    New Skylake build Clover issue

2 Things I had to do on a similar build: in BiOS Disable: intel graphics (IGFX) - [skylake IGFX not supported on OSX as of yet] VT-d This next bit seems stupid but my system woudn't boot without this change Under the BiOS "M.I.T" section Memory Enhanced Settings - set this to "Enhanced Stability" That last one hung me up for a long time because I couldn't see how it could have any efect but once I changed it the system booted clean every time. also please use google to search "Testing Thread: Skylake Platform in OS X" it should take you to a thread on a another board where there is a very in depth discussion about using Skylake and OSX

    Chameleon OS X El Capitan

Is there anywhere that people are discussing USB3 solutions with Chameleon. Everything else on my sytem works perfectly with Chameleon. I've searched but only found some pretty ugly temporary solutions and none based on Chameleon. So, looking for places discussing USB3 solutions on El Kap with Chameleon; Forums, threads, other places...? Also any other places where people discuss Chameleon based systems. Thanks.

    Skylake/Z170 compatibility?

@cwestpha I am sorry this is incorrect. A modified Kernel is required. To date there is non available. We will likely see a modified kernel soon. The Final release of El Kap will not include a Kernel for LGA 1151. After Apple release an actual Hardware release including an LGA1151 system then we can expect native support for hakintosh on LGA1151 The next update of the Mac Pro Mini Tower will most definitely include LGA1151 but release date is unknown. Likely chip to see in it is Mobile Xeons: Skylake Based E3-1500M

    Clover or Chameleon?

I am still on AWARD BiOS so On my next system I might try Clover again but with AWARD BiOS and DSDT Clover is really kind of a nightmare. Thanks to Enoch's latest Chameleon all compatibility issues with SSDs and large Graphics card BiOSs have been rectified making setting up and booting a new system with non-efi partition boot loader easy to install and launch with little tweaking. As mentioned above Your choice will depend on your hardware but the latest CHameleon is way better than what we were working with in the early days of Yosemite. So you can use it with AWARD or with uEFI ...IMHO

    I don't have System/Library/Kernels?

To correct the error: Can't find Mach_kernel Please remove the key and string from chameleon.boot.plist <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> never mind chasing after the kernel or pacifist... the newest chimera knows what kernel you're using and where to find it and its cache. enjoy PS Thanks MacMan

  7. iTunes crashes shortly after starting. Consistently about 10 seconds after starting. I have tried removing it completely with: sudo rm -Rf /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.network.identification.plist /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist /System/Library/Caches/* ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunes* /System/Library/Extensions/AppleMobileDevice.kext ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunes.eq.plist ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunes.plist ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunesHelper.plist /Library/iTunes ~/Library/iTunes /Applications/iTunes.app You can see from above I have tried resetting network prefs as well. Have tried re-installing, Have tried re-installing 10.6.8 combo update. At the end of my rope. Lost and clueless. Help, I'm drowning. System is: GA-p67A-UD3 i7-2600 GTX-260 SSD boot (80G-intel-G3) 3T-RAiD (home folder is on the raid) 8G-1333-RAM User DSDT SYS-def=MacPro3,1 Boot-Loader is Chimera Thanks

    PCI Configuration Begin

@Jordan2Delta Thank you @Bogdan-x86 Thank you Did both of those things and am now booting with GTX-470 I also needed to add bootflag: -usecache and for that to work I had to move kexts in /E/E to /S/L/E and repair permissions. Thanks for the info. Ty btw. failed to boot first couple times but using -x -v got me in so I could make the necessary changes.
  9. @giginopechegno I will test with my 470 and report back later. Thanks for the post. /edit: Still won't boot, (waiting for PCI config)

    fermi/gtx 480/gtx 470

What options do we have for graphics injection on 10.7? I am using Netkas Chameleon 10.7 for boot with non fermi card. What options are available for injection; boot loader with injection or kext for fermi in Lion? Sorry if it has been asked and I missed it. Ty.

@jpa Re: Cinibench. It is interesting. With stock speeds, (BCLK-133, RAM,1333, CPU-3.33Ghz) Cinibench is in the 27Fps range. Push BCLK to 200, CPU-4Ghz, RAM-2000Mhz Cinibench jumps up to >33.8 Fps Pretty big jump. I didn't expect that from a simple BCLK push. rabbit.

    fermi/gtx 480/gtx 470

Just an update. GTX-470 MSi Twin Frozer Running 10.6.6 Chameleon RC5 Prerelease Latest driver - Retail_256.01.00f03(v5) Latest Cuda Driver, (2011-01-19) System running very well Cinibench score 33.81Fps Mercury Playback working in CS5 Cuda supports the card natively. No system freezes unless I run Perian, (weird). Swap Movist, no more issue. As I understand it the GTX-470 and 480 have the same GPU as Quadro 4000 so it works. But the 460 and other 4xx cards don't have the same GPU, aren't supported and don't work well. So if you are looking for a good card that works and can be used with Premiere I recommend the 470. rabbit.

Adding: /Extra/Extensions/NullCPUPowerManagement.kext Will take care of the freezing problem. Tested on GTX-450 and GTX-470 so far. Ref: http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=...15&start=70 Worked on my 470. Thanks Tony. rabbit.

    fermi/gtx 480/gtx 470

GTX-570=No.As of yet no one has got it running. To be honest at the moment none of the fermi cards run faster than the GTX-260. So keep that in mind when spending your money. (I have seen some slightly higher performance but it comes at the price of random freezing). rabbit.
