hey cmf

sorry for a maybe silly questiona

does this new nvidia driver support gtx480 ?

no, it's a R256 based driver and also uses the new nvdaresman/iondrv/... kexts -> new nvdagf100hal.kext is needed.

this seems like the bootloader wasn't installed (at all or not correctly) or you're using some other kind of injector. get rid of it if thats the case.

I have been frustrated with this problem for days and i finally have my gtx 470 working at full res!

1. install SL and update to 10.6.4 but dont reboot to install the update.

2. Download the fermi package posted by CMF on page one.

3. install the kexts in the package with KextHelper B7 and then copy the frameworks provided to System/library/frameworks

4. Install the Myhack 1.1.4 bootloader and before starting the install, hit customize and under extra, check the graphics enabler box.

5. reboot ignoring caches and it should work flawlessly. ;)

QE/CI! This worked for me, thanks!

EVGA GTX470

HDTV via HDMI.

I first followed tonymac's install guide using his beta iBoot4xx ISO.

After installing I followed the instructions quoted starting at step 2 but used kextUtility instead, probably doesn't make a difference but that's just the one I've always used.

Anyone have any luck with HDMI audio on the 470 in 10.6.4?

For the R256 drivers 9/09/2010. Do we need the new nvdagf100hal.kext directly from nvidia or is it something that can be editted using the old nvdagf100hal.kext ?

I have tried it with the old nvdagf100hal.kext and it doesn't work. I can get into desktop at 1024x768 resolution but at least no KP.

new nvidia driver, no nvdagf100hal.kext ...

http://www.nvidia.com/object/quadro-macosx...a23-driver.html

Thanks for letting us know.

Tested with GTX-470

-Installed new driver

-replaced Resman with the old one which has ids

-added Pciroot=1 to com.apple.boot (and graphicsenabler=Y of coarse)

-cleared caches

-repaired permissions

boots to black screen.

Have not tried graphics string method yet.

And sure I have no other kext injectors. But my Fermi seems work with 480 GFX Strings solution now which was posted above.

That problem can be remedied by using only alphanumeric characters as your volume titles. I found that using any accented characters, for instance, replicates your problem.

I have problems with bootloader: 85616770.jpg

On every itd the same: chameleon rc5, aserebln.

My config:

I tried this with the same mobo but a Gainward GTX470. It boots in the correct resolution, but the MS wireless mouse locks up in the top left corner. Ideas welcome.

Anyone have any luck with HDMI audio on the 470 in 10.6.4?

HDMI sound solved. I used VoodooHDA 0.2.1 beta. After installing it, 4 output devices were created all 4 named "Digital PCM #0". I then went to Audio MIDI Setup in the Utilities folder and set the format on all four outputs to 44100.0hz/2ch-16bit. After that I just changed each to my default sound device till I was able to hear audio. Looks like I'm fully functional guys, thanks for all the help, shoot me a PM if you have similar hardware and want some info on my experiences getting this going.
