sch8mid
EDIT - scrub it - really can't be this bothered for some low quality audio.ordering - http://www.esi-audio.com/products/maya44e/ also considered http://www.audiophileproducts.com/usb-audio bit less ugly than your DAC sch8mid D I know , I know... with the RME I have probably the ugliest looking DAC in the world its hidden behind my rig , so that nobodies eyes are hurt severely but its a the same time one of the best sounding DAC in the world and i am pretty sure .. even after I spent a long afternoon at daniel weiss place in my swiss neighbourhood. http://www.weiss-highend.ch/pressreleases.html I would strongly suggest to consider this one (its better than your dacs above) : http://www.itemaudio.co.uk/kingrex_ud01_se.html absolutely following the english tradition of manufacturing good audio stuff AND for the first time in english history and very unusual paired with a phantastic italian design !!! :-)

toleda
@FormerlyKnownAs Could you try the following code? I would like to know whether you still get HDMI audio or not. For now I have known only you can get HDMI audio via ATI graphic card. Also I would to know from other people who are using XFX HD5770 whether & how they would get HDMI audio too. Device (GFX0) { Name (_ADR, Zero) Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized) { Store (Package (0x02) { "hda-gfx", Buffer (0x0A) { "onboard-1" } }, Local0) DTGP (Arg0, Arg1, Arg2, Arg3, RefOf (Local0)) Return (Local0) } } Device (HDAU) { Name (_ADR, One) Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized) { Store (Package (0x02) { "hda-gfx", Buffer (0x0A) { "onboard-1" } }, Local0) DTGP (Arg0, Arg1, Arg2, Arg3, RefOf (Local0)) Return (Local0) } } This method is working find on GT220&240. Thank you for your time. tmongkol tmonkgol, added this exact code to my GA-H55n-USB3 DSDT and got HDMI audio working with the GT 240 previously. Just replaced the GT 240 with a Sapphire Vapor-X HD5870 OC. HDMI audio is working perfectly with the HD 5870. You should note that I use the same DSDT regardless of the graphics card installed on this system. By the way, the key to successfully booting the HD 5870 is Kabyl's booter. 01A
Hi, I'm having persistent problems trying to get my 5770 working on my SL install, ever since I bought it a few weeks ago. Each time formatting and starting over. I've been following this thread and a few others. Seems every time I manage to get 1 issue sorted. Another one comes up! Below are the details of my system and the steps i've tried. I'd greatly appreciate any help with getting it to work. Thanks in advance. * All hardware installs and functions without error in Windows 7 ASUS Striker Extreme (nForce 680i Chipset) <----- All working In 64-Bit Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66 Ghz <----- Working on vanilla kernel SATA HDD - Dual Boot Windows 7 & OSX 10.6.4 <----- Booting fine with latest Chameleon Sapphire ATi Radeon HD 5770 1Gb (Vapro-X) ( ) iATKOS S3 v2 Install Minimal install with nForce Chipset & nForce Ethernet I boot in 32 bit mode initially to install the updated AppleNForceATA.kext then I follow guide as Mohammed posted. Install 10.6.4 Update. No Reboot. Install latest chameleon base with Pref. Pane Replace boot file with one attached on pg 34 (rev513) * I've also tried the original boot files on Post #1 (Vervet, Uakari, Baboon) Baboon being the 1 others have been successfully using with Vapor-X Copy Grfx ROM file to /Extra (Both 1 from 5770.zip prev post and 1 exported from my own card in windows) REBOOT - OK Upon restarting I get a higher resolution both in Chameleon & OSX. Check System Info -> Extensions. Everything running in 64-Bit OK. Install GFX Update 1.0 and here is where I hit problems. Sometimes the installer will cause a kernel panic just at the very end of the install. Or if I reboot I get a kernel panic with ATIRadeonX3000.kext <------- See Attached pics I've gone through this process several times. Checked ATI3000 & 5000 kexts, making sure my device id is listed (Which it is 0x100268B8). Even moving my ID to the beginning of both plists. Still Same. Tried booting with flags "atifb=vervet", "atifb=uakari", and "atifb=baboon". Still same Kernel Panic. Booted from install CD and repaired all permissions. Same. Tried deleting ATIRadeonX3000.kext causing the KP, and rebooting. No KP but system hangs on normal console output Any suggestions? I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but I cant see it. Thanks 01A @scotthooker 1- setup 10.6.3 or 10.6 2- update to 10 10.6.4 3-setup chameleon latest installer from here 4-replace boot file with file i uploaded in page 34 5-add to boot.plist graphicsenabler and use ati.rom use chameleon perf that will be installed with installer it willl be easy to add two keys using it 5-put rom i linked above (hd5770) on extra 6- restart 7-install GFX update 1.0 from apple 8- restart now it must work
