Its all about finding out WHY it disdnt work...

Did you have kexts installed for your graphics card for example? were they updated in the update? Just because you selected vanilla does not mean you can use all the updates from apple

It has a sata drive that is the ony problem that I see, but there is a good chance that it is using an intel mobo, I would say that it will work fine,

I feel it nearing, My heart races, My macshiba waits for me to slide it in, The feeling of a new os, makes her throb, I hope it is compatible.

Ok, im bored, Just waiting for it to finish so I can let it seed while i play with it :o

I seem to have a problem. Boot on the DVD, ticked the usual stuff (although iatkos is not as straight forward as Kalyway). But I can't boot on the hard drive then.

I get the "boot:"

Whatever I do, nothing happens. I never had problems booting before, if someone could tell where I went wrong that would be great.

I had AppleACPI ticked, and the netkas SMBios....

I can't get it to boot, too.... I get constant rebooting.

Is there a way to integrate kexts into this? I have a working Kalyway installation, but I want to just put in all of the kexts that I know that work so that I can reinstall without going through the hassle of finding and installing all of them over again... and I'm seeding...

I am holding down the c key but it will not boot. I am on Philips Freevent X55, Intel T5550, 945M express chip set. There is one poxed up XP partion on the drive. Its ATA also. This my first time with OSx86, I want to break my OSx86 cherry. Thanks.

Those boot time keystrokes only work on real Macs.

To boot off the optical drive on your machine you either have to change the boot order in the BIOS, or if your motherboard supports it, select the boot device on startup.

(Should be message on screen as to what key to hit to get to either of those. Usually F2 or Del for BIOS, and F12 for boot menu)
