check the first post on this page or its on the main guide and You can find info on it there too. :thumbsup_anim:

are you removing the power from the mains and then removing the battery from the motherboard for a few minutes to reset the bios fully?

you can also try reducing the Igpu memory from 64mb down too 32mb but do the bios reset properly first.

if it’s still happening after that then something is wrong with your system. Your welcome to send me your EFI to look at if you have made changes to it?

also if you don’t care about Sidecar then you can try switching the smbios to 1,1 and disable the igpu in the bios.

if it’s still happening after that then 100% something else must be causing it.

are you using my bios settings and the MSR unlocked profile?

Yes. Using all step-by-step in you guide.

When I replaced the OcQuirks & FwRuntimeServices with old OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000.efi it boots again as normal, but why? Why new drivers did not work with my system. But first boot works with the OcQuirks & FwRuntimeServices fine.

P.S. I using my previous Rt Variables for registered audio soft to continue working license for this.

I mean this RT Variables:
 - Product Name: iMac19,1

 - SmUUID: my old
 - MLB: my old
 - ROM: my old

@AudioGod Hey! It's me again. I had a look and tried a few patches (Disable egpu, use intel hdmi) to no avail. But then I tried something else: Put the USB stick in a different port. And now I get "unsupported speed mantissa" a few times before a dreaded crossed out O. I'm not sure if this is progress or not, but I thought I'd let you know in case you have some idea.

Click on the link and put in a dsdt request with MaLd0n and he will create a EFI for you that's perfect for your needs. :)

To Create Your Own Patched DSDT Message @MaLd0n using the link bellow

(If you want a perfect setup then getting your own patched DSDT made would be the best thing to do, Mine will work perfectly fine but different hardware no matter how small a change it is can tend to have some sort of effect on the DSDT and your setup)

no no no, do not use OpenCore Configurator . It's incomplete and beta

If you cannot configure config.plist use Textedit or BBEdit from AppStore, it's for free

In both EFI versions the config.plist is a typo in line 468 which prevents opening with PLISTedit pro etc

@texem its ok now, they fixed the bugs a few revisions ago. I have been using it for a bit now with no more problems

@velopitex Here you go pal, Replace with this EFI and put your details back and let me know if this solves it for you?

if you get any more errors after using this EFI then raise the igpu memory to 512mb :thumbsup_anim:

@AudioGod The link you posted also requires me to have gotten through installation first, but unfortunately I haven't :(. I'm really wondering what's so special about my setup. It seems very straightforward to me.

It’s ok ask MaLD0n for help and tell him I sent you to him. He will help you out don’t worry buddy. :)

NEW Clover EFI UPDATE 3rd January 2020

The EFI has now been updated to the my latest version.

Changes made include,

OcQuirks & FwRuntimeServices Latest Revisions

MemoryAllocation.efi now added to the UEFI driver folder to fix failure to boot due to memory allocation failure at start up

Whatevergreen 1.3.6 latest Beta

Clover Updated too Revision 5102

Plus other minor tweaks to the clover config

EFI Update - 03/01/2020 - Use with Bios revision F11 Only

19,1 Aorus Z390 Pro Navi Vega EFI.zip - Vega, Navi (5700, 5700xt), Radeon VII DSDT EFI

19,1 Aorus Z390 Pro RX Polaris EFI.zip - RX5XX Polaris DSDT EFI

If you are having trouble to boot up using smbios 19,1 with iGPU enabled then make the following change to the bios

• Settings -> IO Ports -> DVMT Pre-Allocated -> 512M

You will need to reset the bios by Removing the power cable and then pulling the battery on the motherboard for a few minutes to totally clear the nvram before loading into Catalina with the new EFI for the first time.

Use the unlocked MSR Bios profile if you can and untick kernelPM in the clover config if you do use it and then make the following changes to the bios,

If you prefer using SMBios 1,1 then by all means switch to it but all the old problems of using 19,1 are corrected now with this EFI plus DRM is fully working unless you have a  Polaris gpu. Just to add, SMBios 19,1 is the correct one to be using for our chipset and cpu, if you check the spec of a real macpro it is not a using a CoffeeLake CPU or Z3xx chipset. It does work perfectlyl but correct is correct so 19,1 it is. :)

With this EFI system boot successfully.
Fine booting with 32M and 64M of igpu memory and using my own Rt Variables details.

Thank you AudioGod the Wise !!!

P.S. I will continue testing my system with work in audio hosts and with sound in general.

Awesome buddy that's great.

Ive updated the EFIs to work like this in general now so you don't need to update to the latest EFI I just posted as its what your using. :)

dont worry about the audio side,

its what my hack gets used for all the time and Im yet to find the limit of what my hack can handle.

Logic, Cubase, Wavelab, Komplete, iZotope suite its all good baby :hysterical:

A few questions about your latest update. I'm running a similar but not quite the same EFI but following along with your changes on a Z390 Pro Wifi. Aside from the kext updates what did you find darkwake=8 and MemoryAllocation.efi fixed? I can't seem to find any information on MemoryAllocation.efi and where it came from.

Also should I see the Intel GPU in Graphics/Displays in System Report? I feel like I used to see it there and now I don't.

Alternative EFI - N-D-K Fork of OpenCore 3rd January 2020

Big Thanks to @texem for hes countless hours of hard work and help to bring a fully working version of OpenCore for you all to try.

We have chosen to use N-D-K's Fork of OpenCore as it works happily alongside windows and has a lot of features and changes that I wish were in the original version of OpenCore,

Support on this thread for these EFIs won't be great but @texem and myself will help out where we can.

PLEASE NOTE - All bios settings and guide notes are the same for these EFI's apart from I've set it to smbios 1,1 so your also need to set your IGPU to disabled in the bios but your welcome to try and use smbios 19,1 with IGPU enabled instead and if it works for you then please do report back and let me know.

OpenCore.054-NDK-Aorus-z390-pro-Polaris.zip - RX Polaris Series DSDT

OpenCore Configurator.zip

Hi @AudioGod and @texem and thank you for your amazing effort!!! So I've tried the Polaris variant of the OpenCore EFI.

USB setup is kind of funny. With iMacPro1,1 SMBIOS (and iGPU turned off, of course) it occurs sometimes that bluetooth does not function. It is a little random to be honest. If reboot, it works. After a next reboot it doesn't etc...

I tried to switch to iMac19,1 SMBIOS and USB ports do not work, as well as Bluetooth (the internal usb header does not work, probably).

Investigating a bit more, I saw that on config.plist the quirk "XhciPortLimit" is enabled, which, if I am not mistaken, it should be disabled when a USBPorts.kext is present. So I disabled it, rebooted but unfortunately USB ports were still not working (all these with the iMac19,1 SMBIOS).
