Ok, thought this'd be an interesting one, i've follwed the OSX86 project since it started and have had it running ok on my laptop for a few months and have deciced to buy a refurbished Powerbook 15" 1.67Ghz (latest model) because of my experience via this project, anyone else......?

I've bought an iBook (2nd hand, EUR 800) and I've just ordered a MacBook Pro. I'm on mixed Windows/OSX since August 2005 and OS X exclusive since November 2005.

Today I've had some surprises when tried to use Windows GUI and a two button mouse :hysterical:

Mini duo for my Dad -shoulda done THAT a long time ago - his "problems" (related to looking at too much "adult material") GONE! Ya-Haa!, 2 Mini's for the kids, a 17" iMac for Mrs.

I am waiting on what the ProMacs look like. Once I find what I want/need, I will be 100% switched.

Meanwhile, happy with the performance on the Dev machine, P4 2.8HT Asus P4P800-VM.

waiting for i/macbook to come out or maybe the 12 inch mbp for next school year when i head to university... i have been dual booting since around january.... haven't logged into windows since then (well... at least not on my laptop.... but just sometimes i feel like theres nothing to do on mac... no virus checking, no spyware checking.... what should i do with so much free time now? )

i heart mac

just following on from my opening post, i ordered my refurb powerbook Wed. morning and i've had an email telling me it'll be with me today (Thu) man now that is fantastic service!, just hoping the refurb unit isn't battered to much. anyway looking forward to mothballing my PC and getting some space back in the living room.

apple is to expensive for me to afford I + I love my dell inspiron6000 with the crazy 1920x1600 resolution

Mac OSX boots up a lot faster then windows and I really like the design a hell lot more then ugly winxp with ugly green start button

but I think I wouldn't buy a real one

I'm happy using both systems on one machine. one for pleasure (internet and poker widget and soon hopefully logic + fc5) and one for work (premiere, after effects, photoshop on winxp)

Im glad i was able to test the OS and I wanst impressed. The only thing that might change my mind would be testing Logic Pro 7. But other wise I have everything OS X provides and more with Gnome and Linux if a *nix system was what I was looking for.

I didn't purchase one because of X86, I installed OSX86 because I own a POwerBook G4 15". So I am kind of the opposite, I converted form Windows in November 2005 and wanted to see what an Intel machine would do. Yesterday I ordered a ASRock 775 DualP4 915GL mobo to replace the crappy one that came with the Dell Dimension I installed OSX86 on. Will put a P4 3.0 Prescott HT processor on the board.

I use Apple comp. since 1988 (I own several one and also a NeXT Cube :D), i like OS X but now it's time to switch to A Monster MacBook Pro (i hate this name :D see my signature to understand... :), I'm really waiting for a monster my friends! and of course hope that OSX86 will boot...and also it costed me less than a MacBookPro...

I was already a Mac user, but was stuck with a Winblows laptop for school. Here's my Mac list:

Home:

1.25 GHz DP G4 FW800

Mac Mini (Intel Solo)

12" iBook G3/900

iMac DV G3/400

Work:

PowerMac G5 Dual-Core 2 GHz

B&W G3/400

iMac DV G3/500

I'm finishing up my degree at DeVry and they require a Windows machine, so I bought an HP dv1340us (really great hardware!) The only way to make it perfect for me was to be able to dual-boot XP and Tiger. Now I can and I'm thrilled :)
