Thanks, the permission fix helped me install OSX.

I have some problems with your guide after that though.

>> after Setup boot loader put your boot.plist that contian flag busratio=16 on extra it is very important to next step

Which boot.plist? The one in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/?

>> After thus setup legacy kernel it will add kernel name to boot.plist we added before and patch CPUID

The legacy kernel link is down, can you please reupload it?

Is patch CPUID done automatically by the legacy kernel setup or must it be done manually?

I tried to do everything without the legacy kernel and I got into a reboot loop :(

Hi,

The legacy kernel works but has problems.

If I don't use any kernel options, I get the error in the image: http://i56.tinypic.com/jagfah.jpg, and a restart loop.

If I use the kernel option "maxmem=4096", everything works 100% but I have only 4GB of RAM (my PC has 8GB).

If I use the kernel option "-force64", I can boot with 8GB RAM but alot of programs (Flash, Quicktime, Itunes, etc.) don't work.

Any solutions?

Thanks alot, that fixed my problem with -force64! :)

Last question, my OSX install is not detecting other hard drives (I'm using MBR btw), it only detects it's own drive (which contains 2 HFS+ partitions), and doesn't detect the other two NTFS drives.

I tried checking /dev, and only rdisk0 (OSX) and rdisk1 (USB) is present.

Any help? I'm running on AHCI for all my drives.

Download the sysenter patcher and extract it.

You should find a <something>.sh in there.

Open up terminal, and change to that folder.

Enter sudo <something>.sh and type in your password.

The patcher should inform you 2 of 4 files were patched.

Restart the computer and use the boot flag -force64 and you'll boot with your full amount of RAM with apps working.

Caveat: Quicktime crashes when playing h264.

This is perfectly normal.

Since the kernel is modded, the installer will throw this error at the very end.

Just reboot and continue on with the tutorial.

I tried the legacy kernel, and OSX didn't detect my HDD #2 and HDD #3.

I had to turn off AHCI and change it to IDE for it to detect my HDD #2.

When I use the legacy kernel, Quicktime crashes when I play h.264 videos.

Any solution? Valve/Source games use Quicktime to play in-game videos and as a result the games crash.

Thx a lot. I'll give a try.

Ok guys, I was (finally) able to install the update and thanks to the patch it looks like that 32bit programs run also in 64 bit mode.

BUT I have a brand new problem...iTunes doesn't load up anymore. It just does not start (neither in 32bit mode)...no crash/errors at all.

Any thoughts??

Now I have anv 10.4 kernel (the last one)

Chameleon 2.0 rc 3

First

supported cards

	{ 0x100268F9, "ATI Radeon HD 5400"} ,
 { 0x100268D9, "ATI Radeon HD 5500"} ,
 { 0x100268DA, "ATI Radeon HD 5500"} ,
 { 0x100268D8, "ATI Radeon HD 5670"} ,
 { 0x100268BE, "ATI Radeon HD 5750"} ,
 { 0x100268B8, "ATI Radeon HD 5770"} ,
 { 0x10026899, "ATI Radeon HD 5850"} ,
 { 0x1002689E, "ATI Radeon HD 5830"} ,
 { 0x10026898, "ATI Radeon HD 5870"} ,
 { 0x1002689C,  "ATI Radeon HD 5970"}

see ID not name of card :P

known working card hd5700 hd5800 hd5900 hd5670

second

How to make them work

1- do new install 10.6 or 10.6.3

2- update to 10.6.4

3- install latest chameleon pkg from here

4-replace boot file on root by one of my boot files

5- add to boot.plist this two keys

	<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
 <string>Yes</string>
 <key>UseAtiROM</key>
 <string>Yes</string>

6- extract your gfx bios by gpuz under windows

7-paste this bios on extra folder after naming it to 1002_xxxx.rom replace xxxx with your device id

8- restart

9-install GFX update 1.0

10- hope it works good for you :)

Third

how to test boot file

i made 30 boot file with all 30 ATi frambuffer

this because some cards dont work with know frambuffer that it make to work

like

ati 5770 works good on vervet

vapor x of 5770 work only with baboon :)

so if you know which frambuffer works with you just choose it

if you don't know just try 30 boot file :D

i need feedback for working frambuffer with you ATi hd5000

in future i will try to make frambuffer can be added on boot.plist or as kernel flag

so it will be only one boot file and you can specify your frambuffer on boot plist

if cant do it will make 30 boot file with final chameleon rc5 to all ati cards

it is based on chameleon rc5 rev516 trunk 513

now time for download

Boot.zip

and this source code of injector

ati.c.txt

well i found this topic of the hd 5770 i understand almost all of it except the injector part what am i supposed to with and this source code of injector

ati.c.txt

do i need to paste it somewhere or?

Thanks a lot, but it didn't work. The problem concerns only iTunes...it still doesn't load up!

What else can I try to do?

Thanks again!!
