Slice Posted October 17, 2014 Share Posted October 17, 2014 Thank you for reply,I'm sure I select boot0af,and first HFS partition doesn't have file boot,only EFI folder,so if I select boot0ss it should not boot CLOVERX64.EFI. Debug.log is impossible on HFS partition. So if it possible on FAT32 partition on MBR legacy BIOS? I tried to format FAT32 and install clover on disk0s3,reboot and it shows b1f error,I searched got slice answered in projectosx said b1f:error means file boot is not found.But it installed file boot on /Volumes/BOOT,why?Does this mean I can't install clover on FAT32 partition? Did you install by package or manually? #4 If by package then show please your option to install. If manually then please repeat all your commands exactly as you did. There is a mistake somewhere. Clover works fine. install by package,attach is the option to install,only select two option.I will try if it works. joe75 Posted October 17, 2014 Share Posted October 17, 2014 HFS+ works fine if you are installing to / using the /EFI/ folder for clover but files like the Debug.log that is written outside of the os and saved to /Clover/misc/ folder can only be written to Fat file system. scott_donald Posted October 17, 2014 Share Posted October 17, 2014 trying to set up a yosemite installer... fresh install with terminal command to USB install clover - Clover_v2k_r2953 copy over from my working Mavericks drive to kexts/10.10... reboot disconnect working mavericks drive - boot off USB and clover loads fine but when i try and run the installer nothing happens... just a flash then nothing... any ideas??? installed clover version - r2957 and my own clover config from mavericks and no longer see the install icon... so thinking its a clover problem... It works just fine with Yosemite (final version). But once I try to boot up Mevericks with it, it just doesn't go past the first stage boot. After showing the first stage boot logo + spinning wheel, the screen goes completely black, the power LED on my monitor goes On and Off (as if it doesn't receive any signal from the computer) and stays like that forever. And I'm pretty sure the Inject Nvidia is the culprit, because if I switch back to Inject Intel (even though I'm not using an Intel Graphics card and even though the built-in iGPU is disabled in UEFI BIOS), Mavericks (10.9.5) boots up just fine. Anyone else encountered this issue? Installed the final Yosemite build on my new hardware (specs are at the end of the post). Then installed Clover r2953 on the Yosemite partition (Install for UEFI booting only + Install Clover in the ESP), then mounted the EFI partition where Clover was installed, copied the FakeSMC.kext and AppleIntelE1000e.kext, and finally modified the config.plist. Then restarted Yosemite and booted it from the Yosemite installation USB thumb with installed Clover. Since then Im getting the bellow error, and no go. Download official "Installer OS X Yosemite.app" and leave it in your Applications folder2. Update your disk OS X 10.9.5 to Clover boot loader r2953 ( if you aren’t already ! )3. Copy your EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.9 folder and past and rename it 10.104. Update kexts in 10.10 folder if needed specially for Yosemite5. Launch « Installer OS X Yosemite.app » on OSX 10.9.5 Mavericks disk6. On reboot chose in Clover BOOTMENU « Boot OS X Install from « your disk name »7. This will install and update your 10.9.5 disk to Yosemite and reboot once to finish8. I think clover works on FAT32 EFI ESP,but not on a normal FAT32 partition with legacy bios.How UEFI worksI assume UEFI boot win 8.1 DVD to load bootmgr.efi to install,but DVD is CDFS filesystem,UEFI only support FAT32,how does UEFI find the bootmgr.efi?I don't have a UEFI motherboard,how does UEFI load efi Automatic?or add manually? What is better for an Legacy BIOS board: Clover or Chameleon? I know Clover on a UEFI board has ability to reboot to Windows via the startup disk menu, iMessage fix (I think chameleon has this now as well, though), Booting any OS in EFI mode, as well as booting any OS in legacy BIOS mode (which means you can boot chameleon through Clover if you want to) Can Clover on a legacy BIOS board has ability to reboot to Windows via the startup disk menu?I tried but failed,why? arsradu Posted October 19, 2014 Share Posted October 19, 2014 Hey guys I'm back with a little bug report regarding Clover 2953 and graphics injection feature. We've got two issues: 1. Yosemite - system not shutting down properly (going into reboot instead) if Inject Intel is checked in Graphics (or no inject at all). Works perfectly with Inject Nvidia. 2. Mavericks - system not booting up (hangs after 1st stage boot) with Inject Nvidia. Works perfectly with Inject Intel (or no inject at all). The computer shuts down properly if Inject Nvidia is checked (nothing else checked) and goes into reboot when attempting to shut it down, if Inject Intel is checked (or no inject at all). With nothing injected, it seems that Clover takes the Inject Intel behavior by default. Now, in my particular case, I don't think I need to inject anything because, for as far as I know, the GTX 650 is officially supported. But if I don't select anything in Graphics injection, I think it injects Intel anyway, which creates the reboot issue I was talking about. So, could someone either fix the issue for Mavericks so it can boot up properly with Inject Nvidia, or fix the one for Yosemite so that it can shut down properly without anything injected (or if Inject Intel is selected)? The issues above have been confirmed on a Nvidia GT 640 graphics card as well. So I'm not the only one. And the "fix", so far, but it works only on Yosemite, is to inject Nvidia so that we can have a proper shutdown. If you need any kind of information that might help you fix this issue, please, let me know, and I'll do my best to provide it. Cheers!
