iATKOS v4i (10.5.4 Intel only) released

Have downloaded and burned the iso. Upon entering Disk Utility, it can't see my second set of SATA channels (that is where the drive is that i usually install OS X, with Vista on the drive on the first SATA channel). I assume that I could just switch the cabling in my computer to change that problem (first making sure I don't hoop Vista by doing so).

Anybody know if this will allow my Atheros 5007 mini pci card to work? I've just downloaded Kalyway's 10.5.2 version and installed it, but Atheros is not playing ball. Everything else works native, including my SATA drives.

I can't get this one from the demon though as i'm not a member and it's not open to pubic atm :)

If anyone is prepared to invite me it would be nice..pm me if you can. btw, i do seed.. my laptop is permanently connected to the internet on a 10Mb connection :police:

Thanks

Steve

I just got a cheap Pentium D system I wish to run this on, here's the specs.

Intel Pentium D 3.0Ghz

ASRock 4CoreDual

North VIA PT880 Pro/PT880 Ultra

South VIA VT8237S

ddr400/ddr2667(Can only use 1 though)

sound Realtek ALC888

network VIA PHY VT6103

Radeon X1800XT

1 gb ddr400

Is this the right release for this system? I plan on using it for somewhat of a media computer.

install works fine, but fails to load AppleACPIPort driver on boot. I'm on a Asus P5k-Deluxe WiFi/AP, Q6600, 4GB RAM, nVidia 9800GTX. Any suggestions?

had the same problem, select under system the sata option

worked for me, had the same problem updating from iatkos v2 to 10.5.3 (used the appleachiport.kext and the ioachifamily.kext from kelyway to update)

It took a lot of messing around (it always does) to get everything up and running, but so far this is the best install of OSx86 I have gotten on my hackintosh so far. EFI v8, vanilla kernel, wireless/audio detected immediately... the only issue was getting my graphics card recognized. Once I added the appropriate EFI strings for my GS7900, everything was working perfectly.

I just installed this on my laptop. It actually detects my ethernet (I think, it shows up in the network thing but idk if it works) and it detects a bluetooth modem (I don't have bluetooth but I do have a modem). When installing it seemed like it hung at the very beginning of install but it didn't.

Hi, I've been trying to get this installation working on my Inspiron 9400, when I try to use a primary partition the disk utility won't erase it and therefore I can't install the os. However, when I use a logical partition the os will install, but I can't seem to get it to boot. I have Vista installed on another partition obviously as a primary partition which stays as the active partition after the installation, I also have both the small 50 mb (active) and the 5/6 gb(Logical) bakcup dell partitions. What should I do?,,, I did have kayway 10.5.1 installtion on my drive at some point a long time ago but have gotten rid of it since.

I installed it last night. Hmmm, it's a mixed feeling.

First off, it's the only only yet of its kind taking you straight to 10.5.4. But secondly, it's carried over from the old version all (or lack of new) the archaic kexts for some of the most commonly available internal components such as network card and sound. I have a motherboard that is almost 100% compliant with vanilla kernel that it works right out of the box. But with iATKOS (no matter what version), network and sound are dead.

I have always liked iATKOS approach in scaling down to support just Intel only. However; the choices are so limited in selecting components during install stil baffles me since those don't take up much room or effort.

It could be a very, very nice release if support for various network cards is updated. Nevertheless, it is still a good release and one of its kind, for now. Great work!

OMG! No really holy {censored}! It would only install on one of my hard drives but EVERYTHING IS PERFECT. I had to patch alc885 audio but that is not hard when you have internet access. Very stable and Reboot works fine. I never sleep but I'll test that too soon. I never got 10.5.4 working before this so thank you very much.

take a look at the nvinject.kext >show package content

copy the info.plist to desktop and open with textedit and look for the <integer>60000</integer> line (60000 must be zero like <integer>0</integer>

copy the modded info.plist back in the nvinject.kect and repair permissions

reboot
