Hello Friends,

Is anybody have an issue with USB ports? I mean all USB ports have no response (randomly happening) keyboard, mouse, midi-controller all at ones. But you can put to sleep your PC via power button on the case. All works fine but without USB ports and need to use reset button for reboot.

Never heard of that one before bud, is it happening randomly or is there a process that sets it off?

clover or Oc?

I had been facing this issue, quite randomly but not quite often, didn’t think to mention it until I saw your post. It surely has happened with Clover EFIs, not sure about OpenCore.

I tried to check the logs but didn’t find any substantial clue as to why it’s happening.

I will be more alert from now on since there is another user experiencing this, to see whether it’s only Clover or OC too (I’m running OC now).

Remove all power from the system and then remove the battery from the motherboard for a few minutes, put it all back together and load back in your bios profile and it should work fine from there.

Had the same problem after cloning my current installation from a SATA SSD to an M.2 NVMe, copying the latest EFI to the M.2, and finally cut and pasting the serial numbers and the UUID to the new config.plist file. I also changed the boot priority in BIOS to have the M.2 first on the list. Any idea of what I did wrong, or is it just "one of those things" that happen with a Hackintosh?

I just shorted the CLR_CMOS pins (internal connector 21 in the manual) with a screwdriver instead of removing the battery. Worked like a charm.

Randomly, not so often but still happening.
As always using your GREAT clover EFI build. For now updated to 05/03/2020 and CFG Unlock with BIOS clean and see if it can happening again.

Maybe my WiFi combo do this https://imgur.com/a/oozd7dX because Bluetooth connected to mobo via USB port too. I can't to reproduce the issue to check it. I use Magic Keyboard 2 & Magic Mouse 2 via BT and some times my ROLI Lightpad Block.

the only usb problem i have and have ever had is the Usb2 ports don’t always connect for some reason but this isn’t a macos thing as it also happens in windows to and the resolve for me when it does happen is to unplug and then replug in the dervice and it works again.

this happens on all gigabyte boards and some asus boards too.

OpenCore some scaring me :) I haven't use it before. I think to try OC too.

Hey just a question. What m.2 nvme is applicable for this motherboard (z390 pro)? Im not really familiar with the different lengths of this so i need help. Thanks!

Now days most are tbh but if you get a Samsung 970 EVO PLUS just make sure you update it to the latest firmware first via windows or it may not work.

samsung 970 EVO (not the plus) is a very safe bet

OcQuirks Revision 19 & FwRunTimeServices Latest Versions (I am Now using the plist too)

Please include the plist in the drivers folder, I have made some changes to the plist that should make it play a lot more friendly now with the IGPU enabled.

Please report how it works for you :)

The one I am using is the Samsung 970 EVO NVMe M.2. Works out of the box for me. It is 80mm in length. There are two M.2 slots... M2A can accommodate 42, 60, 80, 110mm... the M2M only up to 80mm. If you use slot M2A, you'll lose use of the SATA1 port (only with a M.2 SATA SSD) while  with the M2M, you'll lose SATA4 and SATA5 (M.2 PCIe and SATA).

I'm not sure what I should be looking for to see if it "works for me". At least it didn't crash during boot up. Otherwise my setup seems to be behaving.

If you have a z390 aourus pro and you use clover you should add this driver. Bottom line.. it fixes {censored} you may not have been hit with before... If after using the driver you see no diff.. great... If in 3 months time you say the same.. it works... and it's still great. Rejoice.. I dunno how many times I have the problem this fixes in the months past.. it's a pain in the hole.. What your looking for is nothing... Stable 19,1, boots whenever as many times. Nothing of note to see with igpu enabled could be considered bliss default_smile.png

Edit -

What I meant to say and not directly to you .. is you should notice nothing but your system booting when you need it too.. if it does not and it's a mem alloc error, report it..

The plist settings are those I suggested almost exactly one month ago (with an additional new one). I can confirm that I haven't had any memory problems with iGPU enabled since, with multiple daily boots including windows and macOS ! Nice to see them here ^_^

The correct path according to documentation and the vanilla guides is EFI/Clover/Drivers/UEFI

Interesting as the readme on the GitHub page where the code lives says drivers.

And where would that be?

It says “CLOVER EFI drivers directory”. It does not say the exact path, because there are legacy and non legacy drivers and the path could defer for each build.

In our case the “Clover EFI drivers directory” is EFI/Clover/Drivers/UEFI

Never seen anyone refer to or use a uefi dir inside drivers.. until now hadn’t realised this was a thing. either way it works without it..
