They do. Apple fixed this in 10.14.5. I checked one at the Apple Store. Running on Catalina, you should have a tab. That's why it's there in OC but just not Clover. OC is listing the tabs correctly, Clover not so much.

Ah ok I did not know this about 10.14.5, fair play

What did I just say in my last post to you trouble maker?  Take a chill pill or something already LoL

@Tiem I’m running with no patches via 057 testing at the moment and I saw your comment on the oc thread about sata rename being needed.

what exactly is it messing up via photoshop and il give it a blast now and double check?

I was actually going to send you a beta test version to try as I’ve made many changes in a good few departments and all for the better.

Open disk utilities, find your disk with the DATA folder, click show in FINDER and delete the folder (macOS Install Data)

Load an image in photoshop. Any large jpg (~3MB). Select Save for Web. It'll beachball right away. After the settings, it'll beachball again. Mine hanged for a solid 1m. Since restoring the patch, Ps behaves as it should (no delay at all).

If what the OC dev said, there shouldn't be any need to touch anything else after removing the patches. And if they are just redundant, then there shouldn't be any conflicts anyway.

Are you still running iMacPro? Shoot me the EFI and I'll test it. I'm still on the MacPro.

they ain’t redundant in other os, anything used in the patches section gets loaded into windows or Linux and I can’t be having that.

if you want to add back the sata rename then do it via a ssdt not via patching.

im testing under 19,1 and it’s rock solid again with no tricks this time...lol

il fire it over to you in a mo, many many changes have been done. Il make a change log along with the Efi.

give me 5 and il pm it across to you.

before I do I’m gonna try what you said in photoshop and report back....here goes...lol

@Tiem It’s working with zero issue using a 11mb 4K pic. I did what you saId and it was almost instant no beachball as you call it. @WizeMan uses photoshop via hes work and he has my new EFI so he will check on hes end tomorrow and see what happens. Anyway let me get this EFI fired over to you.

5 mins bud :)

Looks interesting. I see some errors when I run current OC config plist.

oh my lord no, I do not approve of that at all. One glove fits all only goes so far,

it’s a good idea though. :)

I cleared NVRAM and restarted without any patches. There's still a diff in Ps where it beachballs but for a considerably shorter time. But there's a diff between running the patch and not.

Yeah new Beta on my side OC EFI,

Ive been doing some major major work and brave changes,

clovers just fine, OpenCore is my current hobby....lol

Between me and @texem we have got it working like a dream now and also very stripped back in a good way. :)

Considering it's you that is doing it, I might actually have to try OC since I trust your work so much! I've been very resistant. I like my themes  I also dual boot Windows on a separate disk.

I dual boot windows on a separate nvme drive and always have.

i have the ssdts patched so they only are used when in macOS so windows is a non issue now days and I’m very very protective when it comes to windows as I need it just as much as macOS.

as for themes, that’s in NDKs OpenCore now and will be in the next release on here and OpenCore have started down that road too via OpenCanopy but personally I’m used to plain writing now and @texem doesn’t even bother with a boot splash anymore and uses hot keys if needed.

That’s using the new beta Oc EFI he forgot to point out. ;)

ya I should have made that clear. I mean I was talking to you mostly because you know what I'm running and are somewhat close to it (before you go off and make changes). In any case, it was the NVRAM most likely. And when you release your new EFI it won't matter because that fixes it entirely. Also probably gonna have some unique problems running 7,1 and I'm fine with that. It's the future!

Just a note to all you polaris people, looks like 10.15.4 finally fixes DRM issues in safari. Was just able to load up Netflix fine and stream in Safari. I'm on iMac1,1 though, so it's possibe you may need some shiki values if on 19,1.
