1. ATI HD 5770

Personally I have had pretty big problems getting all those mothods to work. If your gonna try, then I'd give Kaybl's method a shot as quite a few have had success getting their 5770's to work. Failing that like me you could use Ati_init.kext and 32-bit boot to get everything working. And wait until Kaybl and the others have finished developing the boot loader and update Chameleon. Cheers
2. ATI HD 5770

iATKOS provides easy installation on my nForce chipset (ATA & Network). I've tried retail install methods such as ##### but cant get it to detect my HDD. ##### seems to be a very well written system but i believe made for those on newer intel based boards. Also I dont have a large knowledge of the Mac/Hackintosh boot-installation systems so would find it difficult atm to create my own boot method to install retail. (Everything I have learned so far has been from using builds such as iATKOS and iDeneb) Cheers. 01A
3. ATI HD 5770

Hi, I'm having persistent problems trying to get my 5770 working on my SL install, ever since I bought it a few weeks ago. Each time formatting and starting over. I've been following this thread and a few others. Seems every time I manage to get 1 issue sorted. Another one comes up! Below are the details of my system and the steps i've tried. I'd greatly appreciate any help with getting it to work. Thanks in advance. * All hardware installs and functions without error in Windows 7 ASUS Striker Extreme (nForce 680i Chipset) <----- All working In 64-Bit Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66 Ghz <----- Working on vanilla kernel SATA HDD - Dual Boot Windows 7 & OSX 10.6.4 <----- Booting fine with latest Chameleon Sapphire ATi Radeon HD 5770 1Gb (Vapro-X) ( ) iATKOS S3 v2 Install Minimal install with nForce Chipset & nForce Ethernet I boot in 32 bit mode initially to install the updated AppleNForceATA.kext then I follow guide as Mohammed posted. Install 10.6.4 Update. No Reboot. Install latest chameleon base with Pref. Pane Replace boot file with one attached on pg 34 (rev513) * I've also tried the original boot files on Post #1 (Vervet, Uakari, Baboon) Baboon being the 1 others have been successfully using with Vapor-X Copy Grfx ROM file to /Extra (Both 1 from 5770.zip prev post and 1 exported from my own card in windows) REBOOT - OK Upon restarting I get a higher resolution both in Chameleon & OSX. Check System Info -> Extensions. Everything running in 64-Bit OK. Install GFX Update 1.0 and here is where I hit problems. Sometimes the installer will cause a kernel panic just at the very end of the install. Or if I reboot I get a kernel panic with ATIRadeonX3000.kext <------- See Attached pics I've gone through this process several times. Checked ATI3000 & 5000 kexts, making sure my device id is listed (Which it is 0x100268B8). Even moving my ID to the beginning of both plists. Still Same. Tried booting with flags "atifb=vervet", "atifb=uakari", and "atifb=baboon". Still same Kernel Panic. Booted from install CD and repaired all permissions. Same. Tried deleting ATIRadeonX3000.kext causing the KP, and rebooting. No KP but system hangs on normal console output Any suggestions? I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but I cant see it. Thanks 01A
4. Hi, I'm noticing a problem with all the builds I've used with version 10.5.6 or after. iDeneb, iPC & IATKOS. After installing either or both of these Front Row plugins (See below) front row refuses to display. No errors or visible response. Shutdown Plugin - http://dinkytunes.com/downloadpage/downloadpage.html DVDpedia Plugin - http://www.bruji.com/extras/dvdpediafrontrow.html Upon loading Activity Monitor I see Front Row running then disappearing (terminating) and then restarting. And it continues in this cycle every 10 seconds or so. If I delete the plugin from the Front Row package (Sys/Lib/CoreSvc/Front Row.app/Contents/Plugins) it immediately launches without error. I know these plugins work without fail on my official Mac Mini throughout all versions of leopard. (now running 10.5.8). And they also work fine on iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5. This problem occurs across different hackintosh system hardware and builds, and it seems to be only on builds 10.5.6 & newer. (iATKOS 5i & v7, iPC 10.5.6 Final, iDeneb v1.4 & 1.5.1). I've tried restarts, d/l and installing all non-system updates, repairing all permissions using disk utility. Tried copying Front Row from my Mac Mini. All still same. Can anyone offer any advice? Or recommend any tools so i can try to track Front Row's launch? Or if you have any of the above builds could you try installing one of the plugins, and post back of they work or if you have the same problem? They are easy to remove, just navigate Finder to your root OS X HDD, Then into 'System' folder, 'Library' folder, 'Core services'. Inside here you'll find 'Front Row.app' Right click on this and choose 'Show Package Contents' then in the new finder window open the 'Contents', then 'Plugins' folder and you should see either 'DVDpedia.frappliance' or 'Shut Down.frappliance' right click on them and move to trash. Enter your admin password and front row will start without a problem. Many Thanks In Advance 01A
