fatal error
Tuxx, would it be possible to paste the dev. driver to the forum to see how it is doing? I would be very interested in taking a look at the source.
vanja
Next week 10.4.4 will be released. MacBook Pro has "Airport" card but I assume it is based on the Intel Wireless. So maybe we can get the drivers from it.
fatal error
Well see! I hope that a driver will be included with the 10.4.4.

fatal error
So I think we still need to create a driver to make it work. By the way. Would be interesting to know how far Tuxx is with the driver.

drarcheh
So, the development for this driver is dead... I can do some programming, although I have near to no experience with OS X/802.11/darwin development. Too bad i can't be of much help here. Now, how will we ever get our wifi to work? Urbz
Just go and get a dell truemobile 1450. I think it's our only feasible solution at this point in the game. -Urby
vanja
Is there any way to install minipci card which that Dell uses in laptop with Intel 2200 b/g? Did not search to much, but in theory it could go (although I have heard that some manufacturers have restrictions). kikos
Is there any way to install minipci card which that Dell uses in laptop with Intel 2200 b/g?Did not search to much, but in theory it could go (although I have heard that some manufacturers have restrictions). It depends on your laptop. Check this website or other websites to determine if people have successfully swapped the mpci card in your laptop with another vendor's card. IBM's bios, for example, prevents any "unauthorized" cards from working unless some hacking is done. I got an BCM4309 mpci card for about US$30. It works great with WPA encryption in OSX using 10.4.4 extensions and in Windows XP using Dell driver.
Killer Loop
Tuxx, I've given up on the modifying the kernel. Its overkill like you said. It takes too much time, its way to complex, and it crashed every single time. It's like building a ferrari with a truck chassis. The two kernles weren't as similair as I thought. Any how, I want to help you with this driver. PM, so we can talk about getting up to date and trying to make it work. I'll be having alot of free time in the next week, so let me know. Peace. Spyrow
What is the solution for all us with Intel Wireless in our laptops? Can we buy any other USB Wifi card, from Broadcom, for example?? Is it the only way?
ozzie123
Buying a broadcom USB is might be a good deal. I haven't tried one but the new iMac is using broadcom's wifi card.

Ben Eyre
Why, dont you just look at HCL (working list) and buy a wireless pc card aka cardbus, and stick it in the slot, rather than wait on something that might not happen, isnt than easyer? Peace Ben
vanja
Ben Eyre, I would not recommend pc card, because it leads to another problem of pc card drivers. USB is a good solution. Might be good also mini pci thing.
