Monkey D. Luffy
i have a Zotac 9400GT I read somewhere that XBench is not working well in 10.6. Is that true? I get a blue screen when I change resolution. I have to reboot for the changed resolution to take hold. Any ideas? BTW, FrontRow works great - I guess the card is working well. I also have that blue screen usually in boot and sometimes changing the resolution. I also own Zotac 9400GT. What I do is just turn off the monitor for 3-5 seconds then turn it back on. That doesn't make sense but it works. Are you using Snow? Are you using injectors like NVEnabler 64.kext or just using EFI string? How do you connect your computer to the monitor. Mine is DVI to DVI. If you're using DVI to DVI to connect your computer to the monitor, could you please share your efi string. I also tried modified NVCAP using NVFlash (in xp) + NVCAP Maker. But I get black screen with my real NVCAP, I dont get black screen if I use VGA to DVI nvcap. Really weird. I'll shoot you a PM as well.

alamo
I can attest that the GraphicsEnabler=yes works for QE/CI in 10.6.2 with vanilla kexts. Although, it doesn't recognize TV-out and mirroring. For this, the only method that works roll back Geforce and NV kexts (9 total) to 10.6.1, then install both NVEnabler and NVEnabler 64 into System/Library/Extensions. Don't ask me why, but it works! Full acceleration and mirroring with S-video TV-out My card is a low end Sparkle 9400 GT with 1gb of RAM DVI/VGA/TV-OUT Hi I saw your post re video card success and was wondering what method you used.. Are you saying that you used both a GFX string via os86 tools AND the nvenabler texts? to get dual monitor support? did you additionally have to add your device ID anywhere? I have been trying to get my 9400gt board working which is an XFX geforce board 9400gt with 512mb ram but cannot get dual monitor out with vga and dvi at same time but Open GL seems to indicate nvidia graffics is working my system is also 10.6.2 and I am stuck right now thanks for any info

Vini
I've had no joy with my Gainward 512mb 9400GT... I've tried NVinject NVEnabler 64 MacNuttys 9400GT Drivers EFI String Basically, I'm wanting to utilise the HDMI output of the graphics card, purely for video, as it's going to my Denon AV Receiver, and I'm sending Sound via Optical (or would if I could get video working!) The closes I got was with MacNuttys drivers, however output was only available via DVI Is it possible to get HDMI output working? and has anyone else had any joy with the Gainward? Johneh
Currently I have a completely working Snow Leopard install on a stock HP Pavillion a6010n (specifications here). I was wondering how would I go about upgrading? Just find some kext for GeForce 9400 GT? I was looking through some older threads and a lot of the links people posted about the 9400 GT were broken because they were so old. Do I need to uninstall my GMA 950 kexts for my GeForce 9400 GT to work? any help is appreciated, thanks.

Mattsasa
Hey I have a question?! I currently have a 9800GT, on 64-bit 10.6.2 and it works perfectly! If I buy a GTX 200 series card, will it work on 64-bit kernel? and Can I get my old 9800gt to work with it, I really want to get them both to work so I can use the 9800GT for a PhyX card on windows, but still have the two cards working on snow leopard, So I can have lots of graphics Processing resources, when virtualizing windows via parrallels/wmware I really want to know soon, because if there is absolutely no way to get it to work I will sell my 9800gt, but I don't want to if I don't have to
SuperCed
I have a club 9400GT with 512Mo. I have a working 10.6.2. My monitor is plugged on VGA, it's a CRT monitor. I tried differents EFI String, generated by gfxutil. I tried OSX86Tools but it does not work, I don't know why, I get a -2700 error when I try to generate GXF string. I also try DSDT Patcher gui and set GraphicsEnabler to yes, but no way. In 64 bit, it's very very slow in framebuffer mode. It takes 10 minutes to boot. In 32 Bit, framebuffer is working well. But when I put an EFI String in my com.apple.Boot.plist, I get a blue screen and nothing happens. What is very strange is : when I start with -x kernel flag (safe mode), I HAVE video acceleration, I also have different resolutions, but when I try to change it, I get this blue screen again. Do you think it's better to use a driver, NVInject or something else? I get mad with this video card... Can you give me an EFI GFX string that I can use? Thanks you very much in advance! finster14
Please help with my nVidia 9400GT DSDT (nearly there I think) Hi all, I've tried various ways to get my Inno3D 9400GT 512MB PCI-E Graphics Card working on Leopard with no joy, so I'm trying to patch my DSDT, as I think that this will be the best way in the long run (and others have recommended this route). I'm using a Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2L motherboard, a patched dsdt.aml file from a guide, and have used some dsdt code from this excellent blog post (although it is intended for a GA-P55M-UD2 motherboard). I can't get it working though - system boots into 1024x768 with no options to change resolution. I know that its definately picking up the updated dsdt.aml file, as sometimes my fiddling causes kernel panics and I have to revert to a working dsdt with the chameleon "DSDT=hd(0,2)/Extra/dsdtold.aml" command. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Here is my NVCap string: - 04000000000003000c0000000000000700000000 Here is the output from "gfxutil -f display": - DevicePath = PciRoot(0x1)/Pci(0x1,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0) And here is the relevant section from my dsdt.aml file: - Device (PCI0) { Device (PEGP) { Name (_ADR, 0x00030000) Device (GFX0) { Name (_ADR, Zero) Name (_SUN, One) Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized) { Store (Package (0x1A) { "@0,compatible", Buffer (0x0B) { "NVDA,NVMac" }, "@0,device_type", Buffer (0x08) { "display" }, "@0,display_cfg", Buffer (0x08) { 0x03, 0x01, 0x00, 0x00 }, "@0,name", Buffer (0x0F) { "NVDA,Display-A" }, "@1,compatible", Buffer (0x0B) { "NVDA,NVMac" }, "@1,device_type", Buffer (0x08) { "display" }, "@1,display_cfg", Buffer (0x08) { 0xFF, 0xFF, 0x00, 0x01 }, "@1,name", Buffer (0x0F) { "NVDA,Display-B" }, "NVCAP", Buffer (0x14) { /* 0000 */ 0x04, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x03, 0x00, /* 0008 */ 0x0C, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x07, /* 0010 */ 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00 }, "VRAM,totalsize", Buffer (0x04) { 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x20 }, "device_type", Buffer (0x0D) { "NVDA,GeForce" }, "model", Buffer (0x17) { "nVidia GeForce 9400 GT" }, "rom-revision", Buffer (0x25) { "nVidia GeForce 9400 GT OpenGL Engine" } }, Local0) DTGP (Arg0, Arg1, Arg2, Arg3, RefOf (Local0)) Return (Local0) } } } Name (_HID, EisaId ("PNP0A03")) Name (_ADR, Zero) Name (_UID, One) Name (_BBN, Zero) Method (_S3D, 0, NotSerialized) { If (LEqual (OSFL, 0x02)) { Return (0x02) } Else { Return (0x03) } } I've tried changing "Name (_ADR, 0x00030000)" to "Name (_ADR, 0x00010000)" but it doesn't boot properly. dvdflashbacks
Hey macnutty and forum, I have the EVGA EVGA 01G-P3-N945-LR GeForce 9400 GT 1GB DDR2 PCI-E 2.0 installed in my system. It seems to be working, but all the text appears to be very pixelated. I am pretty sure that the card is not being fully optimized and it doesn't show up correctly in the systems settings. I have been reading through your guide as well as other guides and can't seem to figure out how to get these drivers installed. I am using SL 10.6.2 if that makes a difference. I have seen two different methods of getting this series of card to work, one is the install by aquamac2008 but requires GFX strings as well (not sure how to add those). And the other had a set of kext files that need to be installed. I have a kexthelper app and have installed some before but not sure about modifying the com.apple.Boot.plist. I also couldn't download the osx86 tools since it seems to have been removed. Any suggestions? Also, here is a screen cap of how my card shows up right now.
