  1. Hakushi, I have a similar motherboard. It's an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ on an Abit KN9 Ultra (same chipset). It installed succesfully with the following options: AMD 10.4.9 AMD SSE3 kernel AppleACPIPlatform from 10.4.8 nForce SATA Azalia Audio Everytime i tried installing the drivers for my graphics card (Radeon X1600), however, OS X would not boot. Well, the grey Apple logo would show, but right where OS X should show the dekstop, the screen goes blank. The hard drive continues to rattle, though, meaning it's still booting, but somehow it's unable to correctly load the graphics driver. SATA HDD is recognized and audio works. LAN doesn't. edit: some websites show false info about your motherboard, apparently. Not the same chipset, it seems. My apologies.
  2. 2.0GHz Detected as 1.5GHz

    My Athlon64 X2 4800 also shows up as 3.7 Ghz. sysctl hw.cpufrequency returns 2410000000 edit: running 10.4.5
  3. borisbadenov ATI X1000-series Solution

Just curious: does anyone here has a SiS chipset AND got their x1600 working? About dual monitor: I noticed the x1600 has a ven/dev id and subven/subdev id, right? Some brainstorming: ven/dev id is linked to the primary monitor and subven/subdev to the secondary??? What about including those two strings in the kexts? Or is this stupid thinking...
  4. borisbadenov ATI X1000-series Solution

Woohooow! Its works Problems in .6, but working perfectly in .5. Both maximum resolution and frequency are detected and changeable. System runs somewhat smoother, artefact are gone and the mousepointer has a shadow. Asus ATI Radeon X1600Pro 256MB Big hug for you, Boris!
  5. The answer to your question lies beneath the words in this very thread... I suggest you read it!
  6. Can't we make a sticky out of this? open terminal sudo -s enter password if asked chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/<drivername>.kext chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensios/<drivername>.kext kextload it agian, should work.
  7. Installed "your" kext, loaded perfectly (no errors), reboot, kext is not loaded and (quite obviously) sound is not working. I've tried a lot of modified kexts now, but still with no result. Any idea? btw: it's an AD1986A; running 10.4.5 edit: nevermind, what pci soundcard DOES work? (6 channels is possible)
