Hmm, for my ADI 1988b only SPIDF works. Line-Out is selectable, but no Sound.

With Patcher Version 1.15 my Soundcard was detected, but no patching.

Looks like:

AppleHDA Patcher - 2006/2007 Taruga V1.15

Codec: Analog Devices AD1988B

Vendor ID: 0x11d4198b

Thats all, all i can do is push the "quit" button!

Does that mean you have working headphone jack :)

Yes, ext. mic and headphone jacks works. Internal speaker + mic works. External digital output and line in NOT TESTED - have no devices to add there. I have tested chatting over iChat via firewire, as do not have network connection yet and waiting for external wi-fi usb stick.

Is there a document anywhere showing the supported chipsets for each release of your patcher?

Thanks once again for all your hard-work :(

Some problematic codecs where commented out of the patcher, like alc880 for ex. there are being studyed

ok, one more time.....

Use mifki´s or daemon´s kernel... that problem happens with some versions of semthex kernel.

i read that bit and considered, but after considerable research i found that is suitable for sse3 processors. i have sse2, as mentioned before. as asked before, if there is a particular download that I need please tell me where to get it from exactly.

thanks.

Argh. I can't get this to work with my Bad Axe 2... I tried using the posted 9274D info but it doesn't matter whether I open the patcher with a file or without, it ends up in either a freeze or the multi-language screen of death either way.

EDIT: I fixed it myself (yes I went back and read the thread).

Now lets see if I can go back to semthex kernel... I never had any problems with it outside of this one so why stop using it?

Hi Taruga. I still didn't found a Linux dump for AD1888 (Asus P4P800-X mobo and many other Asus mobo's). I will give you the specifications in .pdf (maybe helps you or others). I mention the ID's are: Vendor ID = 8086; Dev ID = 24D5. Rest of the specifications can be found in the attached pdf (I hope). I have no idea how to make a Linux dump.

Thanks in advance.

Does anybody have a Linux Codec Dump for

Codec : Realtek ALC260

Vendor Id : 0x10ec

Hardware Id: 0260

I know the 0262 is working as I see a dump on the repository.

None of the Linux Live Cd work and I have tried a few of them.

Thanks

just for info:

I have working audio with 10.4.8 Jas, semthex kernel 8.8.1 on Dell D620 with sse2.

i used patcher v1.11 and someones STAC9200G codec dump file. Not one crash or problem.

the only issue is the known headphones+internal problem

I don't really know about the DVD version, but here are some basic info:

Dell D620, sse2 Duo Core disabled,

Jas 10.4.8 Intel/AMD, sse2/3 DVD

Stac9200

System Version: Mac OS X 10.4.8 (8L2127)

Kernel Version: Darwin 8.8.1

8.8.1 Darwin Kernel Version 8.8.1: Sat Dec 9 22:18:27 AZOT 2006; semthex:/nebukadnezar/BUILD/obj/RELEASE_I386 i386 i386

and using patcher v1.11 with some codec file(s) works out of the box - sound out (both internal and headphones)

+ sound effects, sound in (internal mic).

While this question might be a little off-topic I can't resist since we have so many people and they are all interested in audio....

I just built a badaxe2 based system and everything works really well (I highly recommend that mobo - Last friday I built the system from scratch and had it triple booting OSX Ubuntu and XP before dinner (CPU and video card weren't delivered till noon that same day).

Anyway I need some advise on some good (good as in $$ as opposed to great as in $$$$) speakers to attach to this new baby of mine... It has a STAC9274D audio chip (supported in the latest versions from what I've read)... I'm guessing this mobo pretty much handles all of the latest audio formats 5.1 7.1 etc and I know it as optical out and a few other audio ports on the back as well as the front... Intel manual states some/all of those ports are user definable via software - I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that that ain't gonna happen in OS X any time soon... but Ubuntu and XP will work fine I'm sure (sigh).

So anyone wanna throw out some speaker models that aren't too expensive yet sound 'pretty good' - I've got permanint ringing in both ears so lets just say I'm not looking for or wanting to pay for perfection... :(

I have an ALC262, and posted my codec dump a page or 2 back. I updated my kernel to the latest semthex. v15 just gives 3 lines stating my card info, v13 goes through the whole deal of patching the file, but upon reboot I have no sound and nothing appearing in the audio system preferences panel. What version should I try, if any, to get sound working? is the 262 unsupported?

Hey guys!

I have an ASUS P5GL-MX as a motherboard.

As many of us, I have experienced a strange problem with the audio.

I can see the volume bar, apparently the computer is working and the audio as well, but nothing comes out from the speakers. It is not a question of plugging and unplugging them, because I have made all sorts of tries, with no results.

Now: I have tried also Tartuga's method with the patcher etc., but I believe it is not working for me.

First of all: if I take off from my extensions "AppleAzaliaAudio.kext", my "HD Audio Output" just disappears from the list of Audio devices.

It disappears even when I install AppleHDA.kext.

Then: several months ago, I had taken this note regarding my onboard sound card:

A) VEN_11D4&DEV_1986
B) "8086" and "2668"

Now: would anybody be able to help me to get the sound coming out from my speakers?!? <_<

Thank you so much for your help, whomever you are. I won't forget it. :o
