    Black screen on boot (only sometimes)

    What GPU? I experience the same thing occasionally. Monitor loses signal at the login screen, but once I re-plug the mDP cable, the signal comes back on. I can see the text in verbose mode.
  2. Ok, then you can give Yosemite a try too. I also had Sapphire Nitro, maybe it happens on some brands but not on others. Those people that does not have this issue seem not to have Sapphire but I am not sure.
  3. I did not find any other solution then changing GPU. When I connected to OS X via teamviewer I could see the desktop but not click on anything, like it was totally frozen. 290x and 390x have same ID. What hardware do you have? Can you test in Mavericks or Yosemite? Maybe it's a El Capitan issue, but I could not try any older version since I have Skylake. What brand is your 390? It does not seem to be a issue on 390 or Hawaii only, since somebody with a Pitcairn has similar issue. O yeah, and it's weird that not everybody with a 390 seems to have this issue.

  5. Why are you using NullCPUPowerManagement.kext? When you use Clover it is not needed, you can set AsusAICPUPM to true, or maybe you don't have to do anything, on my Z170 Hero MSR is not locked so I did not have to do it. EmuVariableUefi-64.efi - Are you sure you need this? Maybe nvram works fine for you and this file is not needed. OsxLowMemFixDrv-64.efi - Do not use this together with AptioFix, use only Aptio.
  6. Oops, I mean the monitor goes to sleep but does not wake up. * Has anyone tried to unplug the monitor before putting PC to sleep, and connecting it again when PC has woken from sleep?
  7. I have switched to a 280x and the wake from sleep issue is still here, but I don't use sleep so don't care. I had glitches and black screens with my R9 390 too, so probably it's not because yours is OC'd. What is your GPU, Hawaii too I guess?
  8. For me, Clover auto detects all my ram but it shows the wrong speed in OS X. Should be 3000. I guess it does not matter since it's just cosmetic. I don't use any XMP profile anyway so the ram runs at 2133 MHz.

  10. Switched to a Gigabyte 280x Windforce and it works well. No issues so far, and I hope there won't be any.
  11. I'm having issues with my Sapphire R9 390 Nitro in El Capitan. I use FakeID 0x67B01002 in Clover, I have FixDisplay_0100 set to True and ATI Injection is disabled. I am using MacPro17,1 SMBIOS but also tried MacPro6,1. What happens is that the monitor goes black all of sudden and I can't figure out why. It happens randomly, sometimes it does it several seconds after loggin in to OSX, other times I have managed to use the OS for 1 hour or more before it happens. What I have noticed when I used teamviewer on iPad to remote control OSX while the monitor was black, I could see the OSX desktop but clicking and scrolling did not work. It's like the system is frozen. Then I used Putty on Windows to SSH into OSX and used "tail -f /var/log/system.log" to be able to see live what is going on when the monitor goes black. Is it a issue with driver in OSX or is it the GPU? Would switching to another GPU like R9 280x maybe solve the issue?   12. I also hope that I219V will be working soon, currently using WiFi but would prefer ethernet so I can login during OS X setup.
  13. I have R9 390 and monitor does not want to wake from sleep, when I wake the PC from sleep. Tried safe mode but same thing happens. I am having other issue with this GPU in OSX El Capitan, screen flicker that occurs sometimes, monitor goes black randomly and rebooting PC is needed to make it show picture again.

    Thank you but it behaves the same as my patch. On Baladi: DP1: Monitor gets no signal and goes to sleep. DP2: It works. DP3: It works. Tried Exmoor and no DP ports work. I just experienced a black screen again, and had to restart PC. So the framebuffer patch does solve the screen tearing and the monitor does not lose signal after verbose, but the black screen still occurs.

Sometimes after I re-plug the DP cable the picture comes back but there is no gui or icons on the screen, there is just a blurry wallpaper. When I try DP port 2 and 3 I can get it to work but it also goes to sleep after verbose sometimes while it works normal other times. When I tried to use HDMI port it showed out of range on the monitor. Did not try DVI. @Pavo told me on IRC that this card can only run one monitor and that a Framebuffer patch is not needed and disabling ATI Injection in Clover should be enough. But when I try to use the card without framebuffer patch I have occasionally experienced screen tearing/flashing and the monitor tends to go black after random amount of time and I have to restart PC for the picture to show again. Sometimes the monitor loses signal and goes to sleep after verbose other times it keeps the signal and does not go to sleep. I am using FakeID 0x67B01002 in Clover, I have ATI Injection Enabled now and FixDisplay_0100 set to true. Attached my config.plist 10.11.1_FrameBufferList.txt
