Press W while ##### starts (blinking cursor) - in bootmenü press M for bootloader settings

Thx, worked :)

So, finally got it working:

- Finder silenly closes when trying to open SL drive, but works fine on drive with 10.7

- sound shown in profiler, but doesn´t seem to work

- energy saving and screen saver cause KP

- shutdown works, reboot doesn´t

looks good so far, curious for further builds and a more "chameleon like" boot loader *fingers crossed*

Cheers

You have to delete PlatformSupport.plist in System/Library/CoreServices...

should help.

Lion is running now, with plopping Sound, but without proper graphic..8(

use 9600GT, which is not in the xxx.plist entries.

Manual Set in info.plist (like in SL) didnt work..

Anyone, who is using this Card wird success? Nivida 9600GT (10de0622) ?

Thanks for your reply , but , this file is not there and i still have the same problem

ALC888 audio is working courtesy of a solution by Xmedik from a post by Sunki

I haven't asked permission to post this so I apologise in advance if Xmedik takes offence but hopefully he won't.

I am using the Gigabyte EP45-DS3L and can confirm this works for me.

The solution comprises a patched AppleHDA.kext:

EDIT: Binary removed from this server

And a newer solution now exists, posted by cparm here which I've confirmed working.

and a Device (HDEF) patch for DSDT.

I've posted the files as I've found them but I'm sure the DSDT patch can be tweaked as System Profiler/Audio currently shows me this:

But for now I'm happy.

Great work Xmedik

Hi all.

I need a little help.

One question came to my mind.

In the step 2 where it says: Delete Packages alias from /System/Installation we're talking about the partition where I restored the Mac OS X Base System, right?

Because I got this error message in Terminal when it comes to:

post-223908-1299179581_thumb.png

sudo cp -R /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Install\ ESD/Packages /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Base\ System/System/Installation

So I believe I did something wrong.

Can someone point me it?

The ##### Flash Drive I created is working just fine cause I could manage to boot into the Mac OS X Base System partition without problems but couldn't manage to install it because says that the partition has problems. I believe it says that due to the error message from Terminal.

Cheers,

bb.

P.S. - Does anybody here had problems with an 9800 GT - 512 Mb - DDR3 - 256 bits - DVI|VGA|HDMI in Lion connection through HDMI or DVI outputs?

Have you tried deleting the DSDT.aml file from the #####/XPC stick? That happens to me when I have a DSDT file there, for some reason it's not compatible with Lion.

If edited properly, the DSDT.aml should work. As started, mine works 100% and HPET, LPC, USB, and SATA are all up and running. Audio (trying the ALC888.kext posted above), and video/graphics-play-back-too-fast (no busratio/CPU detection) are the only things yet to work in Lion.

EDIT: My ATI 5770HD 1GB is detected and works with no injection, full QE/CI.

I have 9800GT 512MB Dual DVI working with NVEnabler, no luck with DVI->HDMI Cable yet :)

... and YES, we are talking about the partition you restored the .dmg to. Delete the Packages link via finder, after that copy will work.

Hi,

I was able to run Lion on Asus P5E using AcpiPatcher.efi from XPC in modules folder of ##### USB. Without it I get a kernel panic (no HPETs available).

AcpiPatcher.efi.zip

I got it from this thread

http://www.applelife.ru/topic/15420-xpc-н...ne-tom__st__930

The bad side effect is it breaks ##### SMBIOS patching. CPU speed is wrong.

Guys, is there anyway to convert MBR to GUID without formating (Lion needs GUID partition scheme...)?

Tried with iPartition, told me that some system partitions would be erased, don't know what that means...

hello , everyone , i finally managed to boot lion with ##### , but , when i install it , i can't boot the disk , saying

The Version of Mac osx is not supported on this platform

Remove platformsupport.plist from /System/Library/CoreServices.

It'll boot after doing that, you can remove it using another booting system like snow or windows.

Hi ppl!

Now i know a fix to make Lion show all your memory over 4GB in 32bit / 64bit kernel with a dirty trick..

836098.jpeg

Uploading a zip file here. copy the files over to your EFI folder on your ##### drive..

Whoops its work!

But still need a fix to show correct memory mhz..

hi

AcpiPatcher does not work for me, I always have the same error (no HPETs available) ;)

If Lion panics because of AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement.kext - just delete the kext from /S/L/E and boot with -f for rebuild caches!

hi ,

this method does not work either ! ;)

PLEASE !!!!!

can someone find out how to make change to the config on #####

all i need is for it to use the lowest screen res first (800x600)

and start in GUI mode, if not display text.

I tried 9 pc and 2 laptops just to get the ##### working, all of then give me the quick flash of "MB Starting" or "M" something. then the black screen of death, no W or D or U or R can save you at this point. I did tri a ibm thinkcentre m52 and i got the indent upper-left cursor, i press W got the GUI saw the Mac OS X Base ..., then selected it to installed, it got stuck about in the middle of its 11th row of dots (.), when loading drivers.

eg:

.................................................... (1)

^

|

V

.................................................... (10)

................... <- here (11)

but all the other system i test this usb on will not display any GUI or change screen resolution.

Remove platformsupport.plist from /System/Library/CoreServices.

c0rk - I've been following your postings both here and at netkas.org and have two questions:

1. Is your cross-compile of Chameleon installable from a partition other than the target (from Snow, for example)?

2. Does it detect (not boot, but merely detect) Snow volumes?

If it doesn't detect them, that's one way to tell which loader screen is staring you in the face - if it does, however, that is one way to tell the two versions apart (as current Chameleon doesn't detect Lion volumes).

I'm asking because my Hack volume has two partitions - one is my main Snow partition (Meow), while the other is intended for Lion (which, naturally, is the name of that partition). I'm running Chameleon 2 RC5-745 AMD Experimental, which naturally doens't pick up Lion. However, if we could install the custom Chameleon to Lion prior to starting the Lion install (which would also be done from Snow, though it would put us in the position of doing things bass-ackwards from the usual), as long as Lion install doesn't screw with it, we can go back and do any needed fiddlework with *some* measure of safety.

now I have a different KP (no HPETs available), he says: CPU 0 has no HPET assigned to it...

any solution ?

in the same situation I can not get out: (

Have you tried a power management disabler by any chance? Here's a link to one I'm using with 10.7. To install:

- Place the kext in S\L\E

- Open Terminal and type:

sudo chown -R root:wheel (drag the kext from Extensions folder to copy the path)

- Remove the kext cache located at: S\L\Caches\com.apple.kext.caches\Startup

- Reboot

Kext

Good Luck.
