iATKOS v4i (10.5.4 Intel only) released

Finally selected the proper options for my setup.

Asus P5GD1-FM/S

P4 630 @ 3.0GHz

3GB RAM

eVGA Geforce 7300GT 128MB

Linksys WMP54GS Wireless

Seagate 160GB SATA HD

DVD-RAM Drive (PATA, can't remember brand)

Options selected:

Darwin X86 Bootloader for MBR

NVInject 128MB

ToH 9.2.0 Kernel

Additional SATA Drivers

Remove Thermal Kexts

I spent forever trying to get past the "Still waiting for root device" error, of course I didn't take note of the options I selected for each install, so that probably slowed me down a bit, but oh well. Wireless works, wired LAN works, audio works, firewire detected but untested as yet, SATA works, detects both SATA hard drives, PATA DVD-RAM drive works.

All I can say is that the post-install music with 10.5.4 is CRAZY {censored}.

Man, can anyone send me the PS2 patch package from the iATKOS DVD? I updated to 10.5.4 and my PS/2 is dead, tried a bunch of solutions but nothing works. I want to get the PS2 patch package without having to download the entire DVD :(

I just got this installed today but not without problems. I'm having issues with bluetooth pairing :thumbsdown_anim: it sees my keyboard and gives me the pairing number to type in but that's as far as I can get. I have never had a problem before, I've been using the same D-Link DBT-120 dongle and Apple keyboard since 10.4.1. I have a second dongle and I tried using it but I get the same results. I hope Kalaway comes out with 10.5.4 soon.

Hi thanx for the advice on the quartz extreme. I tried to install it on a dell d830 with intel screen card (gm965). You can see the desktop initializing but then goes blank/black. I installed all the screen drivers, and it chose the 3100 driver... but still the same results. Any one have any ideas?

I've tried iATKOS, but I can't seem to get my ATI Radeon 3870 X2 to support CI and QE. I've tried the package included with iATKOS and most of the other methods mentioned on this forum, also nat's packages wont work. Any idea's?

Editting the .ktext file for my Marvell Yukon is a bit weird, it works but OSX detects it as Airport, one ethernet port :/. In 10.5.2 (both Leo4all and Kalyway) detected both network ports (with the Yukon support under Customize: skge).

And it would be nice if I could get my Intel CH9 Raid volume to be recognized while we're at it :)

Now OSX asks me to "Initialize" both disks every time I boot.

Hey, take a look at this thread, http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=79526, it should help you with the blackout problem.

It works with iATKOS 1.0 but with 2.0 and 4.0 you will get the screen resolution twice the screen size.

Will the GMA X3100 option in this install work properly with my Thinkpad R61i and have QE/CI enabled with full resolution on the LCD?

What other install options would you recommend for this machine?

Lenovo R61i

Intel Core2 Duo T5250 @ 1.5 ghz

1280x800 display

Mobile-intel 965 Express chipset (GMA X3100)

2GB ram

FUJITSU MHW2160BH PL 160 GB HDD

HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T20N ATA DVD-ROM

Intel 82801HEM/HBM SATA AHCI controller

Intel ICH8M Utra ATA storage controllers -2850

Ricoh Memory stick/SD/MMC/xD controllers

SDA standard compliant SD host controller

Ricoh OHCI compliant IEE 1394 host controller

Broadcom Netlink gigabit ethernet

Intel pro/wireless 3945ABG network connection

Ricoh R/Rl/5C476(II) cardbus controller

Conexant high definition audio

finger print reader (trusted platform module 1.2)

I suspect the wireless is a non-starter, but what will work 'out of the box', and what will work with some simple tweaking? Messing with kext files seems awfully confusing :)

I'd like to install OSX on this laptop as I like OSX but cannot afford to buy a macbook, and I have already been given the lenovo.

Any help/suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks. :(

It doesn't have any patch for SSE2. So it won't work.

It definitely works with a SSE2 only CPU. I successfully installed iATKOS 4i yesterday on my P4 3GHz Nothwood, but I had to use the 9.2.0 ToH kernel.

BTW... could somebody who installed iATKOS 4i please try iCal? It won't even start on my hackint0sh. The error message is something like 'iCal quit unexpected...' and I can choose between 'ignore', 'restart' and 'report'. Just let me know if I should post the error log.

Anyone got this working on vmware yet? I've got to the install page but not completed a full install yet, I found out a couple of things though. Use the disk image in Daemon Tools or burn it for real cos it won't work at all using the mounting part of vmware. Pre-allocate the hard drive in full as well.
